"We just crossed... the threshold..." the man says in shock and I knew he was talking about Dr. Strange's spell going haywire since Peter couldn't shut up, the multiverse breaking.
"The timeline is branching..." I sigh out, watching as wisps of the timeline free themselves from the ring, spreading further apart.
"So, I fibbed. I fibbed earlier when I said I know how everything's going to go. I... I know... I knew... everything up to a certain point, and that point was about... seven, eight, nine, ten seconds ago. " The man chuckles and I turn back to him.
"Now you have no idea what's going on. So that whole speech was for nothing." I growl out and this dude had the audacity to shrug. "Your supposed work of killing innocent timelines, just shot up into smoke from one single little boy not being able to keep his mouth shut and you throw in the towel!?"
"And now you're just gonna sit there with all that freedom and... let us decide your fate?" Loki says as Sylvie holds me back from jumping this dude.
There was a brief moment of silence before I exploded. "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" I scream out, ripping free from Sylvie's grasp as I lunged onto the man. Before I could rip his throat out, Loki pulls me back and I yell at him to let me go. "LOKI-"
"-just think about this for a second-"
"-what is there to think about!? I'm going to murder this fucker for ruining my life!" I scream out, breaking free and launching forward but I suddenly get pulled back into Loki's arms again.
"I know he hurt you (y/n), I know he took you away from your world but please let's just talk about this."
"What could you possibly want to talk about with him!?"
"If we kill him, what's going to fill the void-"
"-I DON'T CARE! ALL MY LIFE I HAVE BEEN PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST BEFORE ME EVEN IF I GET HURT!" I cry out, struggling against Loki as I hear the angry whispers in my head again. They urge me to let go, seething as I let them take over me. I was so angry, so hurt that this bastard took everything away from me! "Let me go Loki. I don't want to hurt you." I hiss, ripping his arms off me as I turn around to face him.
He looks at me with wide eyes, sadness on his face as I lost control. "(y/n), please don't do this."
"He deserves to die." My voice distorts as the darkness crawled up my body, my claws slowly piercing through Loki's hands. He winces but he doesn't let go of me.
"I love you (y/n)." I freeze up, frowning as Loki tried to get through to me.
"I'm sorry Loki..." I let his arms go and I turn around to attack the man.
"(y/n) don't!" Loki blocks my attack with his sword, my claws scratching against the surface and I dodge his swings that make me tumble back. I siphon my own sword, swinging at Loki to stop him but I was hesitant. I didn't want to hurt him.
I quickly pick him up and throw him against the wall, crumbling to the floor along with the wall. I send a blast to the man but it collides against a chair that crashes into me. I seethe and rush forward, a dagger in my hand as I raised it up. My attack was blocked again as Loki stood in front of me, his sword pushing back my own.
I move against him but he manages to push me back as he held my arm. "(y/n). (y/n). Please-"
"-just let me through!" I grunt out, Loki grabbing both my wrists in one hand while the other held my shoulder and his sword that angled against my throat.
"You can't do this-"
"-then kill me! Do it!" I screech out and Loki falters, pain in his eyes at that sentence. "Finish me off since I was supposed to be dead anyway! Tumour or not!"
"No..." Loki whimpers and I falter at how hurt he was when I said that. "No..." I shake my head, kicking him back and sending a blast against his chest.
"Now you..." I seethe, dark vines rising behind me as I walked towards the man. "Die." I send them forward to shred the man apart but they quickly stop like second nature when Loki appears in front of me, holding my arms.
"(y/n). Stop. Stop!" I pant out, my hands shaking as Loki moved his hands to hold my face. "Stop... please..." I look up at him. "Just stop..." He moves forward against the vines to step closer to me and they drift away to not hurt him.
"Loki please..."
"I know (y/n), I understand the burning urge to take revenge on someone for ruining your life and I know that he definitely deserves it."
"For once, I just... I just want to hurt someone for hurting me back..." I tremble as I leaned into Loki's hands as he wiped my tears away
"I know but believe me when I tell you it doesn't help. It eats away at you when you realise that hurting someone doesn't stop the pain you feel. It poisons you when you realise you become the person you kill, becoming that same killer."
"He took so much from me..."
"I know darling..." I break down crying as Loki held me and loved me even after everything I've done. "I don't wanna hurt you."
"I don't want to hurt you either..." I hug Loki and he hugs me tight, soothing my hair back. "But it's too late." I grab the Tempad on the desk behind him and open a gateway, my powers lifting Sylvie and Loki to throw them through it.
"(y/n) no!" Loki gasps as I close the gateway, the darkness spilling dangerously around the office. It snuffs out every source of light and I relish in the fear on my tormenters face as I mutate into the monster he created. I grew in size and towered over my tormenter, eyes slanting as I sneer with the large fangs that protruded from my jaw and the large claws that rip through my skin.
"I'll make you wish you never brought me here..." I let out a demonic shrill, sending a wave of darkness to rip through the man as he screamed out.
"(y/n)!" Sylvie runs up to me as I walk through the gateway, hugging me tightly. "You're ok!" I shook in her arms, feeling numb and disgusted as I felt blood drip from my fingers and splatters dry on my face. She leans back to look at me, her eyes wide as mine welled up with tears.
"I..." I choke, gory images flashing through my mind and I knew Sylvie saw them.
"What did you do...?"
"I-" my hands started shaking violently as I remember the scene of shredded body parts being strewn across the office, blood pooling on the floor like some sacrificial satanic ritual gone wrong. "I killed him..." I whisper and Sylvie purses her lips.
"Come on." She leads me to a random bedroom, dampening a towel to wipe the blood off me. "Loki's worried-"
"-wipe my memory."
"What."
"Make me forget... please, I don't want to remember what I did to him..." I flinch as red eyes flash against my mind, claws digging into my head. "Please make me forget, just get rid of it. please I'm begging you."
"I don't know if I can do that-"
"-then put an enchantment to bury that memory so deep it won't come back!" I cry out and Sylvie frowns.
"Ok... I can't get rid of the whole thing but I'll twist it to something you might be able to handle."
"Please just do it." Sylvie nods, holding my head as she closes her eyes. I hold her hands that glowed green, feeling soft wisps spread through my head and ridding me of my self-torment. I could suddenly breathe a little easier, a weight lifted off my chest as my mind cleared a bit.
"I think this should be it..." Sylvie gasps out and I blink at her. "What do you remember?"
"I threw you and Loki through a gateway and I think I killed He Who Remains. I can't remember how but I know he's dead." Sylvie nods, her lips pursed and I look at her with worry when I notice something dark flash across her eyes. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah... I need to take you to Loki. Let's go." I follow Sylvie out of the bedroom and down the chaotic hallways as guards were rushing around in a panic. We find Loki in a library and I sigh in relief. "Loki." he turns around as Sylvie calls for him, his eyes softening in relief when he sees me and I run into his arms as he lifts me up.
"I'm so sorry, for everything."
"I'm just glad you're ok." Loki hugs me tight as I wrap my arms around his neck, him kissing the top of my head. "Don't do that again, please..." I nod against his chest, looking over his shoulder to see Mobius and I beam.
"Mobius!" Loki sets me down and I jump into the old man, hugging him tight but I was confused when he didn't hug me back.
"Sorry kid but who are you?" I blink at Mobius in shock, stumbling back as he gently pushed me away.
"What-"
"-(y/n)..." Loki points to a statue behind Mobius.
"We're too late..." Sylvie gasps as she stood next to me.
"And in the wrong timeline..." I mutter out, looking at the statue of He Who Remains. "It's not over..."
