"Everyone is looking for a God or maybe some version of silver bullet that will make everything perfect. Be it through bibles, celebrities, or drugs. Humans are programmed to worship. What made you think you can change that?" Napuno ang kwarto ng tawa niya bago hinithit ang sigarilyong nakaipit sa dalawang daliri niya.

"Hindi na tama ito. This is not what I want." Umiling ang lalaki sa harap niya. 

"Ano nga ba ang tama at mali? Sa tingin mo may pakialam ang mga tao sa kung ano ang mali o tama. Sa kung ano ang mabuti o masama? They don't care about those. No, they don't. They do not see beyond their prison. Wala silang alam kung hindi ang itinuro sa kanila. People don't want to be held responsible even for their ownselves. They're scared to take a different path so they follow. They conform and they follow. Of course, it's so much easier to be told what to do. It's much easier to do what others are doing in front of you."

"You are going to kill all those people for your personal gain! You are worse than the devil." The younger man said. 

He tilted his head and leaned forward, smirking. "In this world, I am the devil as much as I am God. They are all puppets. They are educated and programmed to produce the demand for what they supply. Sometimes we need to sacrifice a few to save this society."

"This is sick. You are sick!" 

"Aren't we all? This society is just a big mental asylum. We need to force feed them fear to maintain our power. To make them think that they need us to protect them. To give them the illusion of security, of freedom. You want money, don't you? You want power. You want control."

"Hindi sa ganitong paraan." 

"Sa paanong paraan? May ibang paraan ba?" He sneered, taking a drag from his cigarette.

Silence took over the whole room. It was the eerie kind of silence that presses and suffocates. 

"I don't know. I just... I can't do this." He rose from his seat, taking a step back.

The man looked at him with dark eyes and menacing smile. "Wanting freedom from the system will only entrap you deeper into the system."
