Chapter 1: Fear
I brushed my hair out of the way and stared up into the sky. I was by the tree I loved and held dear to me. The only thing that kept me from leaving was this tree and starry sky.
My family is downright awful. They treat me like I'm invisible and have no meaning to them. My friends at school, if you can even call them that, always make fun of me just so they can have a good laugh among themselves. Ha ha. Don't know what I'm doing that's laughable, but I guess I'm just hilarious, aren't I?
Things haven't always been this way. My friends used to like me. But ever since high school started they've been making fun of me. It's really driving me crazy. What can I do to not be a joke? Nothing? Okay.
I feel a strange sense of hatred for them now. Boy oh boy do I hate them. But I can't leave them. If I do, they'll turn the whole school against me. They're all over the monsters that came here. In fact, one monster sort of replaced me. They always ignore me now and talk to them. Hah. Guess I was too boring. At least I don't make up my stories.
It doesn't matter anymore, I don't care. I hate monsters. Well, no, it would be rude to judge them as a whole....let me put it this way. I don't like them, I don't love them. I especially don't like the one who replaced me. He's annoying.
I wish I could just disappear.... I sighed and rested my back against the tree. "(Y/N)!" My sister called out. "Dinner is almost ready. Your going to catch a cold staying out here, so don't be out here much longer!" She said. "I'm not hungry." I stated blandly and continued to gaze at the stars. "You can't starve yourself...c'mon. Just eat a little." She said and began to walk back inside.
My sister was the only nice person I knew. She was a nice older sister to me and understood my feelings. She had been there, done that, so I could talk to her when I was upset. Though, that didn't give me the right to always pester her. I give her some much needed space too.
My eyes looked down from the sky and across the landscape until I finally settled looking on familiar monster. It was the one who had replaced me. He seemed to walking next to some skeleton. "So I'm not able to avoid him even from up here, huh? Ugh..." I groaned and stood up from my seat, walking back inside angrily.
((TIME SKIP))
Ah, lunch. My least favorite place to be. Besides getting to eat, lunch time was a pain. You have all these people talking about you and laughing with their fake group of friends, and everyone is constantly judging you. It sucks. How do people do it? I walked into the lunch room to see the monster and their new group of friends. I gritted my teeth and looked away. That's it's. I'm sitting somewhere else.
So I sat alone. I grumbled to myself angrily...why couldn't that monster find its own group of friends? I poked at my food with a fork, and glanced up to see two monsters sit in front of me. They were in my class, so I knew their names. "Yo punk! What are you doing in the corner here by yourself?" It was Undyne. "Y-you got us worried, so we came over here..!" It was Alphys.
I faked a smile for them. "Oh, I'm just taking a break from my friends. They seem busy anyways. Don't worry, I'm fine." I said reassuringly. "No you ain't!" Undyne insisted and looked over at my group of friends. "They aren't busy..." She mumbled. "They replaced me with some creep, won't even spare me a glance." I explained and looked back down at my plate.
"I've been there before, trust me. B-but you can't give up on the whole world just because your friends didn't like you..!" Alphys stated. I looked away. "Whatever, it's not like it matters." I said and shrugged. "Who did they replace you with? I-if you don't mind me asking..." Alphys said nervously. She was always such a nervous wreck. "Oh, that monster over there. Know him?" I asked.
"Grillby? They replaced you with Grillby?" Undyne asked in surprise. "Oh, so that's his name? I didn't bother learning it."
