Chapter 6

NOTE: Some of the characters I have used in this chapter are completely fan-made and in no way tie to the Sonic universe (games and/or comics). These characters are purely for this story alone. Sonic, Shadow, Tails, Rouge, The Commander/the use of the name G.U.N, and Omega are all owned by SEGA, (Y/N) and any other characters mentioned are owned by me.

Sorry this note is so late into the story... I have put it into the story blurb. Anyway, enjoy the story!

After Shadow had made the call to Rouge and filled her in, he and Tails both disappeared into the large workshop out the back of the house. The two were interested in finding out the secrets to the Golden Moon, they wanted to know it's power before taking any other action.

However in doing that, they left the still sleeping (a/t) alone. Shadow didn't want to leave her alone considering her state of health, but Tails insisted that she'll be safe in the house.

"Sonic won't be gone that long anyway, if she wakes up he can keep her company." The fox stated, setting up a second chair at his messy desk.

"That's one thing I'm concerned about..." Shadow stated, taking a seat as the kitsune cleaned, "She's sensitive, he might be too much for her to handle right now."

"I suppose, but you can always deal with Sonic later, outside of the house if possible."

The hedgehog nodded, and Tails turned to him. He had a pen in one hand and paper in the other, "First I want you to explain the power you're feeling, we'll go from there."

Shadow nodded and held up the golden artefact. This might be a long day.

Meanwhile the (a/t) was starting to stir. She shifted on the couch slightly, before sitting up and rubbing her eyes. When she opened them, she noticed she was...

Well (Y/N) Didn't know where she was.

It was a room, but it looked... Weird...

There was a small table sitting on a strangely coloured animal skin; small objects sat on them, all completely new to the (a/t). A large black mirror sat on the other side of the room, with black and silver boxes sitting around it, they all had red lights on them, and black rope that disappeared behind the mirror.

She turned her gaze below her, she was sitting on a light blue bed of sorts, there was a smaller one to the side as well, and another smaller table between them.

What is this place?

The sound of someone arriving made (Y/N)'s ears perk and she sat alert. Someone walked into the room, a blue hedgehog similar to Shadow stood in front of her. He had bright green eyes and a smile on his peach muzzle. He looked oddly familiar, like a friend of hers.

"Hey sleeping beauty." He chuckled, walking over to her, "I heard you might be hungry, fancy a chilli dog?"

The (a/t) tilted her head slightly, "Cornelius...?"

"Nope! Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!" He flashed a bright grin, before handing her a plate with some sort of food on it. It looked very unappetising, in fact the (a/t) didn't even know how to explain what it was.

"I take it Cornelius is a friend? If he looks anything like me he must be a handsome fellow." The hedgehog chuckled to himself, "Shadow's out the back with Tails, they're looking at that gold moon thing, is it really as dangerous as the Faker is making out?"

"Faker...?"

"A nickname for the broody hedgehog." Sonic chuckled.

"Oh... Where am I...?" (Y/N) asked, ignoring his own question, and putting the plate down. Whatever it was, she didn't fancy trying it at all.

"My place, Shadow brought you here to keep you safe from G.U.N. About time Shadow realised their bad side, I've never really liked them."

"Your... Place?"

"House, home, whatever you want to call it really." He took the plate from the small table and munched on the weird looking food, "Shadow said you'd be hungry when you woke up, guess you aren't a fan of chilli dogs though."

"It looked putrid..." The (a/t) muttered, "What... Is it made of?"

"That is an excellent question, one I have no answer for." The blue blur swallowed his food, looking around the room, "Made in some factory, probably something gross, but otherwise a delicious delicacy. You should really try one."

He held another up, as if pulling it out of thin air, and handed it to the (a/t) again, "Just a bite at least, so that Shadow won't get mad at me for not feeding you."

(Y/N) held it lightly, it felt disgusting in her hands. It smelled weird as well, and although her subconscious was telling her not to bite into it, she did anyway. At first it was okay, had a strange crunch to it (which (Y/N) believes is the white squares on top), and didn't taste too bad.

Until the heat spread through her mouth. She let out a whine and covered her mouth, coughing lightly. The chilli dog fell from her hand, but Sonic caught it quickly and patted her back.

"Guess you don't like chilli...?" He asked as she let out a louder whine. Why did her mouth burn so much? Chilli? What is that?

Sonic was gone in a second, before standing next to her with a cup of water, he handed it to her gently and she drank it quickly. At first it didn't seem to help, but eventually the burning went away. Still she covered her mouth, it felt all tingly and weird now.

"I'll uh... I'll just make you a sandwich." Sonic chuckled, "What do you normally eat?"

"I..." She thought for a moment, "Do you eat different things to me?"

The hedgehog only shrugged, "Probably, a lot can and probably has changed in over 150 years. I wouldn't be surprised if you hunted for your food back then."

The (a/t)'s eyes widened, what did he say?

"1... 150 y-years...?"

"Yeah." The hedgehog blinked, before turning to her as if realising something, "Oh... Shit... Shadow did say you didn't know yet..."

(Y/N) stood straight, looking around the area quickly, "It's been 150 years?!"

"Hey hey, calm down." Sonic stood as well, holding his hands up, "Just sit back down, I can get Shadow and he can- Hey!"

The (a/t) pushed past him, running through the strange building, the house. Where did she go? Where could she? Spotting a door, the (a/t) ran out into the open and cringed at the bright sunlight, it was starting to set over the forest.

150 years.

She looked around her, taking in the surroundings. The area didn't look familiar to her at all. Where was she? How could she get back? Where was her family?

"Hey!" The blue hedgehog walked outside, waving his arms, "It's getting dark, you could get lost if you keep running!"

She ignored him and headed towards the forest. She had to get home, no way had it been 150 years. No way had she survived that long, surely it had only been a few weeks, maybe a month or two. These people are crazy!

"You idiot!" Shadow yelled behind her, the sound of something being hit made her flinch, "Stay here, I'll get her."

The (a/t) kept running. Tears started to appear in her eyes. Where was her home, her mother and father? What about her grandmother? They must be worried sick. Or worse... No, it can't have been 150 years, they are still here!

Something grabbed her arm and she yelled, trying to pull away from her captor.

"Calm down." Shadow stated, his grip tightening, "(Y/N) it's dangerous out here."

A tree branch flew down and caught onto his torso, pulling the hedgehog away from the shaking (a/t). She wiped her eyes and kept running. She had to find her family, her home. (Y/N) hadn't even thought of them until now, how could she be so selfish?

The upset Mobian tripped over, but instead of hitting the ground a net of tree roots caught her, slowly rapping themselves around her in an embrace. She wiped her eyes again,

"It h-hasn't... It can't be..." She curled up in the net of wood, "M-Mumma... Pappa..."

A tear fell down her cheek and she curled up tighter, her tail tucking and ears pinning back. Footsteps sounded close by and the roots slowly unravelled, lifting the crying (a/t) off the ground and into furry arms.

"Come on..." Shadow's voice was quiet, for once calming, "Lets go back... We have a lot to talk about..."
