"Is she actually asleep like that?"

"I told her so many times to not fall asleep on that chair. She complains about her back after."

"Should we wake her up though. I highly doubt she's had enough sleep."

"What makes you say that?" I groan softly, annoyed by the voices that were ticking me off as I turned around in the chair to face the back, pulling the blanket over my head. "Loki, just get her up. I got business to attend to."

"Why me?" I sigh from the peaceful silence, lucidly going back to sleep but I feel someone hover over me. I try to ignore them, feeling something soft and feathery like twitch on my nose causing me to sneeze out. I bury my head in my arms, hiding my face and I hear someone snicker, pulling on my pinkie toe and tickling my feet as they stuck out from my blanket.

"Stop it!" I whine out, curling further into a ball on the sofa.

"How you fit in that small chair like a sleepy cat amazes me." I wave at the person to make them go away before I hug my pillow. Some time goes by and it was eerily quiet... too quiet. I turn back around to stick my hand out and blindly search for the clock on the coffee table, pulling it under my blankets to see that it was 9 in the morning. I sigh out and decide to just fall back asleep.

I don't know how much time had gone by for the few sacred minutes of sleep I got until I felt someone brush my hair away from my face. "Darling..." I snap my eyes open, my heart racing at the familiar nickname and I look up to see Loki leaning over me. My mind flashes once to a scene where future Loki woke me up the very same way, so sweetly and gently knowing I hated being woken up.

He's not him. Just stop it.

"What are you doing?" I notice the faraway look on Loki's face as his fingers brush against my cheek and he quickly jumps back, shocked at his own actions.

"Nothing." he says, trying to look nonchalant. "The Agent wants to see you so get ready."

"Fine." I grumble as I get up from the chair, the blanket falling on the floor. I yawn and stretch, noticing Loki staring at me with pink cheeks and I raise a brow at him. "What are you still doing here?" He breaks out of his trance as I fix my fallen straps, leaning over to pick up the blanket from the floor to fold it. "Meet me in about 20 minutes and I'll take you to the cafeteria." Loki just nods and rushes out of my bedroom.

I quickly get dressed after refreshing myself in the bathroom, getting out of my bedroom to see Loki looking out at TVA again. He was dressed in some brown slacks and a tucked-in white shirt, wearing boring modern clothes rather than the fancy leather suit he came in. He somehow made the outfit look good on him, his hair simply brushed back with a few strands falling beside his face.

I had the sudden urge to brush his hair back behind his ears and I had to stop myself from walking over to him, frowning as I looked away. "Ready?" I speak up and Loki looks at me, nodding. He quickly runs after me as I walked to the elevator, fixing my baggy shirt I wore over my tights and sneakers.

"Do you not wear the uniform like everyone else?" Loki asks and I shake my head as we get in the elevator and I press the bottom floor.

"You should've seen me the first few weeks here. They forced me into these work skirts like the other girls in here and I hated it. Threw a fit and burned them, especially the heels, until they gave me whatever I wanted." Loki chuckles and I smile at him.

"I see you prefer comfort over clothes that drown out individuality."

"Exactly my point!" I point to Loki as we walk out and I lead him to the cafeteria to see Mobius already waiting for us in line. "Want to go in line with us or do you want to find a table?"

"I'll find a table..." Loki looked unsure and he walks off as I head through the line to wait with Mobius.

"Where is he?" I look over the multiple heads to see Loki sitting somewhere in the far back corner.

"Towards the back." Mobius nods.

"So how are you-"

"-cut the fucking bullshit Mobius. Why does Loki know me?" He finally breaks and even though I knew, I wanted to hear it from him.

"He is-becomes your husband." I narrow my eyes at him, waiting for something else.

"Why didn't you tell me? Why did you freak out when I took over his transition?"

"I didn't want you to recognise him. I didn't want you getting hurt." I was unsure where Mobius was going through with this. "I didn't want you accidentally falling in love with him again."

"Mobius, you're like twice my age and I know for a fact that I don't like you like that." I hag in disgust as he rolls his eyes at me.

"It's not like that, plus I don't like you like that either, it's just that... he's not your husband."

"Ok, what are you on about-"

"-he's not him." I finally get what he was on about. "He may look like the Loki you fell in love with in your future life but he's not him. I don't want you to have your hopes up or something, expecting this version of Loki to love you just like his other self did."

"You don't have to worry about that Mobius. I know that and I'm sure we don't feel that way to each other." Mobius nods and continues walking down the line as I turn around to face Loki. He finds my eyes and waves at me and I smile sadly.

I know he's not him.

But I can't help hoping as I waved back at Loki.

"A classroom? I know for a fact that I possess more knowledge than the two of you combined but you want me to learn what exactly?" Loki was not amused as we stood in a classroom with other people waiting for Miss Minutes.

"This is just a part of your training. You need to understand TVA as a whole, understand the processes and policies and how we work here. Plus some other things." Mobius explains and I can see Loki just regretting his decision of saying yes.

"Yeah, it's a long process before you're allowed on the field."

"Do I have to?" Loki whines and we both nod, him grumbling as he sits down in the back row. I was about to leave but Mobius drags me back inside the classroom.

"Oh no, you aren't going anywhere. You have to keep an eye on him."

"What!? Why!?"

"Because I said so. Plus he's been behaving well with you around." Loki smirks at me and I sigh out.

"Fine, fine." I wave Mobius off and I lean on the wall next to Loki, not really eager to sit down next to him.

"Miss (y/n), how lovely to see you again. Please take a seat next to Mr. Laufeyson, this may be a long lesson." I grit my teeth and plop myself next to Loki as he snickers.

"Don't worry. I don't bite, unless you beg me for it." I bristle as Loki purrs in my ear and a shudder runs through me.

"Face the front and pay attention." Loki peers at me before leaning back and shrugging. Throughout the lesson, Loki and I progressively get more and more bored as we lay our heads on our arms that are splayed out on the desk.

"This is so boring..."

"How do you think I felt. I'm sure you're gonna remember all this like a champ where I forget things so easily I had to take notes."

"You took notes!?" Loki gasps and Miss Minutes shushes him.

"How else was I going to remember everything? I wouldn't be allowed on field if I didn't."

"You could lend me your notes instead and we don't have to come back here."

"I can give you my notes that's fine, not sure how they'll help you though, but Miss Minutes marks your attendance."

"You must be kidding me!"

"(y/n) and Loki, please do not interrupt the class." Miss Minutes shushes us again. "If I catch you again, detention."

"Oh god, it's high school all over again, even if I don't remember going to high school."

"I can see you as the submissive student. Very diligent and eager to not disappoint their professor." Loki whispers and I glare at him.

"Are you horny 24/7 or what my guy. And no, I am not that kind of student." I hiss out but I could feel a blush growing on my cheeks.

"Well prove it then." Loki leans back and I wasn't sure when he was so close to me. I look around and snatch someone's paper and rubber. I wrap the rubber in the paper, making a weighted paper ball.

"Oh, I'm gonna prove it to you." I hiss out before winding my arm back and pelting the ball across the room at the back of Miss Minutes head.

"Now who's the little imbecile that threw that!?" Miss Minutes fumes, turning big and red as she turns around and everyone points at me.

"And that's my cue to dip!" Loki suddenly grabs my hand and I run out of the classroom with him, the both of us laughing.
