A day of clouds

And rolling rain

Nature and I

A soothing lane

Flashes of light

Rumbling roar

As raindrops pelt

My eyes explore

Rain soaked blue jay

Swoops in for nuts

Temperature drops

And chills wind's gusts

Honeysuckle

Thin branches swing

Cool air is sweet

With blooms of spring

Rain's loud sizzle

Muffles bird calls

Chuckle over

Male sparrow brawl

Robins have built

On drain pipe's bend

Under roof eave

Nest they defend

Blue jays attacked

If they come near

Robins chase jays

'Til all are clear

A willow bush

With dappled leaves

Glows in dim light

As branches weave

Birds keep calling

Despite cool rain

Declare boundaries

Within their reign

Hear tires splashing

On nearby roads

A siren wails

Announcing woes

Soon doors will slam

As folks come home

To fix dinner

Inside their dome

And as sun sets

Clouds break apart

And end my day

With Nature's art
