Izzie Stevens- Rainbow (c)
Izzie stopped walking.
The two of you had been heading off to work, deciding the walk would be worthwhile seen as it was a pleasant day. Her just randomly stopping in the middle of the street seemed to be a concerning move. She took in a large intake of air making her gasp audibly, loud enough for you to hear it even at a few steps ahead of her. You turned back at her to see her beautiful smile as she looked up at the sky.
"What's wrong?" You asked. "Have you changed your name to chicken little?"
Her eyes trailed down to yours, shooting you an unpleasant look out of annoyance due to your comment. She quickly went back to looking up at the sky, a pleasant smile upon her face, clearly enjoying whatever she could see. Her finger jutted out to somewhere above you and behind you forcing you to rotate on your heel so that you could see whatever it was that was capturing your girlfriend's attention.
Across the sky was an arch of colour beautifully framed in the blue sky making it the last remnants of the early morning rain.
"Don't you think rainbows are beautiful?" She grinned, catching up with you so that she could wrap her arm around your shoulders as she was a few inches taller than you.
"Not as beautiful as you," you said, knowing how cheesy of a comment it was but it didn't make it any less true.
Rainbows were beautiful and you couldn't help but stop and look at them, but Izzie was far better. She was a stunning woman and how intelligent she was never failed to astonish you, there wasn't anything about her that didn't make you stop and stare at her. Frankly, you were just shocked that someone as perfect as her had agreed to be your girlfriend as she was far more than anything you could have ever wanted.
"Don't be an idiot," she laughed. "They are something so beautiful, no matter whom you are you have to stop and look at a rainbow when there is one. It's just such a lovely sign of hope in something so marvellous appearing after a patch of rain."
You couldn't help but smile at her, ignoring the rainbow, your attention completely encapsulated by her.
"It's a nice way to think Iz," you chuckled. "Maybe we should get moving though as if we're late again Bailey will have our heads."
She nodded, knowing your resident wouldn't be impressed if the two of you were running late for another shift, so the two of you headed off to get to the hospital on time to start your twelve hour shift.
