Anniyah had a great day yesterday, from hearing her husband compliment her to enjoying time with her sister in law and nephews. She ate rice and starters such as samosas, chicken leg and roast potatoes then afterwards for dessert had lemon cake as well as Nutella chocolate cake with tea. Then around near 12am her brother sister in law and nephews left for their home. But this morning when Anniyah went down for sehri (closing the fast) her stepmum said to her to wash her hands and gargle her mouth which she did. Then Anniyah listened to the comments of her stepmum with a heavy heart such as were you asleep your sister said you were, were you reading sabak (reciting Qur'an) or nafl (supererogatory prayers) last night anniyah said no. After that Anniyah's stepmum said you must've gone to sleep with the fan on anniyah said no I didn't. Anniyah's stepmum said I went to sleep for a bit as I felt cold and put the blanket on myself. Anniyah's stepmum then told her to ring her brother to tell him to hurry up so he could come close his fast as there wasn't much time left. Anniyah's brother said to her that if she's going to the bathroom she had five minutes. Anniyah thought why does everyone say stuff to her when she doesn't say anything to anyone. Anniyah didn't want to know but her stepmum had a habit of making everything about herself. Anniyah expressed herself to her sister in law who was her older sister by heart and always listened to anniyah's concerns and was there for her when she needed her. Anniyah performed ablution (wudhu) and prayed the morning prayer, then she cried and spoke to her lord who knew her so well and had always been there for her and would be. Usually she made everyone a part of her prayers but today the anguish of her shattered heart made her forget everyone, be selfish for once and have a heart to heart with her lord (Allah). Her tears fell like rivers into her palms and wet her scarf too, she asked that she be able to face the tests in her path and be a shield for herself.
