I'M A PERSON (Grian + SBI)

so, i always loved the idea of Grian being part of SBI (sleepy bois inc.). I loved the idea of him being the eldest of the siblings and Phil being their father. I have another idea planned for Grian being part of the SBI and i think it's really cool.

Also, sorry for not uploading a lot for this year, I've been really busy and was caught up with other things.

a/n this is a royalty au, so like yea, gonna be some angst.

They always say that the eldest of the siblings were the ones parents could rely on, the ones who got all the tasks put on their shoulders, and the ones that would always be blamed on if something went wrong. They were the ones who had to withstand the torture of their parents' yelling, sometimes even abuse. Their parents always had high standards for them and if disobeyed, that would result in yelling and arguing. They had always had to go through shit that their parents had installed for them; leaving the eldest distant from their family, forming hatred to the younger siblings, whom always had things going their way.

Even if the parents never showed or said that right in the eldest child's face, they knew that they were the least favourite child. The child that no one cared about. The child that was only made to be used, not be cared or loved.

You might've thought that Philza Minecraft was an exception, given to his kind nature, caring nature that was always around him, and the way he treated his three sons.

What if I told you, you were wrong.

Would you believe me?

You see, the legend of Philza Minecraft hides the fact the Technoblade isn't the oldest of the siblings, because underneath the surface, there was one son that is hidden from the audiences' view. The eldest son, the one everybody now knows as the most feared warrior of all time, only slightly challenged by his own brother, whom he's trained when he was younger. The name to the feared warrior was Xelqua. Now, don't get me wrong, Phil didn't call him that. In fact, his name is Grain spelt wrong, or, to be precise, Grian.

Grian had a very hard past, to say the least; yes, he was part of the original royal family, the only one in his family who's inherited his father's black wings, but that doesn't change the fact that his old mother would abuse him, sending his mental state out of the window and directly into a garbage can. Once Phil found out, he immediately banished her. Grian was thankful for that, but the damage was already done.

Then, he was sent to a Japanese school, which turned out to be a total hell-hole, and leaving the already unstable poor boy even more scarred. He learned how to fight and by the age of 12, fighting was something that would keep him calm and keep them silent and accomplished. He continued to develop his skills in the art of fight and, not to mention, he was a very talented builder with a lot of leadership skills too.

He taught his 8 year old  brother, Techno, the basics of fighting. To be honest with you, the only really happy memories he had from his childhood was when he spent time with his younger brothers. The memories of him teaching his brother, Wilbur, how to play the guitar and how to write songs. He loved playing games with Tommy and his best friend Tubbo while listening to some disks.

He tried to make everyone happy, he tried to stay happy. But it was hard with them being in his head.

One thing that he couldn't achieve though, was his father's acceptance. He always tried to make his father pleased, to make his father feel like he was worthy of the throne, only to be pushed back down to the bottom of the ocean by another "could've been better" or "should've tried harder". After a long day at work, Grian would finally come to the surface of the ocean he was trapped in only to be hit by another wave of doubt and hatred.

His relationship with his father wasn't the best, and by far. It was better than what he had, I mean, he was never hit or abused physically. Phil probably never realised he was picking favourites with the sons and that he was giving Grian too much work, leading into his eldest son having sleep deprivation and an urge that he always had to do something or he was being lazy. But as years went on, Grian realised that he didn't have to be the King, he could be whatever his heart desires, only if he just did the right steps.

Phil and Grian had a lot of arguments, and I mean a lot. So much in fact, that they had to make an isolated room just to not bother the kids with their endless bickering. The kids were oblivious to the situation, with an exception of Techno; he might've already guessed that something off was going on in between them.

As Grian grew, Phil set him even more work to do, raising up his standards getting higher and higher, jumping up every time Grian was almost reaching them. Phil was trying to raise the perfect king for his kingdom, The Artic Empire. He was trying so hard, that he forgot that Grian is also a person; with his own values and beliefs, with his own life and his own opinion. To top it all off, he also had to watch over his brothers; he had to train techno, teach Wilbur and basically teach them simple things before they went to school.

Another thing that Grian discovered over the course of his not-so-healthy life, is what an opinion is. When he had to teach his brothers or had to read him anything, he would pick out a story from Greek Mythology. Techno actually grew quite fond of it and now he had bookshelves dedicated to the topic. Grian wanted to go out and explore the world, to become his own sort of myth. But, his father was against it, trapping him inside the castle's walls. He wanted to leave, he wanted to leave so badly and start a new life, but he couldn't bare the thought of leaving his brothers behind with this tyrant of a father.

Those was the thoughts that kept him going, those were the thoughts that kept him in this hell-hole, those were the thoughts that kept him sane. He thought that his father would do the same to Techno, Wilbur or Tommy when they would grown up if he left, he thought that he was shielding them from this hell. He was giving them a chance to have a childhood, he was giving them an opportunity to live. But those beliefs we smashed away when  he overheard a conversation between his father and Techno.

"look, are you sure you want to do this. I don't want to force any of you into doing something." Phil spoke in a very gentle and caring voice, the voice that he never used to talk with Grian. The voice Grian thought was long gone. The voice that Grian wanted to hear in his direction.

"dad, i'm sure i want to leave this castle and go to a fighting academy" he could hear techno speak, "I want to explore the world dad, I want to see the world, i want to know more about it." Techno's voice was determine. Grian was on the verge of tears when he heard his father agree. 'why was he given a chance to leave?! why was he given a choice?! why was he the one to be the favourite?!' all these thoughts were throbbing in his head. That was, until they retuned.

The voices.

blood

kill

stab

The voices scare him, and the only way to make them quiet was to not show strong emotions, whether they were positive or negative.

From the day he overheard the conversation, he became a lot more distant from his brothers too. Don't get me wrong, he stilled cared for them, he would still spend time with them, but it just wasn't the same . It wasn't as passionate as before ones he realised that their father cared more about them than he would ever care for him.

Grian was starting loose hope that he'll ever make his father proud, that he'll ever be good enough, that he'll ever make it out of this castle.

That was, until one day:

Grian was in his room, doing work as usual, until he heard a knock on the door. "come in" his voice was quiet and raspy, he hadn't slept all night, finishing a project that his father assigned him to do.

"Lord Philza wants you in the Great Hall. Immediately." The guard spoke and left soon after. Grian sighed, "this isn't gonna go well" he mumbled to himself and started to walk to the Great Hall. His footsteps echoed in the empty halls, the touches were flickering as he went by. The grand doors of the hall creaked as you opened them, showing his appearance more loudly than Grian wanted it to be. "even doors are against my well being" he mumbled to himself as he approached the throne his father was sitting on. He noticed three beings standing in front of your father, speaking in a language Grian didn't recognise. As he stood by his father's left side. Like he always did.

The beings looked up at them, and soon began their speech with a bow, "Pilza Minecraft, current ruler of The Arctic Empire, your son was blessed with a gift. We, The Watchers, can help him with his journey of possessing this power, but we do need your agreement in his journey. We sense great power in his vanes, he will lead the world to greatness, and the only thing that is stopping him from doing so, is just your small signature." A sly smirk went across the speaker's face.

Grian's eyes practically lit up at the idea of leaving. He will finally leave this hell-hole he was stuck in for 16 years (a/n yes i forgot to say Grian is 16 at this point). He was going to be free! he was going to be finally free, after all this time, he'd be free. The 'Watchers' looked at Grian, even though they were wearing a mask, Grian could still feel their gaze on him, as if nudging him to speak.

But before he could even make a sound, his father raised his hand, indicating for him to stop. "i will have to refuse the offer. He will stay here in the castle until i say otherwise." his voice was cold, emotionless one might say, "you may leave now.." he told the Watchers.

"very well," they turned to Grian, "help will always be assisted for those who ask for it." they vanished, a smoking trail left behind.

Grian. was. furious. Even after his father dismissed him, he stayed on one spot, emotions overwhelming him. The voices were exploding his mind, roaring louder than ever. But he couldn't care less. He was practically shaking with anger.

"Grian, leave." Phil threatened, "i have more important matters to attend to than to argue with you." Grian rolled his eyes, not even caring what his father thought of that. "Watch your attitude!" phil slapped Grian across his face, leaving a red mark, "i'm sick and tired of the way you act to your own father." Phil was pissed, not even realising his mistake before he visibly saw Grian flinch and stiffen, his all emotion leaving his face. "Grian, I'm so-"

"MY ATTITUDE?! THE WAY TREAT YOU?! WELL, DAD" Grian spat out, turning to him, tears rolling down his face, "DID IT EVER COME ACROSS YOUR OR SO BRILLIANT MIND THAT I DON'T WANNA DO THIS ANYMORE?! HAVE YOU EVER EVEN THOUGHT OF ME AS YOUR SON?! OR AM I JUST A TOY FOR YOU TO USE?!" Grian roared in anger. He didn't even care if someone heard him, he wanted to spill all his hatred, and now was the perfect time. Phil just looked at him, "WHAT?! A CAT GOT ON YOUR TOUNG?! DID YOU EVER CARE ABOUT ME?! WAS I JUST A TOY FOR YOU TO USE FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE?!" he was sobbing at this point.

"well, maybe if you were actually good enou-" Phil started but was interrupted by Grian again, "I will never be enough for you, won't I. I will never be perfect enough for you. You'll never see me as your son, you'll only see me as a tool..." Grian's voice was pure coldness and hatred, "I did everything you asked me to do, and yet i'm just not good enough for you! I WILL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH! The only thing you care about is your kingdom! I bet that you don't even care about Techno or Wilbur or Tommy! I'M SICK AND TIRED OF YOU USING ME LIKE I WAS A PEICE OF DUST! TO YOU, I'M JUST A WORTHLESS PEICE OF SHIT!" Phil had shrunken back a little, "ALL I EVER WANTED WAS TO BE GOOD ENOUHG FOR YOU, BUT NOW I REALISE THAT MAYBE YOUR THE PROBLEM HERE?! WHEN WILL YOU REALISE THAT I'M A PERSON TOO?!" Tears were streaming down his face, "I'M YOUR FATHER! I GET TO DECIDE WHAT YOU DO!" Phil roared back at him, raising his hand to slap Grian on the face again. "WHEN WILL YOU REALISE THAT I'M A PERSON! I'M NOT JUST A STUPID MINDLESS MACHINE FOR YOU TO USE! I'M NOT A WEAPON, I'M NOT A ROBOT THAT CAN HANDLE EVERYTHING AND IT NEVER BREAKS. I AM A PERSON!" Grian stormed away, banning the doors shut after he excited the Great Hall.

That night, Grian left.

Forever.
