When I finish the story my parents are on the edge of their seats with their hands to their mouths. They didn't interrupt me at all. My mother is the first to speak. She says that we had to find her. But my dad just looks at her likes she's crazy and tries to argue but Lizzie and I agree with Mom on this one.

We all head down to the laundry room with one stop at Mrs. Cormaci's to tell her where we are going and why. When we reach the laundry room we stand around the open vent trying to figure who should go first. I move towards the vent and remove the grate. I go down it before anyone can argue.

When I reach the end I look down to find hard ground. Though out of nowhere comes a group of cockroaches to cushion my fall. When I landed I immediately wished Boots was here but that thought flew out of my head when I heard my mother's scream. I hear a thump as she hits the back of the cockroaches. Close after her com Lizzie and Dad.
