20. Why are you doing in my room at this late hour, sir?
Chapter Twenty
Yawning.
Staring at the ceiling.
More yawning.
Sleep didn’t seem to come to me as I laid on my back, watching the dark ceiling. Even when I was exhausted after the long night, I couldn’t fall asleep. Many thoughts roamed around my head in an incessant cycle that seemed endless.
My mind travelled from the strange Sullivan’s twins, to the weird texter, to Lau’s and Jason’s situation and finally ended on Evan and how happy he looked that night.
I wonder what he’s doing right now…
I rolled over to lie on my side and took a look at the window. Cold wind moved the curtains slowly, making them look like small waves. For a moment, I let myself fall back in time. I remembered Evan’s messages on Wattpad, his texts, his calls, the skype call and finally meeting him.
The sexy, mysterious dark poet.
I smiled, closing my eyes. Although, we’d been dating for three months, it felt like it was so much longer. Getting Evan to open up to me had been hard and exhausting but God, it was worth every second of it. His smile rushed to my mind, calming me.
I love his dimples.
I thought dreamily. My phone vibrated under my pillow, I pulled it out and the screen light blinded for a moment. It was a text.
From: Evan <3
You awake?
I smiled like a fool and typed a reply:
Maybe. Why?
Him: Can’t sleep.
Me: Same here :(
Him: Why? Can’t sleep without me? ;)
Me: I could say the same :)
Him: Touché. What are u doing?
Me: Staring at the window. You?
Him: Thinking about sneaking into your room.
Me: :O Disgraceful behavior, Mr. Woods!
Him: Pardon me, milady but seeing you is what I need to find peace and sleep.
Me: Is that is your poetic way to say you want to make out tonight?
Him: Perhaps ;)
I giggled.
Me: I don’t know…
Him: You’re gonna make me beg?
Me: Maybe? The best things in life don’t come easy.
Him: I know. That’s why I’m willing to risk my life for you.
I frowned.
Me: What?
Him: Wait for me. Don’t fall asleep.
Me: Evan, what do you mean by risking your life?
No answer.
I heard something outside my window and I rose to my feet quickly. The nightgown I was wearing fell down my knees, as I headed to the window and pulled the curtains apart. I watched in horror through the glass, how Evan was climbing up the side of the house. What the hell? I leaned out of the window, scared.
“Evan!” I whispered secretively, “What the hell are you doing?”
Evan looked up at me, holding himself up precariously, “Risking my life for you.”
“This is a second floor! Are you out of your mind?” I trembled, picturing the worst scenarios in my head. Evan was only wearing his pajama pants, his pale torso was on sight. His arms shook slightly as the cold breeze blew past him. The weather was not the most appropriate one to do this.
“God, it’s cold!” he whined, biting his lower lip.
“Of course it’s cold, you idiot!” I felt like hitting him on the head. He could seriously kill himself if he lost his balance. He stopped half-way to look up at me, “What?”
“You look gorgeous from here,” he whispered, making my toes curl, “Just like a princess.” He grinned up at me. His dark eyes glowed with honesty. I couldn’t help the grin crawling to my lips.
“Thank you,” I blushed slightly, “Now hurry up,” my heart was in my throat. I was too scared for him.
Evan shook his head, “I’m trying to be romantic here,”
“Try again when your life is not dangling in the air, like literally.”
He started climbing again, “Juliet found this very romantic.”
“Well, she died and Romeo, too. So, you don’t wanna bring that up,” Evan laughed, almost losing his balance, “Evan!” I reprehended in fear.
“I’m alright.” He said, finishing his way up.
When he reached my window, I helped him get inside the room. I rested my back against the wall, sighing in relief. Evan shook as he closed the window.
“You’re crazy,” I muttered, staring at him. He was smiling devilishly, his messy dark hair all over his ears and forehead.
“You’re driving me crazy,” he stared right back at me, his eyes took in my nightgown, “Just seeing you in that made the climb worth it.”
I flushed, “Thank you, Mr. Woods.”
He cocked an eyebrow, “We’re back to Mr. Woods, huh? I like the way it sounds,”
I folded my arms across my chest, “Why are you doing in my room at this late hour, sir?” I liked playing with him.
He passed his thumb over his lower lip, his eyes fixated on me, “Oh I think you know, milady.”
“I do?” I faked innocence. He took a step closer, almost predatorily. Moonlight kissed his defined chest and abdomen, his pajamas pants were hanging too low. I could see that sexy V on his lower abdomen. Everything about him screamed danger, the way he moved, the way he looked at me. He was the walking promise of wild, dirty sex.
My throat was dry and I was soon licking my lips in anticipation. He approached me slowly, giving me time to gaze at the way his muscle flex as he moved.
He didn’t say anything, he didn’t have to. We were talking through our eyes. When he was close enough, he buried his face in my neck, leaving small, wet kisses on it. My heart raced in my chest, as his mouth moved up to my ear. His heavy breath blew past my earlobe, stealing a sigh from me. His hands caressed down my arms tenderly until our fingers intertwined.
He took one of my hands and pressed it against his chest, “Can you feel what you do to me?” I could. His heart was racing as much-if not more-as mine.
He leant back, our foreheads fell against each other. My breath was erratic at this point. I couldn’t take it anymore. I pressed my lips against his, kissing him with all I had. He received me with so much desperation, my knees went weak. Our mouths moved in sync, licking, sucking and nibbling passionately. I was on fire. I opened my mouth for his tongue to dive in and enhanced our sensations.
His hands went down to my thighs to lift me, and I wasted no time on wrapping my legs around his hips. My back crashed against the wall as he pressed himself against me. I moaned in his mouth, my entire body palpitating. I didn’t mind where he touched or licked anymore. I just wanted to feel him, all of him.
He took me to the bed and lied me down. He pushed my nightgown up until it reached my stomach. I pulled myself up by my elbows and watched him as he slid down my panties. I squeezed my legs together in embarrassment.
“Evan,” I started worriedly.
He pushed my legs apart, “Shhh,” he knelt in the middle, “I need to taste you, baby.” I bit my lower lip, “Do you trust me?” I nodded.
And then he proceeded to take me to heaven with his tongue. We didn't go all the way but that was definitely one of the best nights of my life.
The next morning I woke up feeling rejuvenated and happy. I didn’t even mind the warm sun brushing off my face when I opened my eyes. I felt the warmth coming from behind me, I looked down at the strong arm wrapped around my waist. My heart melt in my chest.
This is what I want to wake up to every morning of my life…
Carefully, I rolled over to look at the sleeping man behind me. Evan looked angelic with his eyes closed, his long eyelashes touching his cheekbones. He looked so peaceful. I stroke his cheek lovingly.
A knock on the door snapped me out of my staring moment, “Ms. Jones?” Hector’s voice was like a bucket of cold water.
Oh crap!
I jumped out of bed, panicking.
Evan opened his eyes lazily, “Come back to bed,” he mumbled. I made him a gesture to shut up and he frowned.
“Ms. Jones?” Hector called out once again and Evan’s eyes widened in realization.
We were so getting caught.
“Yes?” I replied, stepping inside my panties to pull them up. Evan was out of bed already, slipping inside his boxers.
“May I come in?” Hector asked as I was putting my nightgown back.
“Give me a minute!” I shouted, pulling my tangled hair into a messy bun. I picked up Evan’s pajamas’ pants from the floor and his phone and then pushed him with them against the window, “You have to go!”
Evan faked hurt, “I feel used, Ms. Jones.”
I rolled my eyes, “Get out!”
Evan glanced through the window, “How? This is too high!”
“You didn’t seem to have a problem last night,” I said hurriedly.
“I was feeling romantic last night,” he explained, “and horny.”
I felt like slapping him right there, “Just get out!”
“Alright! Alright!” he exclaimed, climbing out of the window, pajama pants in hand. Once he was out, I closed the window and pulled the curtains together.
“Come in!” I said, getting inside the bed again. Hector walked in, in all his butler elegance. He looked radiant and clean.
“Mrs. Woods was wondering if you would like to share breakfast with her,” he said, scanning the room. Did he suspect something?
“Sure.” I gave him a close mouth smile.
“She also wants you to wear this,” he placed a bag on the bed, “Since you’ll go horse riding after it.”
Color drained from my face, “Horse riding?”
“Yes, it is the family’s favorite sport.” Hector sounded proud of it, “The Woods have won many trophies all over the world.”
“I’m not sure I can ride a horse but I will be there. Just give me ten minutes.” I said unsure.
Hector smiled at me, “Alright. Have a nice day, Ms. Jones.” He disappeared through the doorway.
Immediately, I ran to the window to see if Evan had reached land safely. I let out a long sigh of relief when I watched him walk through the bushes. He looked beyond funny in his underwear, roaming around the garden.
I opened my window, taking half of my body out, “Pssst, Romeo!” Evan glanced up at me, “Looking handsome in those bushes, babe.”
Evan glared at me, “Yeah, yeah, enjoy it while you can.”
“Oh come on, you know I love you, right?” I was giving him a toothy grin.
He gave me a skeptical look, “You used me, then threw me out of your window, quite literally and you call that love?” he shook his head.
I blew him a kiss, “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
He raised an eyebrow, “Good because I want to put those pretty lips to use.”
My mouth formed an O, “Evan!”
“See you later, peachy girl.” He winked at me.
And there I stood on the window, watching my Romeo walk away in his underwear, cussing as he stepped on thorns.
Lovely…
Well, love doesn’t have to be romantic, it just has to be real.
Xx
