The fight
With a groan and a silent huff he ran a hand over his face and let out a sigh before turning back to the small camp. As he turned he could hear the panicked whispers of the elements, trees and earth helping to carry the wing to his ears. They needed to get moving there was a new target going to be hit and soon. Getting everyone together they rushed as quickly as they could to Paris. There they met the others who had been terrorizing the humans and pushing them off the streets into houses and buildings for mass killings. Some bodies already lay lifeless on the ground between them.
"It is time to end this!" The older woman called across the square that had met in.
"Are you here to stop us old woman? Or perhaps your new pet Grismore will?" They taunted. "We know he would have never made that decision on his own to defy us!"
Stepping forward Grismore simply smiled and tilted his head slightly to one side. Shoulder length brown hair falling around his face as he did so.
"You think I cannot make decisions on my own? You think I would just ignore the fact that you chose France as your first attack? My home as your first place of destruction?" Stepping up again he unbuttoned the gray jacket he wore and let it fall to the ground at his side. Rolling up his sleeves he smiled and glanced to the sky as lightning struck down almost on top of the others facing him. The leader stepping to the side with only half a second to spare him. A fireball was thrown in Grismore's direction only to be stopped by the old woman he had been speaking with. [Name both leader of dark elementals and the old woman at a later date.] Somewhere behind his right shoulder a round of ice went shooting across the square only to be melted by a strange bird looking man in a feather cape. At least Grismore hoped it was a cape and nothing more. Shaking his head as something hit him in the chest he looked down to see a fire ball burning his clothes but not him. Patting it out he smiled and bowed his head to the female that had attacked him. "Next time, try a little harder." He mused dryly before holding a hand out almost like he had claws. Turing it so his fingers faces the sky he watched as the earth priced through the ground and into their bodies. A few died on impact, others were only injured. Pierced through an arm or a leg even the stomach leaving them capable of fighting. Once more the leader had managed to avoid injury.
Others behind him waited for a sign to go and fight, not just volley out random shots. Grismore had been testing to see if a battle was necessary. When a tree to his left and slightly behind him exploded, he assumed retaliation for his attack. That was until the bark and shattered branches turned into a bug like creature. Golems. Someone could create Golems. Searching the group that was attacking he found him. A child, or at least a young man sitting with a piece of wood in his hands whispering to it. Turning to face the Golems he held his hands out to his side and tapped into a bit of knowledge he was only vaguely aware of. Breaking through the surface of the earth, seeping between the cobble stones, magma began to form into small little beings that mirrored the wooden ones. Giving a silent command Grismore turned to face the boy once more. His own Golems taking over the ones that were attacking his people.
Walking across the the courtyard he could feel others following him. Soon they were all in a mass of chaos. Flashes of fire, ice and lightning surrounded him as he looked around for the man who lead the others. Finding him just as he took the life from the old woman he growled low. The sound echoing off the cobble stones and brick walls of the square.
Making his way through the square sending gusts of wind to anyone who got in his way. Pulling out a sword the other man met Grismore's as it formed mid air in his grip. They faced each other with blades locked for a heart beat before pushing back. Grismore shifted slightly so his defensive position could easily switch into an offensive one.
As the other man lunged at him Grismore retaliated by stepping into the attack. The sword in the other mans hand slipped into Grismore's stomach and protruded out of his back. But the dagger that had appeared in his hands just as the sword slipped into his flesh, had slipped into the other males chest cavity. Twisting it to the right Grismore watched the life seep from the other man.
"Elements are not needed to take over the world, it would not take much from one like you if you used your head. But you lost your chance and now your army has no one to lead them.." He whispered as the other man sank to the ground gurgling on his own blood. The sounds of a struggle slowly faded as the others noticed what had happened. Pulling the sword from his body Grismore inhaled deeply only for the air around him to fail in healing him. It had stopped major bleeding enough to slow his death but not enough to get him clear of a threat.
A hand touched his shoulder and for a moment he thought it was a new attacker. As he turned to attack them he stopped and watched as the others who were determined to take over dropped their hands to their sides. Their leaders blood seeped into the ground mixing with the blood of others who had died on either side. The battle hadn't lasted long, but when a battle of power took over it never lasted long. Never needed to, one power tended to out way the other. Or there became so much chaos and lack of structure the attacks fizzed out just as it had the moment a leader had fallen.
