Apple Farm Stalkings
Prince Draco found himself overly irritated by Princess Hermione. Of course, in the past, he had much reason to dislike her; after all, he had no knowledge of the truth about the war that took place years before, but now he couldn't really explain it. She invaded his mind for reasons he wouldn't fathom, so he hated her. Or at least he thought he did. He stared at her as she walked through his sacred apple fields. Every step she took was so graceful; even with the floor being uneven, she was so elegant. Why did she have to be so perfect? So perfect he just couldn't look away. Her figure grew smaller and smaller as she continued to walk, and he was stuck stationary, all due to his paralysing focus. It wasn't until she became more blurred due to the significant distance between them that he fell out of his trance. He swiftly followed along. Trying to catch up with her, as he basically ran through the farm, he questioned why. Why did he have this aching feeling that he had to be right by her side? Knowing she was so far beyond him, he seemed to be in pain, like without being right next to her, so close he would be able to smell her perfume, there would continue to be this gaping hole within him. What was she doing to him? All in this limited time.
Once he got close enough to see her in detail, he slowed down, assuring she didn't notice him. Not that he knew she'd seen him a while back and could hear him run.
There seemed to be some odd tension between the two, even though they didn't look at each other. It was both uncomfortable and comfortable. Draco felt like calling out for her. Hermione wanted to turn around. She could feel him look at her. She knew he'd been watching the entire time. Guess it's a human instinct, like a defence mechanism, to recognise when you're being watched.
"Granger!" Prince Draco called after a few moments of hesitation. She turned around; he was closer than she expected. One row of apples was now separated; Draco had found a gap while running. "Your Majesty." She curtsied for him, mostly sarcastically, since he referred to her without the expected respect between Royals. Being a part of the Royal Family that people don't particularly like due to stupid alliances and ignorance, she wants the consideration the rest would naturally share.
Surprisingly, Draco bowed back at her. He had an apologetic face as he did. "Princess Hermione." He said as he rose. Something about how he said her name made her smile. "I didn't know you liked apples."
"Why wouldn't I?" She questioned.
"Good point, red or green, though?" He asked it like it was the most critical question ever. "I quite like the red ones; they're just sweeter. Though through observations, I gathered you prefer green." As she finished speaking, she picked a beautiful green apple from one of the trees and handed it to him. He took it from her, "Thank you, Eve." he felt like he was being tempted to eat the freshly plucked apple, one so perfect. She chuckled at his reference. They were early Anglo-Saxons; the Royal Families recently started to convert to Christianity due to the power the Pope could provide, but most were Pagsn, subjects definitely still were. And so the Royals all held both Pagan and Christian beliefs and traditions.
The two began to carry on their walk. Hermione thought back to Princess Pansy's plan. Should she start it now? Of course, she wasn't aware that the betrothed Prince was already falling head over heels for the Princess of Wessex. "Why did you come here?" He asked her, whilst also paying attention to the apple tree patterns, to find the next gap so he could be right by her side. "I had an hour before my departure, so I figured a nice walk on a calm Autumn day would be perfect, even if this isn't Kent."
"What do you mean?"
"About Kent?" Draco nodded in response.
"Majority of the place is just like some sort of magical forest. All are kept in some kind of garden state. It's beautiful." He loved how she spoke, how she looked when she talked about the beauty of Kent's nature. So much so that he started to catch onto his own feelings that surrounded her.
Eventually, the two of them had to start walking back; after all, Princess Hermione's carriage awaited her. The walk back was sweet. The both of them exchanged stories, only recent stories, such as Hermione's last visit to Kent. As she talked about how much time she spent with Prince Harry and Lord Ronald, he almost wondered if anything else could develop from those friendships. He found himself becoming jealous, jealous of the closeness those two had to Hermione, a woman that he barely knew. Draco considered the possibility of his own sanity. Before recently, romance and love were some of the last things he would prioritise, and now, with the arranged marriage and this unusual focus on Princess Hermione, it's all he could think of. As much as he started to release the possibility of having feelings towards the Wessex Princess, he refused to admit it, not even internally. It was just a possibility.
Hermione, on the other hand, didn't recognise any feeling towards Prince Draco; she saw him as a future friend, one that she might just marry for political reasons, but love? She never even considered that.
If Princess Pansy was there and able to read her mind, she would be laughing her head off. To her, the fate of both was apparent. It was all set out before her like some romance novel. She just had to wait for it to unwind.
When the two arrived back at the central part of the Castle, they were greeted by Queen Narcissa and Queen Margaret, who informed Princess Hermione that in two weeks, she and the other Princess would journey over to the Malfoy Castle for educational purposes. They would be taught for three months, then two months off, before three more months of education, and then she would get four months off again. This would repeat two more times.
This overjoyed Hermione. She was always eager to learn, and the highest amount of education she could get, she would take.
Draco was more distracted by the fact that this all meant Princess Hermione would become a more regular person in his life. He knew this could lead to some personal issues.
