"Lisaaaaaaaa!!!!!!! "The loud voice of an old woman echoed in the field and Lisa was forced to come back from her motherland thought.
Taking a turn to look at the direction of the voice, a small smile played across her lips. Meet Granny Bailey, her sweet grandmother who knows only how to scream her name. LISA.
"What are you still doing in that field. Are you not through?? You've been there for more than twenty six hours!!!!!!!! "The old woman, with gray curly hair shouted as she held her hand akimbo by the doorpost.
And again, meet Granny Bailey who is also an additional woman who knows how to add extra numbers to the hours you have spent not working.
"Holy sweet! "Lisa exclaimed as she bent down to pick the basket of potatoes she had picked up in the wood between her legs. She had almost forgotten they would be going to the market for their daily business. Selling fishes by the Riverside.
"If the ship leaves without me, be prepared to go in my stead for the rest of your life" And with that her stubborn grandmother went back inside.
Lisa smile only widened as she started walking toward the only hut in the place carrying the basket on her head.
As she walked, she hummed a tune and dance happily alongside it. It's better to forget about everything and just live a free life on the isolated island. She thought as she tried to wave back whatever it is that was coming to her mind. She got to stay healthy and forget anything ever happened.
After walking for some few minutes barefooted, she got to the two rooms old hut and entered the living room that just had a small local television beside an old shelf of old books. Two caned chairs stood beside the wooden window few inches away from the door and one of them was granny's favorite. She always says it was a gift from her late mother and never allow anyone to sit on it.not even Lisa. Lisa smile as she remembered a time when Granny had chased her with a wood all be LPcause she had climb it to hung granny's younger picture. That was when she knew, Granny must have been a good runner in her days back. Ever since then, Lisa dare not joke with that chair let alone touch it. Granny had rather say, she fall on the wooden floor than hold that chair for balance.
"The market will be filled up early today. It's better we hurry up to catch the early birds. "Granny said coming out from her room in a faded brown pleating gown that reaches to her knee. Granny was a plump woman in her late sixties but she look younger than her age.
Lisa smiled as she dropped the basket on the small table in the centre of the living room.
"Do you need to wash the bedsheets and duvets.?"She asked rubbing her tickle right palm and not failing to give Granny one of her sweet smile.
Granny looked up at her,Her eyebrows comming together. Lisa is at it again.
"Theres no way am giving you my bicycle. Just got get the tray and let's go! "As she said that, she sneered at Lisa before walking towards the door. Whenever Lisa need something from her,She always ask to do what she has never done before.
Lisa turned to look at her at the door.
"Granny, please can you lend me just this once and I promise I won't ask again. Please....uhn... " she pleaded even though she knew Granny wouldn't agree.
Granny ignored her as she knew Lisa never kept her promise.
Lisa sighs as she rolled her eyebrows. "She never gives Gosh!!! "And grunting, she held the hem of her gown and went to the door to put on her pink feather slippers before following the strong headed Granny.

Lisa helped the women at the market with their basket of fishes to their various stores. And the Market just as Granny had said, were filled up with people than usual. It was a small open market by the river side and it was known to be a place where the biggest fresh fish are sold. People tends to be crowdy mostly on Fridays as it was the day the fishermen go into the river.
"Thank you." A fine woman in her early forties said smiling at the beautiful girl in front of her after Lisa had dropped her basket of fish on her counter.
"It's my pleasure. " Lisa smiled showing off her deep dimple.
" Shouldn't Bailey be grateful for the kind of grand daughter she has?"The woman asked no one in particular as she adjust the buckets on her counter beside Granny's.
"Unfortunately and sadly, she never appreciate me. "Lisa said in a low tone as she shrugged .
The woman turned to give granny a glance before turning to look at Lisa.
"Be my Grand daughter instead and I will appreciate all of you." The woman said grinning at Lisa who laughed in return.
"I will be ever glad but you're too young to have a grand daughter as old as I am." Lisa teased and both women laughed ignoring Granny who was mumbling something.
"But I can consider being your daughter but on one condition." Lisa began and Granny cleared her throat. Both women turned to look at her as she adjusted in her seat pretending to be looking at the passerby.
"She's at it again." Granny mumbled.
Lisa pouted her lips before turning to look at the woman who in turns, turn to look back at her.
"I will just go straight to the point." Lisa said in a loud and Clear voice. "May I have your Bicycle please?"
There was a pause from the other woman before she finally laughed.
"Sky's bicycle is always at your service. Mine is broken so he has gone to repair it."
Lisa gave a proud grin as she held out her tongue to Granny.
"Thank you Mom." She said before turning to go into the storage room behind the market women jubilating.
Granny sneered at her retreating back.
"I wonder where she always go with that." The woman said now sitting down on the stool behind her.
"Probably a lover and you should be hold responsible if she comes home pregnant one day, Nicole." Granny said sternly and Nicole was used to Granny harsh words. Those who don't know her are likely to get angered by her words.
Nicole only smiled. "She's such a lovely girl. Be nice to her even for half a day."
And she knew Granny would never hear of that.
Though,Granny was a lively woman then and she may not judge her for that.
