20 - The Fallen Angel

The two males were glaring at each other, venom dripping in their expressions as they both held back unreleased anger that had built up over time.

"Don't call me that!" Chan hissed, making sure that Yeseul was behind him, away from harm's way.

"Why not? You didn't have a problem with being known as one of the most prized angels back then!" Jaemin snarled, his voice deadly and low.

"We aren't doing this now," Chan growled, equally as angry. "Watch your mouth and your back, Kwon,"

With that, Chan opened the door, making sure that Yeseul had climbed in, before shutting it firmly, glaring once more at the law student before getting in himself, speeding away.

Jaemin watched as the SUV rolled away from the university, his thoughts filled with memories.

Memories that tormented him to the core.

...

"How do you know Kwon Jaemin?"

They were all at Felix's apartment, the atmosphere tense and dark, as though a cloud was blocking any good thoughts from their minds. Yeseul was seated on the couch, the oldest of the eight boys questioning her.

"H-He's a senior in my university," She answered honestly. "I've only talked to him a couple of times. What's wrong?"

Chan and Minho exchanged looks, bad looks as the rest of them watched in confusion.

"I thought you killed him," Minho muttered. "Apparently not,"

"I promise in the name of the Lord that I did!" Chan exclaimed. "I don't know how..."

"Unless he has something stronger on his side," Minho said, darkly. "Unless he has him on his side,"

The Bang boy shook his head, his blond locks bouncing along with him. "There's no way that he would ever join Jaemin. He doesn't deal with the weak,"

Minho scoffed as he threw himself on the couch. "He's weak but it turns out he's alive after you claimed you killed him,"

Just as he was about to open his mouth, Seungmin interrupted them. "Will somebody please explain what on earth is going on?"

The older boy looked at each other once more, concern evident in their eyes, wondering whether they should reveal the truth.

"We were the first ones to be sent down to earth, right?" Minho asked, not a single soul answering back. "Before the two of us were sent, there was somebody else with us, an angel,"

"That angel was Kwon Jaemin," Chan sighed, softly.

"The three of us were going to be the ones leading this whole thing," Minho continued. "We were preparing for our mission and everything was going smoothly. Until Jaemin got a little hungry, hungry for power,"

"Jaemin was always the more ambitious one out of all of us, but I guess he just didn't know where to draw the line. He began to think dangerously, wanting to take the position of the Archangels, or even the position that only the Lord holds,"

"The Lord found out of course," Chan mumbled. "His anger was so great that one could feel it even from the very depths of Heaven. He ordered for me to throw him from our home, to kill him,"

"But Jaemin begged to not be stripped of his powers, to be given to my home instead," Minho grimaced. "Hell,"

"H-He turned into a demon?" Jisung was wide-eyed. "How? I've never seen him,"

"His request was granted and the boy was given a chance in Hell, but even the lake of fire was not enough for him. He wanted to rule over, his ambition did not die down. So he escaped,"

"He came to earth, didn't he?" Yeseul said slowly, beginning to piece things together. "He came here, and pretended to be a law student,"

"Not at soon as he came," Chan corrected. "But, yes, he did come here, and he lived a lavish life before settling onto Seoul National University as a student. He feeds on sin, you see, when one gets drunk, they may do things that they might regret, things that aren't considered good, and he feeds on it, that's how he retains his power,"

"And what is he after now?" Hyunjin narrowed his eyes. "What does he want with all of us,"

Minho looked each and every one of them in the eye.

"He wants to kill us,"
