A dusting of snow

Our roads will be clear

No need for salt throw

I'm up before dawn

Soft glow from outside

Is there a full moon?

Pull curtain aside

My eyebrows shoot up

And to my surprise

An inch of white snow

Snowflakes fall from skies

Challenge for drivers

No treatment on roads

Schools quickly closing

Day schedules implode

Forecasters explain

"Snow over achieved"

Chuckle at statement

As more snowflakes weave

After sun rises

With camera in hand

Pristine view captured

Before footprints land

Then set out brown nuts

And call critters in

Blue jay call answers

I feel my lips grin

Watch squirrels slip and slide

As they jump in haste

Knock snow from branches

As day is embraced

A flash of bright red

Male cardinal swoops in

Chickadee follows

Watch nut feast begin

Then I feel strong urge

To capture snow scene

And share it with you

Tidbit of serene

I take up my -pen

And let the words flow

I hope that they sprout

An inner weave's glow
