Chapter 7

He will stop the war
Or the Underland is no more
By finding a truce
To end the abuse
But he won't be able to save his Queen
she shall die unseen
These words ran through Gregor's head as he sat in Ares's old hideout. The thought of Luxa dying was the worst thing he could think of, almost as worse as Ares's death. He wondered why the breakdown had come to him. Why was Luxa dying so depressing? Sure, he had kissed her once, but they had been 12 and in the middle of a war. He didn't even know what she thought of him. Friend? Enemy? Guy who saved her butt tons of times, but she didn't care about? So why did one prophecy change everything? He hadn't even done this when the prophecy of time had predicted that he himself would die? At that moment he decided that all he could do was protect Luxa from the harm, and the only way to make sure she doesn't escape is to keep her by his side at all times. Every single moment of every single day.

"Well," he thought, "Let's start deciphering that prophecy! So how do I get out of here?"

That's when the answer landed in the cave. He saw a flash of gold and silver when he opened his eyes. Gregor had been sitting in darkness the whole time. It took a second for him to adjust to the torch. There stood a worried Luxa.

"Gregor are you okay? Are you hurt? How did you get here?", she started bombarding him with questions.
"Luxa! Luxa! Luxa! He yelled finally loud enough for her to hear. I'm fine! What are you doing here?
"I started looking for you!"she said. "There is an emergency meeting in the council room. We need to start our journey before we are under attack.
"Let's go then", Gregor said. Gregor and Luxa hopped on to Aurora's back and they left for the palace.

As they were going, Gregor was looking at the new underland. It had changed drastically! The fields were now full of farmers and there was no sign of wreckage like there was when he had left. Luxa had definitely took some long measures fixing this place up.

"Gregor there are some other things I need to tell you. As in the prophecy, there is called to be another new creature. A creature that we might not know of. No Underlander or Underland creature knows of this creature. Whoever they are, they have kept themselves awfully silent and non-responsive."

Gregor had always thought that everybody knew about this new creature.

"Then I guess we will have to be prepared for anything and everything. Maybe the Underland creatures against us have kept this creature a secret. Perhaps this creature is their most dangerous weapon." Gregor thoughtfully said.
"Yes I guess you are right. We will just have to be prepared." Luxa responded.

When they reached the council room, everybody was already there and speaking amongst themselves. Everybody fell silent as if a new species had suddenly emerged. Gregor and Luxa took their seats as the council meeting began. Gregor's seat was in the middle of the room.

"Of course the council members were going to question me. Don't they have another way to figure stuff out? Why does it always have to be me that they talk too? I am seriously not all knowing!" Gregor thought in frustration.

The room had a high ceiling and it was decorated just like all other places in the Underland. It was a replica of all of the other rooms in the area. One of the council members pounded against the table and everybody stopped talking at once.

"Overlander, we will ask you a few questions and you will answer them for us."
"Uhh sure?" Gregor said questioning his answer.
"Let us start simple. First, what is your name?"
"Uh Gregor" Gregor replied again.
"Good" the man said, bored.
"Wait aren't these supposed to be important? You already know my name."
"Next time, Overlander, do not interrupt, and yes we are asking important questions. Is your name not important Overlander?" The council member snarled.
The council member seemed almost mad at Gregor, but then again, he could've just been irritated.
"Sorry" Gregor quietly whispered.
"Ok lets begin again. What's your name Overlander?"
"Gregor"
"Full name, however we shall not start again so we will go on." The council member said bored again.
"What is your favorite color?" The man asked.
"Blue." Gregor replied with no interest.
The questions went on about his life in the Overland and other average things about him for about 5 minutes. Finally, the council members started talking amongst themselves and Gregor was free to go. Gregor saw no point in this because this was supposed to be an emergency council meeting and decisions about the trip should have been made.

"They're probably making all of the decisions without me." He guessed. Gregor decided to just go back down to the prophecy room and try to make sense of it. Without any delay, Gregor's started walking down to the room filled with prophecies.
