v. nightingale

GREEK TRAGEDY
::  v. | nightingale

After another big win of a raven's game, Dan Scott decided he would throw a party in honor of it. Though it wasn't till the weekend, Ryland already knew she was going to be dragged to it by Ashely. She hates anything related to the Scotts, other than Lucas and Keith. She didn't even understand why people were going to this thing in the first place, other than the reason that it's about the game but it's obviously the more obvious.

More on the nose though, just like Lucas, she wasn't that happy that Haley started hanging out with Nathan. Ever since everyone finding out about Peyton and Nathan breaking up again, he's had the need to tether to someone. Ryland thought that he had ulterior motive because Haley is best friends with Lucas. Just going to the core of the drama was just going to fuel what's already there.

"You are so not wearing this on Saturday." Ashely came up from behind, approaching Ryland who was on her way to lunch.

She was fairly amused, "Guess that means I'm going."

"You have no excuses." Ashely's hair flipped over her shoulder as she and Ryland walked out the double doors to the outside lunch court.

The two teens sat with Haley, Lucas, Chad, Alexa, and Jay. It was their fun group of a crazy bunch. They all began talking about dan's party and who were going, along with who weren't. Jay, Alexa, and Haley were three who weren't going. One, they didn't care for Dan Scott and two, what was the point? Ryland didn't understand it either and she wasn't shy to sharing her thoughts either.

"Yeah. I don't know if I want to go ash. . " Ryland trailed off, not wanting to sound a little bit rude.

"Ok, Dan isn't the best but all our friends are going to be there." Ashely tried to persuade Ryland.

"You mean all your friends." Ryland gestured towards everyone at the table, "All my friends are here."

"Please don't fight me on this." Ashely sighed.

Chad lightly chuckled, "Are y'all really fighting over Dan Scott?"

Ashely passed her brother a disgusting look, "Ew." The blonde stood up from the table, "Got to go meet Brooke and Peyton. Just please think about it, Ryland." She lastly mentioned before heading off back into the building.

Ryland wasn't sure of why it was so important that she came with Ashely. She couldn't figure it out. As far as she knew, Chad was going and Lucas. Unless there was this huge thing going down, there wasn't an exact reason why she should go if she didn't want to. But since Ashly was giving her no other choice, she might as well do something with her Saturday night.

Finally Saturday rolled around and the whole town was practically going to the Scott household. It was classy evening attire, so everyone had to dress up. Lucas rolled in with his mom and Keith. Chad, Ashely, and Ryland all came together while others found their way. The whole basketball team was there and cheerleading. Now it began to seem like more of an obligation to Ryland.

Once the adults went their own way, leaving the teens, that's when the real party began.

Ashely's arm was linked with Ryland's when she saw Brooke chatting it up with two of Tree Hill's finest — Lucas and Jake. The two boys noticed the girls who seemed a bit lost but only one managed to get away. Jake walked on over with a smile and hands in his pockets.

"What's going on over there?" Ashely gestured towards Lucas and Brooke.

"Oh you know, Brooke has him hostage now." He slightly joked which earned a light chuckle from Ryland.

Ashely noticed Lucas looking across the room, so she followed his eyesight and saw Nathan and Peyton talking which was weird because as far as she knew, Peyton had no intentions of getting back together with him.

In the midst of her being in her head, Jake and Ryland were chatting up a bit. However the chat was cut short because of his sudden departure. He passed the two a quick smile before heading out and leaving them alone once again. But they weren't alone for long, Dan soon made an announcement to everyone to follow him to the backyard.

He shared how thankful him and deb were that everyone came and that this was for the Ravens. He shared his gratitude and future, then finished off with enjoying the party. Everyone soon disbursed into their little groups again, doing their own thing.

After about two hours, the party was still going hard, especially at night. Brooke was as drunk as ever but that wasn't going to stop her. All day she had an agenda, a few tricks up her sleeve but this very moment . . . she was about to enact one of them.

Brooke stumbled into the backyard as she chugged the rest of her drink. A devious smile was on her face.

"Let's play truth or dare — or maybe just dare because no one tells the truth anymore!" She exclaimed, catching everyone's attention. Brooke scanned the room, "Teresa, I dare you to pinch whitey's ass."

"I'll be right back." The dark haired girl went off inside to go find the coach, leaving everyone else to Brooke's untimely demise.

Brooke looked around once more and her eyes landed on her best friend, Peyton.

"Peyton. Show us how you really feel. Kiss Lucas." She poke with a straight face.

Everyone was silent.

Ryland glanced at Ashely, looking for some kind of expression. She knew the two were talking but she wasn't sure if Ashely had real feelings for the Scott boy.

Then there was Chad who knew it was wrong to be in love with the same girl his best friend's been in love with for the longest time. But that didn't stop his heart from sinking when hearing those words, kiss Lucas.

Peyton's eyes wandered around before turning to Lucas and grabbing his face, pulling him in. Their lips locked and no one had seen a kiss that passionate since forever. As soon as Peyton pulled away, she immediately walked off.

Lucas stood there a bit stunned, he glanced at Brooke and then shared a look with Ashely. He would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't beginning to feel anything for the Donovan girl but in the back of his mind, he always hoped for Peyton. So this was his shot and he couldn't miss. So he broke eye contact with Ashely, then went after Peyton.

Ashely then walked off back into the house because of what just happened. Ryland began to follow her friend to comfort her but Brooke got in her way.

"Ryland, leaving already? I think you might want to stay for this one." The burnette noticed Jake returning, "There's Mr. Golden Boy."

"Oh lord." Ryland mumbled, knowing exactly where this was heading. Or so she thought.

"Jake, I dare you to tell us why you really broke up with Ryland." Brooke wiggled her brows.

He suddenly got all tensed, "Just cool it, Brooke."

Brooke walked closer to him as Ryland was now curious herself, "I didn't know it was a secret."

Jake stood there silently. He didn't know what to say. After taking a few short breaths, he then walked off. Ryland immediately followed after him, calling for him. Now knowing it was a secret, she wanted to know why.

Brooke made enemies that night and it didn't just end with that little game. She eventually found her way to nathan's room and looked through his things. She found a small pouch and opened it, reading a letter from none other than tutor girl who he has grown to like.

By the end of the night, everyone hated her and man was it going to be a killer in the morning.
