2 - You Can Sleep on the Couch

Yeseul's jaw was wide open as she stared in complete disbelief at the boy on her bed, who looked unfazed.

"By the way," He added. "Do you have any pyjamas? I don't really want to sleep in jeans all night,"

"W-What are you- why are you...can you please explain what you're doing in my bed?" Yeseul protested, her hands reaching for her straightner on her vanity table as a form of self-defence.

"Were you not paying attention?" Jeongin asked, an innocent glimmer in his fox-like eyes. "Like I said before, I'm a guardian angel. More specificly your guardian angel,"

"They don't exist," Yeseul shook her head, furiously. "They're just stories,"

"Not exactly," Her 'angel' shrugged. "We exist, yes, but we don't exactly appear to everyone. A guardian angel is sent out when their human is in danger or needs help, we give and guide you on the right path, that's why I'm here,"

"B-Because I'm in danger?" Yeseul asked, softly.

Jeongin paused, not wanting to frighten the girl as much as he had already did. "I don't know," He hesitated over his words. "We'll have to wait and see,"

The Jeon girl scanned the boy from head to toe. He looked like the average boy, apart from the fact that he was indeed stunning, brilliant visuals etched across his face.

So he wasn't the average boy.

"I don't think I can believe you," Yeseul murmered. "If people have guardian angels then why don't I see them to other people?"

"Because we decide when we want to be seen," The boy answered, a small frustration building in his tone. He was growing tired. "You really don't believe me?"

Yeseul met his eyes, a glowing onyx. She shook her head.

Almost at the speed of light, she was pinned down to the bed, the boy hovering over her, eyes glowing his blue hair tousled as he smirked, his frame illuminating the room where the lights had been switched off without Yeseul's touch.

"Believe me now?" He whispered, his eyes no longer innocent, rather, teasing.

Yeseul's breathing was growing faint at the mere distance between them, as she nodded, frantically.

"I believe you,"

Satisfied with the answer, Jeongin pulled off of her, and sat back on the bed, hugging the fox toy before switching the lights back on again, not even needing to push the switch.

Yeseul cautiously pulled herself up, brushing her shoulders as she stared at the boy who had returned to his trustful look.

"If," Yeseul bit her lip. "If you're an angel, then, where are your wings?"

At the mention of his wings, an unreadable expression made its way upon Jeongin's face. Almost as though it was paining him.

"My wings aren't for human eyes," The Jeon girl was caught off by his cold tone. "It's nearly nine thirty. Aren't you going to sleep?"

"Umm, I will," The female looked at the angel. "Where are you staying?"

At her question, the male started laughing, his fox eyes crinkling in pure amusement.

"Did I say something funny?" Yeseul chuckled awkwardly, fidgeting with the ring on her finger.

"I don't have a place to stay, Jeon Yeseul," Jeongin leaned back in the bed. "So, do you think I can stay here?"

Yeseul's instant thought was no. The boy couldn't possibly stay with her. What if Iseul came about in the middle of the day and saw him? She would be dead. Yet, her heart felt bad, and she wasn't the type to turn people away. She couldn't just leave him to fend for himself...

"I have some spare clothes," She said, softly. "Is it okay if you sleep on the couch?"

Jeongin's eyes twinkled. "No problem,"

With a small smile, Yeseul pulled out some of Iseul's clothes from her cupboard, passing them to the angel who looked at the clothes distastefully.

"You're giving me his clothes," Jeongin raised an eyebrow. "The one who hurt you and yelled at you?"

The Jeon girl froze at his remark, her back towards him. "H-He doesn't hurt m- "

"Don't lie to me, Yeseul," The Yang boy's voice was sharp. "One of the commandments in the Bible. And yes, I heard it all,"

"I'm fine," The girl insisted. "We just argued, that's all,"

Jeongin hummed before he stood up from the bed. "I'm going to get changed,"

"The bathroom's on the left,"

...

"Have a goodnight," Yeseul smiled softly as she switched the lights off, engulfing the apartment into darkness.

"You too,"

As she climbed into her own bed, the Jeon girl felt strangely more reassured with the knowledge that not only an angel was in the next room, but that for once, she might just feel safe from Iseul.
