I stood silently in the dark alley, its presence made me fear it, though I knew I had to be there. A dark, black cloak, draped past my waist, with a lingering hood above my head. My eyes glowed in the dark, but no matter how many people stared, I quickly dismissed them as the stupid. A sign to my left, noted in big, giant letters Tending bar, those who come in get a free drink! I stared up at the sign, before reaching my cold, clammy hand into my skirt. What came out was what seemed to be a letter, which indeed said that this was the place. The night was merrily nothing to me, with the moons gouging light, made me feel like my purpose was to be a guardian.
A man blocked my way as I walked in. "ID please." He replied sternly, holding his big fat hand out to me. I nodded and grabbed the fake ID from my pocket, in which I was given to, to spy. "I come here to take one drink, but nothing more." My voice lingered and bellowed as he passed me back my ID, placing into my thin, small and bony hand. People as usual, stared at me, sitting by large rectangular tables. This seemed odd since it was about 10 p.m at night. The man I stared at, had nothing to do with these people, and acknowledged him for that.
He must be a spy. The words were pushed into the back of my head. I sat down in the bar seat, just in front of the tender. "I.." I paused mid sentence as he held up a finger to make sure I would know it wasn't my time to talk. "The drink I bring is what you will get. That's the only way it'll be free." I curled my lip at these words, though he could not tell, because they were over shadowed by my cloak.
"Do as you say." My words came as bluntly as they could. He did not answer. "Sir?" I asked. No answer. "Sir!" I repeated, more loudly then the first. He threw his hands up as if he was about to be shot, then lowered them. "Y-You're a...." Before another word was spoken, I threw my hand into his face, his voice muffled. I then decided to move my hood up to show my face. "I am the leader." My lips pressed together as if this conservation should have been done ages ago. He rushed off into the back room, startled and surprised and grabbed the drink. Every move he made, made my suspicion grow more and build. He walked awkwardly, his voice was too demanding, etc. . He came back moments later with a clear glass of beer in his hand. I snatched it from the counter and drank. The sour taste, the awkward stingy, the twitchy feeling just made me throw up. My hand cupped over my mouth as beer spat out of my mouth.
"I am leaving!" I announced, placing it back on the table. Heart pounding as if a bullet struck straight through it, I walked out the door. Some thing rang like a bell through my brain as I passed to go get a drink of water. 'Run.' I pricked my ears, looking to see who could have been the one to say it, before I heard footsteps. Loud, creaking, footsteps. You can do better then that! Without another thought, I ran out of the alley, as the footsteps grew louder and louder. Give... The sentence stopped mid short, when another man jumped out into the open, his arms outstretched, with millions of knives placed around him. I turned the corner, my lungs fighting for air as I turned into the next alley way. A wall blocked my path, and I gazed in horror.
No where to go... I looked around the find an exit, but my reaction was too late. A dagger pierced my back, and I could feel the painful, squeezing, burning, feeling, of poison finding its way to my blood stream. A scream too late, then a movement too fast. Another dagger struck my stomach, leaving the poison dripping down my belly. I squeezed my eyes shut, my head facing upward. Fought back, when I knew I was at my least state in which I couldn't. I finally broke free. Heart pounding, blood pouring. The poison was taking its tole, and quickly. I could here StarLight's words echoing through my phone, but no words could break free of my choking wind pipe. Before I knew it, my body was motionless against the cold stone of the New York side walk.

        Mrs.Ishmael's POV

(Authors Note: I based this character after my 8th grade science teacher)

I looked around the strange place I shouldn't have been. Many drunks, smokers, drug adicts, and more stood around me. I was shocked to see even police were acting strange. Something just didn't feel right. Why am I here? The question came to me like a sudden burst to me. I could not ask anyone, for it was to life risking to even talk to one of these men. One girl, a young child, ran up to me, with a worried expression on her face, but also hope. "Why am I here?" I repeated the same question I had asked myself to her.

"I brought you here." She replied, her voice as if she was distant, to much in thought. "I am StarLight, the guardian of the group with Aura. She..." She stopped mid sentence as I interrupted to ask if she was ok. Aura was my student after all. "I need you to help us find Aura..." Her voice seemed awkward, her light blue eyes were pale with weary and tiredness. I then noticed a large, perfectly round hole in her left side. She seemed to have seen my shock, because she covered her blood soaked hand over the wound, squinting in what seemed like agonizing pain.

"Tell me where she is and I'll help, but you..." I paused, pointing to the wound on the poor child's side, "You go get medical help, quickly. I'll find my way around." StarLight opened her mouth to argue, but my glare was enough to make her do as I said. She reached out her hand, which held some awkwardly shaped phone. "Use this. I'll tell you which way to go through this phone." I gave a curt nod, and snatched it from her hand. I walked past her, listening to the sirens of every passing police car. Bar tenders stood outside of their shops, watching me as I walked past the man I found the most suspicious. It sent chills down my spine as his eyes were locked with mine in an attempt to intimidate.

After moments of glaring, I turned away and dismissed him. I could feel my blood turn cold as I turned into an alley way, in which was as black as a room with no lights or windows in it.My shoulders tensed up as clumsy foot steps began sounding louder and louder, until it was face to face with me. It was Aura, but she was too dazed to be able to walk. I could hear the rasping breath stuck in her throat, and I looked down to see a stab wound in her stomach. She blinked her eyes focusing, and then stumbled backward as if in fear. "M-Mrs.Ishmael? wh-...." I watched in horror as Aura fell onto her knees, and threw up, blood, pure blood, and tried to get up. I quickly placed one of her quivering arms over my shoulders, and got up.
"If... they follow us... go to government.... spot." Aura's body shook with pain again. It was scaring me. How did she end up like this? The words got stuck in the air as she carried on, out into the lights.

Aura's POV

It no longer felt warm to me even after Mrs.Ishmael picked me up. I could feel my blood burn as if the veins were melting. The teacher's breath was warm against my arm, and I cranned my neck so I could place my head on her shoulder. My nearly bare feet slid across the concrete, and my back bent into the weirdest position imaginable. I could hear the long hard foot steps of someone approaching. It wasn't the normal footsteps, no, it was chilling, heart racing steps. Another step, and then the whistle of wind. Then another. I let out a loud scream as more of the daggers dipped in poison struck through me. My body involuntarily twisted, and my knees locked with the rest of my body shaking and my head pressed harder into Mrs.Ishmael's shoulder.
"Please... make it stop..." I pleaded, though I knew there was no way she could help me except for dragging me down the streets. But then I noticed daggers were not just hitting me, they were hitting her. 'Go left.' My voice lingered in her head, it was weak but I knew she could hear me. She turned left. 'Left again then right.' She listened and with all my might I tried to push myself up right to stand, but the poison sent a wave of shock, and my teeth gripped into Mrs.Ishmael's shoulder. She turned left then right but another attack struck us hard, and I felt every part of me just go cold. I was unable to feel my arms and legs anymore.
Mrs.Ishmael turned so I was right behind her, her dark brown hair under my head. I wanted to hold my stomach, but my arms still could not move. I could see more daggers flying towards me, but I no longer felt the pain. She stumbled as I heard the most spine chilling sound ever. The dagger had ripped through Ishmael's throat, leaving a gouging tear into the side. I rolled my head so that I fell off her back, but it did not work. She had gripped the the drained from life hands onto mine.
There was no more breath going in and out of her chest. She was dying. She ignored this and slowed her run to a slow pace walk. I kept letting her know which way, until foot steps and more flashing lights came upon us. She collapsed, letting me drop, but we both faced each other. My arm finally was able to move and I placed it out, quickly dropping. Ishmael did the same thing, but none of our hands reached each other. My faint breath was shallow, and I could feel my life passing by. 'Aura.' The voice lingered in my head, before I could feel myself convulse and then lay still. 'I am sorry.' When I looked into Mrs.Ishmael's eyes, they were now glassy, no life, just nothing. I helped her close her eyes, and my eyes slowly close as the ground became the only thing I could feel. 'I... am ..' My life was then gone.
