GREEK TRAGEDY
:: xiv. | double dog dare ya, part 2

Everyone dispersed into groups, boys on one side and girls on the other. The boys consisted of Nathan & Chad, Lucas & Jay, skills & fergie, Felix & Tim. The girls, it was Alexa & Haley, Ashely & Peyton, Ryland & Brooke. Though the teams were separated by boys and girls, the point was to finish as many dares as possible, so the best way was to separate into teams within teams.

Soon enough, each were given a location and clues. Just like that, everyone was off to follow clues after Felix lastly mentioned that they all meet back up at Karen's Cafe around midnight.

Brooke and Ryland took their first clue and followed it to a restaurant somewhere in Tree Hill. The card said to enjoy an evening dinner. It was questionable at first but nonetheless, did what the card said.

The blonde and burnette both were seated a table, given two menus.

Brooke picked her's up and began scanning her eyes over the suggestions. After a minute or so, she slightly lowered the menu down and peeked at Ryland, whose eyes were glued to the menu.

"Did you ask for me?"

Ryland lowered the menu from in front of her face, "Just because you gave me some motivational speech earlier, doesn't mean I wanted to be partnered with you."

Brooke kind of felt a slight sting to the chest. It's not that she wanted Ryland to say that she wanted to be partnered with her but along those lines, she did maybe want to be friends with her.

Maybe.

All of that hatred and going back and forth, only made Brooke eventually realize how stupid it was and that Ryland is actually a genuine person. Therefore, what happened between them back then didn't matter. It was a long time ago and they were just children.

After a couple more minutes looking through the menu, the waiter finally came and the two girls ordered their drinks as well as their dinners.

As the girls were working on their dare, Lucas and Jay were in the locker room of some building trying to find the right locker because that locker held their next instructions. Eventually, the two stumbled upon said locker and soon opened it after Lucas read the combination to Jay.

Jay reached his hand in and pulled out a pink laced bra with a note attached to it.

"What the fuck is this?"

Jay passed the bra to Lucas, who just dangled it from the strap between his index finger and thumb.

"It's a bra, a very pretty one." Lucas saw the note in jay's hand, "What does it say?"

Jay read aloud, "Return the bra to Victoria's Secret but one of us has to be wearing it."

"Not me." Lucas tossed the bra back to Jay and he tossed it back to Lucas.

The two continued this little back and forth for a good minute or two before one of them caved, which was Lucas. He took the plunge and took off his shirt before tossing it to Jay. He then with the help of Jay, strapped the pink, laced bra on from the back.

Jay would have to admit, Lucas looked pretty damn good in a pink bra. In conclusion, Jay eventually pulled out his phone and snapped a few pictures as a light chuckle left his lips.

Lucas reached for the phone, lowering it out of his view, "Let's just get this over with."

The two teens began to make their way to the store. As they did, all eyes were on them, mainly Lucas because he was wearing the bra.

As soon as they approached the store, the two walked in and headed to the cashier. Immediately the cashier and others who are walking by began snickering about.

Jay had Lucas' shirt over his shoulder as his arm was over Lucas' shoulders, "My friend here would like to return this bra."

The cashier tried to refrain from smiling, "Was there anything wrong with it?"

"Not really." Lucas chimes in, "Just really isn't my style."

The cashier nodded, "Hm."

The two boys shared a look, waiting for the cashier to continue.

So far the night was going as planned and surprisingly, some of them were quite enjoying this little game that was cooked up by Felix.

Back at the restaurant with Brooke and Ryland, Felix had stopped by briefly to drop the other half of their restaurant dare. He only rested it on the table before quickly exiting.

After Ryland wiped her hands with a few napkins, she picked the envelope up and opened it by tearing the top of it. She pulled out an index card and flipped it to the side that had no lines.

It read, leave.

Ryland looked up at Brooke, "Hey, you got the check?"

Brooke waved down the waiter and soon enough the check landed on their table.

Brooke immediately picked it up and as soon as she saw the price, her eyes grew wide, "I can't cover that." She whispered across the table.

"I thought you had money?"

Brooke lightly shrugged, "I'm kind of broke at the moment."

Ryland immediately went into panic mode, "Ok, so what do we do?"

Brooke pulled out her phone, "Calling Felix right now."

After a ring or two, he answered and Brooke scolded which earned a chuckle from him. He then told her that they can do it and since he's seen Brooke steal before, it should be no problem.

Eventually the call ended and Ryland just sat there waiting for news.

"So?"

Brooke shoved her phone in her pocket, "I'm going to the bathroom then leaving, you are going to just walk out five minutes after me."

Ryland whispered, "You can't be serious."

"Don't get caught."

Brooke got up and like she said, she headed to the bathroom with Ryland's eyes following her all the way there.

Ryland couldn't believe she was about to commit a crime and who with. She honestly thought if she were to ever do something like this, it would be with Ashely but as they say, life's full of surprises.

As the girls were finishing up their dare, Chad and Nathan were running through the mall with police chasing not too far behind. Their dare was to spray paint inside a dressing room and the manager there had his suspicions, so they decided to make a run for it.

Eventually the two gave a quick nod to each other, signaling it was time to split up.

Just as Chad was about to head in a certain direction, his arm his pulled in the opposite.

"Don't go that way. Follow me."

He didn't even hesitate. He just went with the flow and followed this stranger. Chad followed her to a car and even though he hesitated, he still got in on the passenger's side.

He glanced towards her, "You're not going to kill me, are you?"

She lightly chuckled, "No. Just waiting it out for a couple minutes till the close is clear." She finished, "Why were they chasing you anyway?"

"Some stupid dare night." He shrugged, "Why'd you help? You don't know me."

"You're cute."

He smiled, "I'll take it."

"So —- " She leaned back in the seat, "What's the next dare?"

Chad reached in his back pocket and pulled out a card. He soon read, "Take a photo booth strip with a stranger." He looked to the curious girl, "What a coincidence."

She began to open the driver's door, "Let's go."

The two went back into the mall and eventually after walking around for a bit, they found a photo booth. The two sat in there, the camera snapping as they took pictures. One was of them sharing a kiss and the other . . . she kept that one a surprise for him.

The night only seemed to get better and more dangerous.

As midnight rolled around, everyone found their way back to Karen's Cafe surround by a table, girls on one side and boys on the other.

"Alright." Felix picked another card, "Kiss someone on your team."

Nathan immediately protested, "No way."

Jay glanced at Nathan, his hand meeting his chest, "I'm hurt."

A couple of them snickered as Nathan rolled his eyes in response.

"So, no one?" Felix looked around at everyone.

With quick thinking and a bit of a surprise to everyone, Ashely grabbed ryland's arm and pulled her close. Their lips crashed together for only a couple seconds before pulling away.

Ashely smiled proudly as Ryland was trying to comprehend what just happened as did everyone else.

Brooke who stood in between Ryland and Ashely put her arms around their shoulders, "So, do we win?"

"I-I mean, unless the boys got a photo strip with a stranger." Felix looked at them.

Chad thought for a moment and he decided he just wanted to keep that to himself. Therefore, the girls won the game.

As dawn continued, everyone was finding their way back home. Ryland and Brooke however, they weren't in a rush to get in their beds and sleep. The two were just walking and talking a bit.

They talked about Jake and the night. It was clear that dare night brought them kind of closer in a way. They weren't sure if they would call each other friends yet, but they weren't sure if they still remained as frenemies either.

Soon the two parted and went on their way to their home. As Ryland headed in the direction of her house, she saw Jay in the distance talking to some random guy. She didn't recognize him around town or school, so curiosity definitely piqued her interest.

Her eyes never left Jay either. The closer she got, she eventually saw the guy hand something over to Jay. She couldn't tell what it was but she saw it was small. Even though she couldn't tell, she had an idea.

She just really hoped it wasn't what she thought it was.
