Soal
An unknown number popped on screen after Lumina woke her Holo. She thumbed accept and waited for a voice to answer first. It was a rushed, female's voice.
"Hello? Hello?" it asked.
"Hello. Who might this be?" Lumina responded.
"Hi. Yes. My name is Soal Dienze. Might an Hera Lumina Si be there?"
"I thought I told you never to call me Hera the last time we saw each other Soal," Lumina responded, a slight laugh escaping her.
Soal's voice broke into a cry of happiness. "Oh Hera! I thought I'd never hear from you again!"
Lumina's lips spread into a wide grin. Fresh tears leaked from the corners of her eyes. "Oh Soal... After reading that transcript, I thought the same thing. You don't know how reassuring it is to hear from you!"
"When I was taken away by those guards, I did too. But guess what happened?"
"I have no idea. What?"
"I was being escorted to the prison, and the one guard gave the other the slip. Turns out he was a spy."
"Really? But... why?"
"You know silly! It's why you're the leader of Ground 2. To reform planet Earth before Ground 1 obliterates its twin."
That wasn't exactly why she was leader, but it was a plan she wanted to see carried out during her leadership. Actually, it was what most wanted to see happen on Ground 2.
"Oh. Makes sense."
"Yeah. So now I'm within their base of operation, cooking up plans to help them repair the seam that separates the Earth."
"So, what do you have so far?"
"You know that transcript I sent you? That is the key to the planet's repair! We just need a way to move one of the halves closer to the other."
"Just what I was thinking after I read that," Lumina responded, pushing loose articles off the HoloPad's screen.
"Might you have an idea?" Soal asked.
"Not a clue."
"Well it's good Dave does."
"Wait... Who's Dave?"
"Oh. Just the leader of the organization. He was once part of NASA's space station a few years ago."
"Awesome. Another NASA insider."
"Yes... Now he has the idea to disassemble that oxygen tank that sits on your half of the world. With the air built up inside of it, you could use it as a propulsion system for Ground 2."
"So. Instead of disassembling, we just want to fine tune it... But that's our oxygen supply."
"You guys should have enough to propel you the 3,000-mile distance that is between Ground 1 and 2, plus, have enough to breathe. Dave calculated that."
"But will it work?"
"99% sure."
"Where's the other 1%?"
"It could go terribly wrong. But that's only a relatively small chance."
"I guess it's worth the risk then."
"I'd take it."
"So, when's the deadline?"
"A year's time. Before your supply runs out."
"That's plenty of time."
