Empty cups, broken hearts and pretty faces, plopped on the couch in the big mansion. Cold wind blew through the broken glass, the music still played loud and hips were grinding against each other. A typical weekend night in the town of Greendale.
A familiar figure walks in staring at the drunk lot of people and rolls her eyes, she barges past people into the dancing crowd to find the person she was looking for.
"Ronnie I'm going home." she spits out of relief that she finally found her boyfriend.
"The party just started Tessa, quit being such a party pooper." A blonde haired man, who looked like he hadn't hit puberty retorted.
"It's been four hours, it'll be dawn anytime soon. Ronnie you can stay, but I'm going to pass." she shrugs as she walks out the mansion.
A warm and welcoming town, with its own set of dark secrets, known to none and felt by all. A town which from the outside looked like the perfect place to hike or camp, a perfect place to appreciate beauty of nature, a perfect place to spend time with your loved ones.
Mist fills the air as a lean brown haired girl in her teens, walks briskly. Let's state the undisguised truth, no one can walk briskly for too long. Tessa slows down for a few minutes as her eyes scan the place, Brooklyn Bridge.
"I'm almost home." she huffs and carelessly moves about.
The sound of a gun rings in her ears and she stops dead in her tracks. Her eyes widen, as any normal teen would do, Tessa tries to run away, but she wasn't a normal teen now was she? Escaping into parties without her parents knowing, trouble was her second name.
Tessa decides to investigate where ever the gun shot came from. She could probably help the person that was shot.
She slowly tiptoes into the green bushes where she hears murmurs and carefully peeps in. The space between leaves gives her a perfect view of the scene. A man in his early thirties slept there peacefully, except blood was oozing out of his body. Five men around Tessa's age stood there contemplating their next move.
"I guess we should burn him, wait for the ashes or left overs and drown it in the river?", one of them suggested. He looked well built and had a tattoo on his forearm, he gave off the sense that he wasn't a person to be messed with.
A small tingling sensation is felt up Tessa's leg and much to her dismay it was a cockroach. She tried her best to keep quiet and remove the filth off her leg, just as anyone would have done. She looks for a stick around to push it off her leg. Snap! A twig snaps and the five men look at Tessa, giving her deadly looks.
"I'm so dead!" She tells herself as she runs from there as fast as she could.
"Find her!" a husky voice orders as Tessa runs for her life, she was just trying to see the faces, she was innocent!
Out of breath, Tessa stops and looks back to see no men in sight. She breathes a breath of relief and turns back onto running.
"Looking for us?" One of the men smirk as he stands in front of her and the next thing she knew was she was in a room, which had a strong essence of cheap cigarettes and old rum.
"Well well, what do we do with her?" Someone asks as a black bag which was earlier used to kidnap her was removed for her to come in contact with the most handsome, yet devilish looking set of men.
Wait she knew him, that face the black haired chiseled face and the furrowed eyebrows, eyes where you could melt in, she recognised him. Much to her dismay he recognised her too.
"Tessa?" He asks as he chuckles.
"Mendes." she raises her eyebrows at the good-looking man, when their stare concert was interrupted.
"I'm done Shawn..." another voice pops in and stops when he looks at Tessa "The girl next door." he giggles.
"Neil!" she fakes a smile like she was pleased to see him.
"I know her." both Shawn and Neil exclaim in unison.
"We can let her go, she won't tell a soul." he chuckles at the visible terror in Tessa's face.
"What makes you so sure?" Tessa asks, regretting it instantly.
"You are Tessa Gray and I'm Shawn Mendes, we don't work together and people like you are afraid of people like me." he smirks.
"Whatever, good luck on disposing the poor man's body." Tessa says rubbing her wrists which were previously tied by harsh ropes.
"I can drop you at home." Neil offers.
"Thanks, boy next door." Tessa says mimicking Neil.
