Lily Xu Adachi's POV:

After the tryouts to enter BC Sol,Krist decided to give everyone a day's break before we head back to our serious training for the European League.

Honey and I were in our dorm,she asked me several questions on what's it like as an actress,I simply replied that it was a tough job and that your time management needed to be top notch if you wanted to be one.

As we were chatting,Honey decided to plait my hair into one braid which length went beyond my shoulder. I politely thanked her before touching my hair.

"You got amazing hands,I wish I got your skills."I commented,completely eyeing my braid as I looked at it. Since I was little,I never really bothered to do anything with my hair since it was always so short.

But after it grew out,I just usually let it down or get it in a bun,nothing over the top,just plain old simplicity.

Currently,everyone except Krist and Free know me as Amy Xu Watanabe,only those two know my real name and my past. But even I want to completely forget everything and just continue my life as Amy.

That's when I stood up and walked out of the dorm with Honey and the both of us headed towards the cafeteria to grab some breakfast.

When we arrived there,Sasha waved her hand to signal the two of us to her table where she already had her food.

After the two of us got our seats,we went over to a counter where we were suppose to get our food. There was a lady whose name was Ange and she was just the embodiment of lovely.

As me and Honey were making our way to our table,we saw Valt,Rantaro and Kitt talking to Ange before joining us.

"GOOD MORNING TO YALL!" Valt cheerfully greeted us as he,Rantaro and Kitt placed their food on the table before sitting down.

"Good morning to you guys too!"Sasha,Honey and me said in unison as they sat down.

Unexpectedly,Krist and Trad came into the dining hall with serious looks on their faces,everyone could tell that they meant buisness.

"I hope you all slept well."Krist commented,upon hearing that,all the bladers in the dining hall greeted both her and Trad with a "good morning"

"Today I have received word that SunBat United had challenged us to a friendly match." Krist explained,making it clear why she looked so serious.

When everyone heard about the friendly match,we all gasped in shock upon realisation that we had an upcoming match.

"Guys,what's a Sunbat?" Valt quietlt asked to which Sasha explained to him that their the hottest team right now,and from what she had heard they were currently scouting unbelievable talent.

"I know its a short notice but there's no reason to decline their offer. There's no sense to waste a good opportunity" Krist continued explaining as she crossed her arms.

"Count me in! I'm game to have a go at em!" Valt loudly exclaimed as he raised his hand while he slightly waved it. His eyes clearly showed that he was excited.

"They don't stand a chance against us two!" Rantaro added on.

But just as those words slipped out of their mouths,most of the bladers around the two of them except for me,Sasha,Honey and Kitt immediately started giving them the silent death glare.

I could even feel the pair nervously sweat after the cold glares they recieved from the bladers,it was intense.

"Please refrain from interrupting the owner." Trad said which made Valt and Rantaro sit back into their seats in slight embarrassment and disappointment.

"You were saying Krist?" Trad asked,edging her to continue with what she wanted to address to the bladers of BC Sol.

"I want to stress that I' counting on you all to win,don't let me down." Krist exclaimed,making sure that her point was clearly heard throughout the room.

That's when Krist handed it over to Trad who proceeded to explain that the match would be held in ten days and that the try outs will be held today to select the bladers to have the honour to represent our club.

"Seriously,another test." Valt silently groaned at the thought of another test,his shoulders slumped while Rantaro did the same. Whereas I kept listening to make sure I didn't miss out on any details.

"The rules are simple,anyone on the B team can participate but first you have to prove yourself against Free!" Trad explained. Upon hearing that,everyone including me erupted into a wave of disbelief that we had to go against him out of all people.

"Odds are slim but they're not zero!"Sasha said with determination and confidence,I looked at her and quickly envied her tenacity. Unlike her I could already start to feel butterflies going round my stomach at the thought that I had to battle him.

"Kunoichi,do you think we can do this?" I whispered to her as I looked at my bey,however I couldn't hear any response or shine from her.

Ever since my father's death,I was never really able to connect with Kunoichi,the last time I did was during the fight with Valt. But even that couldn't compare to the connection we had when I was younger.

I wonder what's wrong...

"We'll judge your overall performance against our top blader,and then we will pick who is going to represent us from there. And those that exceeds our expectations might even be promoted to the top team! So take it seriously!" Trad continued explaining,his tone laced with seriousness about everything that was going to happen.

"You heard that buddy,this could be our big break!" Rantaro said with excitement as he looked at Valt and me since the three of us were still in the B team.

After everyone had their meals,everyone headed to the training hall to prepare for the trials against Free. However,he was late,like usual.

At least that's what Krist told me.

As I was fiddling with Kunoichi,I heard a sharp bang and turned my head to see Valt on the ground while Free was looking down at him.

"Weird,this is way earlier than usual." Sasha commented with a smile while Rantaro replied with a "seriously" in disbelief that the number one player was always late.

"Your late again." Krist reprimanded as she looked at Free who simply replied that he was only three minutes late. But Trad,who supposedly have been counting,accurately pointed out that he was seven minutes and ten seconds late.

"So who am I up against first?" Free asked as he took his spot at one side of the bey stadium as he awaited for his first opponent to step up.

His face still bared the same bored and uninterested expression like always. It even seemed like he did not even want to be here.

And of course the first person who wanted to fight Free would obviously be Valt. And I was right because I can literally see him running towards the stadium while screaming "ME,ME!"

Free De La Hoya's POV:
"Why am I not surprised." I broadly said when I saw that my first opponent was that loud kid Valt.

"I can tell your as pump as I am! Ready?" Valt exclaimed as he showed his bey Genesis Valtryek. "Genesis Valtryek and I have been waiting,its gonna be epic!"

"Its only epic if you win,lets get this over with." I replied,telling him the truth to which I believed in. I already knew I was probably gonna win so I just wanted to get it done and leave.

"You ok dude? Your suppose to be having a good time,no need to be a bummer,beyblade's always fun whether you win or lose." Valt explained while I just looked at him with my head slightly tilted. I found it funny how he could believe that its fun to lose.

I just let out a sigh as I realised that nothing I said would break into that hard headed skull of his.

That's when Trad blew into his whistle and announced that the first one from the block was Valt Aoi who then proceeded to enthusiastically say that he was present.

Kristina Kuroda's POV:

I then looked towards the stadium to see Free holding onto his bey,Drain Fafnir. At that moment,the sound of children's laughs suddenly echoed in my head as I slowly recalled to when I was a child. Back when me,Free and Lily only thought that everything was rainbows and sunshine.

Flashback

8 Year Old Kristina Kuroda's POV:

Lily,Free and I decided to go to the city to see if we could find anyone to fight. When we got there,we saw a group of mean people picking on kids our age.

Lily being Lily,got really angry and kicked a tiny rock at one of their heads. He let out a yell before turning around to loon at her. The kids who were getting cornered quickly ran off while the three mean people walked towards her.

"And who can this tiny pip squeak be?"one of guys said which just seem to  make Lily want to punch them in the face."grew up in the forest or something,you look like a small,fat porcupine."

Before she could say anything,Free stepped forward with his bey,Kerbeus K2 in his hand and said."no one makes fun of my best friend and gets away with it! I challenge you to a battle,if I win you stop picking on others!"

The guy gave an evil smile before looking down at Free."I accept the challenge little man,I can't wait to see you face crying for your mommy later."

Just when Free was about to go towards the bey stadium,I grabbed onto his arm to stop him. I could tell she had a nasty feeling in my stomach that these guys were really bad news.

"Free,grandpa and uncle Shojou are gonna be here soon,lets just wait... these guys look scary." I said,terrified about what might happen to his bey if he would to battle.

"Its ok,I'll be fine."Free replied back with a grin on his face,showing that I did not need to be scared."I need to do this,just think about what might happen to Lily if she got into an actual fight,I won't allow her to get hurt."

When I saw his eyes,I could right away tell that he was serious,I knew him for quite sometime and I already know that he had grew a soft spot on Lily. He really liked her and nothing I said or do would be able to change his mind.

When the two players launched their beys,it was obvious the other guy had the upper hand since he was bigger and stronger. At one point the unexpected seemed to happened and Kerbeus was sent flying out of the stadium and hit a solid hard stone pillar.

It then burst into three pieces,if that wasn't bad enough,Kerbeus's layer broke in half which meant that the bey couldn't be used anymore.

Free's eyes widened in shock as he looked at his broken bey which was on the ground,I could feel the life getting sucked out of him as he looked at his broken,beyond repaired bey.

He then picked it up and continued looking at it,but this time there was tears running down his face.

I was about to go towards Free to comfort him when that mean guy walked towards him. He started making fun of him when Lily walked towards him and stuck Kunoichi towards him. She then challenged him to a battle and without any hesitation started the battle.

"Finish him off Kunoichi!"Lily exclaimed,upon saying that,she won the match with a burst finish. The mean guy then swiped Kunoichi into his hands and refused to return it no matter hard Lily wanted it back.

Talk about being a bully.

Just when Lily was about to attack the guy,Free went up to him and bit him on the arm,making the guy lose his grip on Kunoichi which allowed Lily to get it back.

The mean guy raised his hand and was about to punch Free when Lily quickly pushed him out of the way and instead got hit. When both me and Free saw that,we immediately rushed to her to see if she was ok.

We looked in shock to see a big bruise on her face,yet she just stood up like it was nothing and sent a glare at the mean people."is that all you got! This is nothing!"

Upon hearing that,the mean people looked at Lily and Free with fear in their eyes,as if their scared of them.

"Their monsters!"they yelled

Before things could get even more ugly,Grandpa and Uncle Shojou came and when the mean people saw them,they immediately ran off.

I went up to give my grandpa a hug while Uncle Shojou went to check on Free and Lily."You ok? That seems to hurt."Free,his tone filled with concern,asked Lily who was looking at the ground with guilt in her eyes.

"Ye,I'm fine,I felt worst when falling from a tree but your bey is broken and its my fault." Lily replied with a slight laugh before looking at Free's bey,clearly guilt ridden.

"It's fine,as long as your safe."Free assured her before patting her on the head and giving her a tight hug and released her.

A few days after the incident,I was just talking with Free at the place where we usually hung out when I saw Lily burst through several bushes while holding onto a box.

"Krist! Free! I wanna show yall something!" Lily yelled,her voice filled with excitement as she ran towards us. She then quickly pushed the box towards Free and let go of it making it go into Free's arms.

"Quickly! Open it!"She continued saying as she jumped up and down,the amount of joy could be seen in her actions.

Both me and Free looked at the box while he slowly opened it,when he fully opened it,the two of us awed in shock and surprise.

Inside the box lied a bey which was brand new. The bey was golden in colour with stripes of red,blue and dark blue in places here and there and  accompanied by some dragon claw like features. The middle of the bey had the design of a dragon's head which just make the design of the bey even cooler.

"Papa and I made this bey specially for you...I hope uou forgive me about Kerteus." Lily said to Free as she nervously fiddled with her fingers,her head slightly down in an apologetic manner.

Without saying anything,Free brought Lily in into a hug while placing his chin slightly around her neck."thank you,this means so much to me!" A smile plastered on his overjoyed face.

"So what's its name?"I curiously asked as I looked at Free's new bey after the hug broke apart.

"I'm gonna be honest,I don't know." Lily said as she scratched her hair in embarrassment which made me fall over in disbelief.

"What about Fafnir?!" Free suggested as he held his new bey into the sky,the sunlight glistening off the golden coloured bey.

"What about Drain Fafnir!" Lily popped in with another suggestion after she remembered about Drain Fafnir's abilities.

And that was how Drain Fafnir was born.

End Of Flashback

If it wasn't Lily,Free probably wouldn't be able to get to where he is now,and he should now it better than anyone. I thought as I looked at Free who had just defeated Valt by using Fafnir's spin steal.
