Chapter 1

"Quinn, please I'm sorry. I should of been there please Quinn just come back," cried a helpless looking girl kneeling besides a hospital bed.
She knew her friend couldn't hear her, yet still she apologized. She felt small and responsible for her friends outcome. "Please I need you," she whispered.
Slowly she stood up as a nurse came to check on up her. She looked up at the nurse and back at Quinn. The nurse had a worn out look on her face as she gave a sympathetic smile.
"Please," she said one final time before leaving.
Walking out of the building felt like torture but it was ten times worse inside. Her only true friend lying on a hospital bed in desperate need for help and all she can do is feel guilty. She closed her eyes hoping for something to happen to wake her up from her nightmare.
She started the car and looked around. Everywhere she looked she saw evidence of her friend. She saw the books she had lent her just a week before sitting in the backseat, the radio they often battled over, even a bent up paper clip brought her memories.
As she drove the car she was reminded of her everywhere she looked. She looked down at her jacket as she parked her car. She played with the straps of her jacket that often brought her weird looks when she would wear it without stop.
She was alone know. Everything she shared with her was now solely hers. The apartment, bills, books all of it. Walking to the door nearly brought her to her knees.
She felt a vibrate in her pocket and looked down at her phone. She knew she should answer it. She knew she should talk to him, but he just brought reminders of her conversation about him. She knew he had made her happy. She knew he cared. Still she pressed end.
If she thought walking to the door was bad she was wrong. Nothing matched the wave of pain she received when she stepped through the door.
She took her shoes off and kept her jacket on. Quinn had been the only person that knew why she had worn her jacket since she was 12. It was now worn out and discolored. She knew that but she didn't care. Quinn couldn't be gone, who would know my reasons she told herself. She looked down at the jacket wondering when the whole world began circling around it..
She felt selfish. She should have been where Quinn was then. Then she just didn't know how bad things had gotten.
