A fragile heart,
Swollen chest,
Torn apart,
A disease infest.
Slowly rise and slowly fall,
Battle for rhythm.
Not to fade, not to stall.
Laughter decrease,
Tired eyes,
Clock decease,
Faint goodbyes.
Slowly rise and slowly fall,
Fate collapse in his hand,
At last, for him she stands.
No more fears,
They surround,
Sudden tears,
Across the ground.
Slowly rise and slowly fall.
Watching in silence while all,
Beating of hearts slow down.
Author's Note:
Thank you for reading. This is another older poem. I really love this one. This is most definitely a grieving poem. I had a loved one who was very sick and showed a very strong face. Near the end they were having a hard time. Their significant other had passed long before them. So, I hoped they found each other in the afterlife. It makes me feel better thinking they are together and happy. Writing is one of my better coping tools to my grievances.
