By the end of Henry's reign Grismore said his goodbyes the day after the funeral and made his leave to a new land. Finding himself in Italy of all place he met a man by the name of Ortega. He calls himself the Doctor, and after figuring out Grismore was not human purely by accident. (Or so he claimed.) The began to work together. Grismore helping him investigate odd happenings around the continent. Getting notice of a girl in Rome who was acting strangely and doing strange things such as floating above her bed they made their way to her to see what was going on. It was later learned that she had been possessed by a demon who had been trying to make its way into their realm. The Doctor being well versed in possessions managed to free the girl from the Demons grip, her father unable to pay the normal fee to help her simply gave the girl to Ortega as payment. And when both men tried to refuse the man threatened to kill her. Begrudgingly they accepted her and soon taught her everything she needed to know to guard herself while she learned the trade.

The next investigation lead them into Moscow Russia, an epidemic of bodies had been found all throughout the city missing blood. The problem was so wide spread that the priest who had noticed felt the need to call in the special investigators. On their arrival the girl Corlia who had joined them was taken by a group of Vampires and nearly killed. Grismore and Ortega had found her just in time to save her life. Grismore being the most knowledgeable of vampires and meeting them with greater abilities began to negotiate with them, any one who didn't agree to the terms or broke the agreement would be killed. And most of the group was leaving only a few left to follow the agreement. They were to only take what was needed to survive and not take the life of the human they used. This was a flawed plan but it was better than nothing. In Romania they investigated in influx of newborn Vampires and again Grismore was the one who took control, that was until Corlia was taken once again only this time they had been to late to save her from her fate. They had attempted to turn her, the group of newly turned vampires. But the process had failed due to her still being fully recovered from the last attack and the possession had made her more susceptible to death.

Funeral arrangements were made from her and an elder Vampire had crossed the path of the new vampire colony. Grismore having a conversation with the man convinced him to stay near by and train them in how to control themselves. Grismore had recognized the man from the Battle in Paris that had nearly killed him. He wasn't an elemental but he had seem the man take up arms to protect the humans and this was the deciding factor to ask the man for help. After helping them to set up and get started on training and places to stay out of the way of most humans, Grismore and Ortega made their way back to Italy to inform her family of her death.

On their travels to Italy they came across a lycan pack in the most unlikely place. A small village on the edge of Hungry and Slovania. While in this particular village and out break of rabies emerged leaving both men to scramble to get ahead of it and neutralize the problem. The Doctors medicine was beyond their time and understanding so the real fight was convincing the group to allow the treatment to happen. When they finally did get not only permission but treatment administered. they had lost over half of the Lycan pack that had been infected. Soon after the loss the pack ran both The Doctor and Grismore from the village threatening them with death should they ever return.

After they left the two men continued on their journey towards the small Italian village the girl had come from. When they went to go find the family they had learned that they had left. moved away in fear the girl would return with her demon. In the town of Terni just north of Rome they met a boy names Louis. He had come from France to meet with the Vatican. Both Grismore and the Doctor felt as if they needed to hear the boys story, so they sat in a restaurant and listened to his story.

As a boy Louis learned he could do amazing and interesting things. As he grew so did the power and it turned darker. His father, he explained was a drunk, and would come home to beat his mother and sister. Louis went off to a boarding school. One day Louis came home early for holiday and seen his father beating on his mother. A wave of anger took claim to his mind, and the next thing he knew his arm was out stretched and his father was on the floor turning red. His skin boiling and blistering as if he were being cooked alive. He said there was no words exchanged, his father had no warning he was even there so all he could do was lay in silence and gurgle anytime he tried to talk. Within minutes the man was dead, fully cooked and still smoking.

They had buried the body in the back woods behind their home and never spoke of it again. He had heard a place called the Vatican in Rome could help him with his ailment, but they refused to see him. They had assumed his requests for help were nothing more than a joke as there were no other incidences due to their silence. The Doctor, despite Grismore's attempts to sway him, took the boy in as an apprentice thinking his power could come in handy. Grismore had seen this boy was still far from true control and could see him haring anyone they tried to help. Trying to convince the Doctor to just help the boy get in to be seen by the Vatican, Grismore was dismissed and told to accept the boy or leave. Not feeling right leaving the boy alone with the Doctor Grismore stopped fighting him and simply tagged along to watch the boy and try and teach him control.

This didn't last long. The boy became irate and agitated with Grismore and during one of the investigations the boy had attempted to stop an attack on a girl and instead of stopping the man doing the attack he had killed the Doctor instead. Turning his power in on himself Louis held his hand to his temples and Grismore watched his head explode, unable to do anything to stop it. After the deaths of both of his companions Grismore began to wrap up the issue alone and even helped with clean-up and stopping the attacks.
