Saikou

My eyes opened as I heard a voice of a woman, calling a familiar name. It echoed throughout the room making me spiral into a nauseating state. My head wobbled as the corridors stretched into nothingness while being engulfed by darkness.

Saikou

The voice was sweet and airy, making me approach the sound slowly. I followed the rose painted wall, darkness peaking out of it's cracks. My steps are getting louder as I walked, the voice then slowly turned into cries of a kid. As I approached the sound I saw red paint smeared against the wall. I kept waking as the crying became louder. My ears pinched as the pitch became higher, I- I can't stop moving my legs. My ears are hurt but, I can't stop walking. The darkness then withered away as I walked into it.

Cries

The cries then became louder, as I came close to the end of the corridor. The pitch kept going up until, I can't hear it anymore. I still hear my footsteps, but the cries are gone. I then saw a dark curtain coated in an ominous black shade. My body then felt cold as the walls disappear into the darkness, making me focus only unto the curtain.

My eyes then went wide as a pool of red liquid sipped underneath the cloth, staining it with what appears to be blood.

I quickly opened the curtain, curious on what I'd see behind it. When I opened it my body trembled, as my teeth fell down one by one. It was.. a boy with red hair kneeling down holding a body. I couldn't recognize it but, it looked familiar.

Everything around me then disappeared, leaving my trembling self and the boy alone. The boy then turned to me staring right directly in my pupils, with a shocked hollow face, and big bloodshot eyes. The boy mumbled

"Mom"

I then woke up in a room gasping for air, and the sun shining directly at my face, making me squint.

"My- my dream" I mumbled to myself. But before I was able to recollect what I've seen in my dream, it slowly faded away from my memory.

"I-I can't remember it" I thought to myself while holding my head. My eyes then adjusted itself with the light, making me see better. When I stopped squinting though, a face of a woman with blonde hair appeared in my field of vision.

"Hey there little fella?" She said while smiling. She then sat down at the chair right beside where I was. She then removed a cloth that was placed on my forehead.

She chuckled "You're finally awake huh?"

"Well you did have fever for 2 days, so I'm quite glad you've finally came to your senses"

She said while, soaking the cloth in water. Then putting it again on my forehead. The warm feeling of the cloth against my head relaxed my confused mind.

Her- her voice is so relaxing.

My pupils then dilated as I looked at her again. Her blonde hair glittered as she moved, her blue eyes shone as if it's massaging my mind and her red lips shimmered whenever she talked.

I-Is that color? I thought to myself

Before, all I could see is black and white, but when I looked at her everything turned colorful. For the first time my mouth widened like I was smiling. Everything around her is colorful making me stare at her longingly.

"Who- wha areee youu" I tried asking her, as I struggled to speak properly. She then smirked innocently as she said

"My name's Jeff"

"J-Je-"

She then laughed while covering her mouth

"Just messing with you, silly

She then held my hands and shook it lightly "Faizaliah Rose". I then felt a sudden urge to laugh.

"Ro-se?" I asked her as I was laughing.

"No, actually when you were sick, you kept having nightmares. So did you know what I did?" She asked me as she chuckled.

"I hugged you! And while I was hugging you. You kept calling me Mom"....

"So from now on Saikou, call me Mom" She laughed sweetly as she stood up

"Did you like the nickname I gave you? It means you're fantastic!" She then turned her back slowly, and walked diligently to the door. As she was heading out, she then turned her head on me

"I'll be cooking lunch for you, so don't move yet okay? Mama loves you" she then smiled and closed the door gently.

As her presence faded away from the room, the colors also faded with her. The room's black and white again, but the smile on my face never faded away. Tears then fell out of my eyes as my heart's jumping with joy.

I've never felt such a warm feeling before. I've been stuck in such a cold place my whole life, that her actions towards me made me have a glimpes of what I have been wanting to see.

True colors.

I can smell what she was cooking. I don't know what it is for I've never eaten before, but the smell made my stomach grumble. I waited patiently for her while my saliva's dripping down my mouth.

A couple of minutes later she knocked on the door, opening it afterwards. She's holding somekind of metal with plates and water sitting on top of it. As she was placing what she carried on a table beside my bed. She noticed my saliva still dripping on the sheets she ran towards me grabbing a handkerchief, and wiping my saliva with it.

"Oops" she laughed "I guess we'll need to wash you after eating" she then put the handkerchief on my shirt as she was getting the food.

The sun then pierced the window as the colors came flying again red, blue, yellow, green and alot more came bursting in, making the room full of life. She then turned towards me with the plate on her hands.

"Before I give this to you Saikou, what's my name?" She asked me while teasing me with the plate.

The smell made my stomach react again making me look intently at the food.

"Ro-se" I quickly answered while staring at the food.

"Nope. I told you Saikou, call me Mom."

She said while pouting.

"say it Saikou, M-o-m."

"Mo-m" I said, while following her lead in pronouncing.

"Good boy Saikou." She said while smiling

"Now... Who's ready for the airplane?" she then moved the spoon in some weird directions making me anticipate when it will land on my mouth.

I opened my mouth in anticipation, making me follow the spoon plane with my eyes and head. I stared at it intently, as I readied myself on engulfing it. As it was twirling around, I finally noticed that it's nearing my vicinity of reach. So without hesitation I transformed my neck, making it elongate and moved my head, putting the spoon in my mouth, and chewing.

"Someone's a bit hungry" she exclaimed.

As I was chewing, my taste buds bursted with flavor making me chew even faster. My eyes watered as I kept chewing the food and swallowing it afterwards.

"You like my chicken fillet? It's my specialty" She asked me while holding another spoon full of the chicken fillet and fried rice.

I nodded at her as she was putting the spoon near my mouth. But before I was able to eat it, she then took it back saying.

"First, never let anyone see you transform okay? Promise me".

I then nodded as she puts the food in my mouth.

After eating she proceeded to bring down the plates. As she was coming back, I heard running water from near my room. She then entered my room carrying a towel while wearing a white robe.

"Time to wash up Saikou" she exclaimed at me while removing my clothes.

Hearing the water running I attempted to resist her while she was carrying me to the bathroom, but with her firm and careful grasp she succeeded. She locked the door as I was standing in there looking at the filled up tub.

"Ro-se..." I tried calling to her, to hopefully make her stop, But she still carried me to the tub.

I screamed and screamed as she was putting my tiny body inside the cold water. I screamed for I don't want to feel the cold anymore. But as I was screaming, she hushed me with her gentle words.

"Shhh. Don't cry Saikou, I and our little yellow friend will join the tub with you".

She then opened her soft palms, revealing a yellow tiny rubber ducky in it. She then placed it on the water making it float and move gracefully with the clear yet colorful waves. She then removed her robe and entered the tub, splashing my face while doing so. I splashed back at her, making the rubber ducky moved within our splashes.

I cannot help but to smile and laugh while she was fighting me with the water. Seeing the yellow ducky float with our splashes make my heart flutter in excitement.

While in that bathroom with Rose playing with the water and being a normal kid, I thought to myself

"I hope these colors will last forever"
