The Pirates
Finding himself in Spain he began to keep an eye out for the child and her captures, this lead him to the docks where a few ships had been docked. Catching wind that the kidnappers might have gone to Brazil Grismore began looking for passage over the sea. This act would land him on a merchant ship, one with a few peculiar people who worked aboard. Once out to sea, Grismore had learned he was not on just a me merchant ship heading to Brazil, but a Pirate ship. The men were kind enough and willing to be of help where they could on his search. The longer he spoke with them the stranger the ship became.
"We are pirates, aye."
"But we are also merchants."
"You see, we do not tolerate when people steal from us."
"And we get every bit of stolen goods back from the thieves."
"But we are not terrible people, we only board other vessels if they do us or our company wrong."
"Exactly. We only fly under the banner mainly to keep others from boarding us. However, the problem becomes clear when we have to raid a pirate ship for stealing our goods."
"Just because we are friendly does not mean we cannot hold out own. We have been doing this for a very long time." The crew seemed to be so in sync that they continued one train of thought among all of them.
"So if you are not attacking others as pirates do all the time, what do you do in the mean time?" He asked leaning forward, elbows resting on his knees.
"Well, we follow our ships sometimes, or we transport goods ourselves. We are for hire for the most part and we prefer to remain busy. However sometimes we have nothing to do but wait at port until some traveler comes to give us something worth doing."
"Like finding a little girl and reuniting her with her father." One piped up. "Of course no payment necessary as we agreed."
"I will assist you in anything you need if you will not accept payment." Grismore stated and nodded as they agreed. After all they could all use the extra hand.
During the travels Grismore became more and more confident on the deck of the ship. He had become part of the crew during their travels to Brazil. Once there they learned that the group they were following had not in fact been the group with Ainsley with them, they had been escorting a small child to her family that had been banished to Brazil from Spain. Smuggling her out of the country from her captors. This news both disappointed and relieved Grismore. He was happy to hear that she hadn't left over seas as far as anyone knew. He was disappointed because he was hoping he could reunite her with Grant sooner rather than later. The crew of the ship offered to allow Grismore passage back to Spain if that was what he wished. They also gave him the option to stay on board a bit longer and travel the world with him until he deemed it necessary to leave the ship. The later option was taken without a thought. Grismore had nowhere to go and nothing left to do save for help Grant, and that had been taken when the male explained he had to do it alone for a while. He needed something to push him, to drive on. If he knew he had help, Grant was worried he might give up or stop looking.
Staying on the ship for a few years Grismore eventually met the captain daughter who after a raid took over the ship. Welcomed by all that served under her father. She was a smart girl and knew her way around not only the trade but the ship itself. When non of the others felt they could run the ship it fell to her hands.
A year later Grismore found himself in her bed, the fling they had was heated and passionate and lasted two years before he departed from the ship. He had, by the end of his tour helped on several raids and recovered thousands of dollars of merchandise for them, using his powers to keep them shrouded in fog as they approached enemy ships. The battles that ensued always left them unharmed as they sea always swelled at the right moments pitching them out of harms way, or pitching the enemy ship into the line of fire, or into rocks. When he departed the ship he found himself back in London. A place he hadn't been in since the death of King Henry VII. After saying his good byes and wishing them luck he made his way into the city and began his next faze in his life.
