thirty six
The day wore on painfully, each tick of the clock seeming like a personal insult. A part of him considered just walking out of the class. Still he kept his calm through P.E, and through Mathematics, and art history, and what seemed like a thousand other classes.
Eventually, finally, mercifully. The bell rang, and he was allowed to sprint out the door. Ignoring his class mates as they called out to him Izuku didn't even both to put his back pack on his back as he ran from the school.
He barreled down the streets, nearly knocking people on their asses multiple times. Izuku reached the hospital sooner then expected, almost too soon. He just stood there for a moment looking at the glass doors.
What would he say to him. Hi hows it going, sorry you went into a comma, or should he apologize for not being there to help. What would Kacchan think of him going to U.A. What would Kacchan do when he realized how far behind he'd fallen, would he be angry, happy, sad. What if he hadn't woken, and all of this was just a fantasy he'd cooked up for himself. What on earth would Izuku do then.
He shook off the fear and anxiety soon enough. Entering the building at a slow relaxed pace, his breathing having evened up from the sprint over here. He walked through the disturbingly quiet halls, fear quelled mostly, apart from a small ball of worry in his chest.
He walked up the stairway, arms straight by his sides, breath completely even. Turning the corner Izuku headed to Kacchans rooms. His hand was on the door handle now, he grit his teeth and twisted.
The door swung open soundlessly and inside lied Katsuki Bakugo, just as he left him. Far to much so, still hooked up to machines, his chest slowly rising and falling, sleeping in an uncomfortable hospital bed, in an ugly hospital gown, under a scratchy blanket, his hair grown out and pulled back into a spiky ponytail, a slight scowl curling his lips.
All of it was exactly as he remembered, no change that the nurses and orderlies wouldn't have done. Izuku almost broke down then and there, tears ready to burst from his eyes like fire hydrants. "He was awake, earlier". Izukus heart nearly tore itself from his chest as he heard the voice of Mistski Bakugo from behind him.
Joy spread across his face, tears continuing to well, but tears of joy rather then sorrow. "H-he was-"."Chirp chirp....chirp chirp". The fancy watch he'd borrowed from Iidas alarm went off telling to go back to campus. "MOTHER FUCKIN GRR". He sprinted from the building, his face a strange mix between a grin and a snarl.
There take it, appreciate, and wait ten more chapters for anything to do with Bakugo
