7 - An Old Friend

"Where are we going?"

Yeseul and Jeongin were walking along the empty path together, both admiring the wonderful scenes of spring that had emerged after a duration of rain and thunder. It was an early Sunday morning, and the pair felt relaxed and light-hearted as they made their way to their destination.

"We're going to a friend of mine," Jeongin answered before lowering his voice. "He's an angel too, but he doesn't have a human,"

"Why not?"

At Jeongin's hesitation to answer her rather prodding question, Yeseul waved her hand dismissively. "It's okay, you don't have to answer, I was just curious,"

"He...His human, they, er, they passed away," Jeongin said quietly as the female let out a soft 'Oh', in surprise.

"Was it anything serious?" She asked as their pace started to slow down, nearing the journey's end.

"No, he was their guardian angel since they were twenty three, and they had spent a considerable amount of time together. His human passed when she was ninety four, of old age,"

As the two passed the cathedral, Yeseul found herself noticing a young child, wrapped up in their puffy coat, squeezing his mother's hand, as well as an elderly gentleman, shuffling along the stairs. Just past her eyeline, she could see a man placing flowers on a grave, wiping his tears away.

Life was a carousel, going round and round.

"We're here,"

Jeongin rapped on the door and stepped back as Yeseul inspected the little cottage. It was quite small, suitable for about two people, and it contained a variety of hydrangeas and honeysuckle plants in the front yard, brightening up the atmosphere.

Suddenly, the door opened, revealing an extremely handsome boy. He had blonde, curly hair and a twinkle in his eye as he scanned the pair, the corners of his mouth twitching into a dazzling smile.

"Jeongin, how could you not have visited me earlier," He shook his head in, evidently disappointed. "Nevermind that, come in!"

"I was busy, hyung!" The younger boy whined as they slipped their shoes off and stepped into the living room. "I had this one to deal with,"

At his words, Yeseul frowned. "Don't forget that I'm giving you free accomodation and food, Yang,"

"Of course not, Jeon,"

"Ah, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" The blond extended a hand. "Bang Chan,"

The girl shook it, shyly. "Jeon Yeseul,"

"Yes," Chan smirked. "Jeongin's human. How are you finding him?"

"He's," Yeseul's eyes trailed to the said boy who looked at her with a curious expression. "He's alright,"

As Yeseul tentatively took a seat, out of nowhere, a set of teacups and a teapot appeared, filling themselves up as Jeongin and Chan took them.

"Hyung," The Yang boy paused. "Are you - are you ever going to come home?"

"I will," The Bang boy answered as he took a long drag of his tea. "But not yet,"

"Why?" Jeongin complained. "You've had your fair share of the Earth, and what's the point? It's not even fun, human's are so stupid,"

"Hey!" Yeseul exclaimed. "I'm not that stupid!"

"I beg to differ," Jeongin snorted, much to the older's amusement. "Also, hyung, I saw Minho hyung here, did you know that he's back?"

This time, it was Chan's turn to frown. "I thought he vowed never to come back after...."

"I thought so too, but he's back and kicking," Jeongin snickered. "He's a store owner,"

"Minho's not the only one who's back," Chan warned. "Everyone is appearing,"

"When you mean everyone," It was Yeseul's turn to interrupt. "Do you mean angels and demons?"

"That's right," Chan grinned. "Over the past week I've seen Changbin, Jisung and Hyunjin lurking around, Felix has popped in for a visit a few days ago, and Seungmin... I don't even know where that boy's gone,"
