About two hours have past and it's growing darker. Misook settled on the couch and turned on the TV. I decided to take a seat on the chair next to her.
"He can't do that!" she yelled at the TV.
"Well, it looks like he just did," I chuckled.
"NO!" Misook took in a handful of popcorn while chewing angrily.
My laugh continued.
Misook collapsed back against the couch with a sharp exhale. Inna flinched at her sudden action and jumped off of her cushion.
After a deep sigh, Misook stood from the couch while stretching.
"I'm getting tired. How about you my Inna?" she asked the cat in a baby voice. Inna licked her own nose, not understanding anything.
Misook stroked the cat's head and walked into her room. I peeked behind me to see her started to tug of her shirt. I quickly turned back and got up. I walked to the other side of the room, so she was out of sight.
Even if she doesn't know, or showing her acknowledgment of my presence, I can't just sit there when she's in need of privacy.
Misook walked out of the room dressed in pajama shorts and a sweatshirt. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun with shorter hairs framing her face. Misook's light make-up was washed off making her look fresh and pure. She held up the remote and flipped to a new channel.
"... as the boy, Lee Jeno; eighteen years old, turned, his tires must have slipped on the wet pavement last night due to the rain. His car was sent tumbling off the road into the ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene considering his horrible state. What a terrible ev-"
She clicked the TV off.
The last thing on the screen before it went black was a car.
My car.
It was in terrible condition, and completely bent out of shape.
A horrible shiver traveled through me.
If I was pronounced dead, how am I here? How am I standing right here if I'm dead?
What am I?
