22 - It Ends Now

The day was finally here.

Well, it was more of a night, but it was still here.

The night that would finally end the silent war that had continued for so long.

Jeongin was getting ready in his and Yeseul's shared room, the blue-haired boy pulling a black headband over his hair to keep it out of the way. Leather gloves guarded his hands, and his lips were pulled into a tight, dark expression.

He looked mesmerizing.

All the while, Yeseul watched him check his bag that contained everything that he might ever need, pushing a few stray hairs out of his face. Her own heart was pounding, terrified at the thought that her guardian angel might not come back.

"How do I look?"

Jeongin spun around, watching the Jeon girl who circled him, her eyes scanning each and every one of his facial features before settling on his tempting lips that had teased her a few nights before.

"Like a killer," She said softly.

Jeongin's expression remained stoic, but inside his heart was breaking. He needed to tell her... that if he didn't come back...

"Yeseul!" He blurted. "If-If I don't come back... then, please don't do anything you might regret. You have a life to live whereas I..."

His words trailed off as he felt a soft pair of lips on his own, and he realised that the girl he liked had kissed him.

Her lips were everything and more that he had dreamed of. They were so, extremely soft, and sweet, and the boy could taste her strawberry lip balm that she used so often. His hands were on her waist, pulling her frame as close to him as he possibly could, whilst her hands explored his hair, twirling blue strands around her slender finger.

It was a kiss of both love, and desperation.

They pulled back, cheeks red, small pants, but smiles on their faces.

Suddenly, Seungmin came bursting in, regarding the pairs' state before he smirked.

"I hope I wasn't interrupting something,"

"You were, actually hyung," Jeongin entwined his hands with Yeseul, who was inwardly screaming with joy. "But what is it?"

"It's time to go,"

...

Eight boys marched up the cemetery where they knew a boy was waiting for them.

He was a boy who had been lonely until he had found two great people who had promised to care for him.

And for a while, he had been happy.

But his ambition and desire for power grew far too great, and the boy was stripped of his angelic powers and made to the status of a lowly demon.

Even there, he was still power-hungry and knowing that if anyone discovered his eagerness for the throne, the boy vanished.

The two people that he had befriended were saddened for they knew that they would have to kill him, and so the older of the two, the angel, took to earth to carry out his duty.

A fierce battle had taken place, and with the strike of the Lord's sword, the angel had killed him.

But a whisper of smoke and fire was still burning within in the boy and he awakened, vowing that he would take revenge.

"I knew you would come," Kwon Jaemin eyes glowed a burning red as he observed each boy. "And you've brought company too,"

"We end this now, Jaemin," Felix said, fiercely. "You have done enough,"

"Fools," Jaemin breathed. "You think you can defeat me simply because you're greater in number?"

"The power you've created over time is evil," Changbin snarled. "Far worse than what we could do,"

"Your ambition killed you," Jisung spat.

"But not before us," Hyunjin hissed.

Jaemin said nothing as his eyes landed upon the youngest of the boys.

"The guardian angel," He smiled wickedly. "I hear you're Yeseul's boyfriend, tell me, is she as stunning in bed as she looks?"

"Shut. Your. Mouth," Jeongin snarled.

"This ends now, Jaemin," Chan finally spoke, Minho glaring at the Kwon boy.

A flash of lightning and the roar of thunder indicated the start of another battle, a battle that the group of eight swore they would win.
