I shot up quickly on the bed, panting and looking around in fear and I hear a distorted voice trying to calm me down. Darkness had consumed my vision until it slowly faded away and I see Natasha standing in front of me. I couldn't hear her voice, seeing her arms and mouth move around.

"You're safe sweetheart." her voice suddenly filter through my ears and I let out a sigh of relief as she places her hands on my cheeks. I lean my head on Natasha's shoulder, just relieved to see that she was ok as she ran her fingers through my hair.

"You good kid?" I look over and I see Clint laying on a bed as his wound was being fixed.

"I should be asking you that. You got shot." Natasha lets me go and gets me a drink.

"And you look like you're in inner turmoil." Clint chuckles lightly and I roll my eyes, sipping on my drink. I peer past him through the wall of glass and I see Tony and Bruce working on the mind stone.

"Fuck!" I quickly jump down, stumbling over my feet and ignoring Natasha as she called for me when I ran out of the infirmary room. 

I quickly ran down the stairs to their lab that had the sceptre behind them. "-artificial intelligence." I hear Bruce mutter out and I gasp.

"DON'T!" I scream out, almost scaring the grown men as they look at me with wide eyes. "Do not, I repeat, do not mess with that! Scrap your Ultron idea now!" I pant out.

"This could be it, (y/n). This could be the key to creating Ultron."

"I know you think that now but you are walking down a dangerous line Tony." I shake my head but he just doesn't want to listen to me.

"If we can harness this power, apply it to my Iron Legion protocol-"

"-Tony no." I hiss out and he glares at me but I know his actions were being driven from the fears that were shown to him by Wanda.

"What if the world was safe-"

"-the world is never going to be safe no matter what you do Tony! It never is and it never will be because you know why?" I stare down Tony, slowly getting agitated and he slowly backs away from me. "Because of us! Because of humanity! We are the cause and the result. We constantly hurt each other and we constantly build weapons that we think will help the world but bring it one step closer to its end!" I could feel my temper rising again as I got closer to the sceptre, the voices begging me to grab it.

"(y/n), you're getting frustrated-" I cut off Bruce, warning him with a snap of my powers that burst from my hands like a firework.

"Do not play god Tony." I flinch as the voices end up screaming at me the closer I got to it, amplifying my powers as my skin burned white.

"(y/n), you need to get away from the sceptre. It's taking a hold of you." Bruce mutters out softly as he walks closer to me, gently holding my hands. "Just breathe. I know it can be hard to rein in your temper. I get it." He smiles at me and I let him lead me away from the lab. I feel calm wash over me instantly and I let out a huge breath, weight lifting off my shoulders. "Better?"

"Better." I nod as Bruce leads me to the open balcony on the floor we were on. "I know I shouldn't be messing with the story plot. I know I shouldn't be interfering." I sigh out, feeling slightly frustrated.

"So we need to continue with Tony's idea to revive Ultron for this to continue?"

"Unfortunately."

"I'll make sure to keep Tony in check (y/n)." Bruce ruffles my hair, beaming at me. "I promise to make sure he doesn't screw it up." I frown at Bruce's promise knowing he won't be able to keep it. Before he heads back inside, I grab his arm.

"Bruce..." He turns to look at me. "No matter what happens, you don't need to feel like disappearing. We all care about you." I smile at him and Bruce smiles back at me sadly before walking inside and I stay out on the balcony.

This is going to be a long one...

I don't know what time it was as I furiously kicked a battle robot that launched at me, deafened by the music playing in the soundproof room. I had lost track of time, guessing it had been hours but I couldn't tell if it was night or day since there were no windows in the room.

I couldn't sleep, wouldn't sleep as I tried to keep that nightmare far from my head. I growled out as I continuously punched the battle robots that swarmed around me, trying to get a hit on me. I ripped them apart with my hands, shredding them to pieces and chucking them away behind me. I heaved heavily, absolutely furious and filled with anger as the robots around me stood still and waiting to attack me.

Angry at myself.

Furious at myself.

Frustrated with myself.

I hated myself.

Loathed myself.

I levitated all the robots easily, angrily throwing them to the wall behind me as I yelled out. They lodged into the wall, fizzing and twitching, metal parts dropping to the floor as more battle robots surrounded me once again.

I wiped the sweat from my brows, my whole body burning with white and black streaks as they sizzled across my skin painfully but I ignore them as I raged on the new swarm of robots. I hovered in the air, waiting for the room to be filled with these machines that continuously fired at me.

Wind quickly whipped around me as my powers started building dangerously quick. The room glowed a dangerous bright glow as my whole body turned white and black. The white and black streaks quickly consumed my body, swirling around me like dangerous vines.

"I think there's a flaw in my code. These voices won't leave me alone."

I mimicked the words that were on repeat around me, feeling my powers slowly consume my mind.

"Well, my heart is gold and my hands are cold."

I laugh maniacally as I see the robots below me freeze, a large burst of power exploding around me since I couldn't hold it in anymore. The robots all fly away from me, shattering into pieces against the wall and that's when the door slams open.

"(y/n)!?" The avenger's filter in with their pj's, their eyes wide as I smirk at them as my powers swarm around me. A tornado built up quickly, spinning and pulling the robots around as they slammed and exploded against each other.

"You can't wake up, this is not a dream. You're part of a machine, you are not a human being. 

With your face all made up, living on a screen. Low on self-esteem, so you run on gasoline."

My voice echoed like a demon as I mocked myself with the words and everyone looks at me in fear as I absorbed the powers and another explosion burst from me as everyone gets knocked over.

"(y/n)!" I groan as I fall from the air, my back slamming against the floor and my powers quickly dissipated.

"Don't touch me!" I hiss out angrily as Steve and Clint tried to pick me up and they jump back before I could kick them.

"(y/n) calm down-"

"-no I won't calm down!" I snap at the avengers and they stiffen as if they were ready to defend themself against me. Tony must have realised and quickly shook his arms.

"(y/n), you know we won't ever hurt you." He signals the others to lower their arms and I back away as he takes a step towards me. "(y/n)-"

"-you all would've turned your back on me the second I got violent just to fight me..." I mumble out, a pang in my chest and everyone looks guilty. 

Of course they would, you're a monster.

"You don't care about me..."

Why would they care about you? You're no one.

"(y/n), don't say that, of course we do." Natasha speaks up and I smile at her sadly.

"No, keep your guard up around me. You'll be prepared to kill me when you need to."

"We won't kill-"

"-and if I asked you to." I snap quickly and everyone freezes at my remark. "If one day, I am the cause of everything and the only way you can save the universes was to end my life. And I begged you to do it, will you or will I have to do it myself?" I hiss lowly and Tony furrows his brows.

"There won't be a day like that." I straighten myself up, my face devoid and blank as I gave everyone a stony look.

"You and I both know that day is inevitable. I was supposed to die." I walk past the avengers through the wall, ignoring their calls for me as I flew out from the Avengers Tower and into the night.
