35: You- You Look Amazing

Ryder's POV

Today was the day of the ball. I woke up, as I did every morning, to the sound of the pacman alarm and mumbling a 'morning' to the boy on the other side of the room.

He responded with a little extra spirit today.

Sierra and Josy had decided they would get me ready in their room instead of in mine and Sam's so that he wouldn't able to see. I started off the day with Sam as we would on any other day, going on a run, and eating breakfast and lunch with the others. After breakfast I trained, like usual. In my batting cage, there was now a series of moving targets, which I practised hitting balls at when training.

Then after lunch, Sierra and Josy abducted me.

"We're going to run you a nice bath," Sierra said.

"Yep, and we're going to do everything for you, don't even resist," Josy said, smiling.

"Thanks," I said, complying with them.

"Don't mention it love."

They used sweet smelling scrubs and soaps on my body, truly pampering me while we chatted about random things, gossiped and giggled. After they bathed me, they dried my hair. "Wow, what shampoo did you use?" I asked. "It smells so nice," It smelled like mango and passionfruit.

Josy showed me it. "It's my favourite. I can get you some soon, if you like," she said.

"Yeah thanks,"

"Your hair is already quite wavy, we're gonna keep it a similar style, but we're going to tame it a little," Sierra said.

"You're hair is so beautiful. You should put it down more often," Josy said.

"Sam says that too," I noticed.

"Samuel's right," Sierra added. "So he said he's going to knock at 7, right?"

"Yeah, so we have some time," Josy said.

They laid out everything on the bed. The dress was beautiful. It was simple, which was a bit of my style. The heels were cute, with a criss cross ribbon around the calf.

"Remember that aeroplane pin that Nash and Hayes got you for your 13th birthday?" I nodded. "Do you still have it?"

"Yeah it's on my bedside table,"

"Great, and the spotify bracelet Samuel got you?" I held up my wrist. "And the aquamarine necklace?"

"In the top draw of my dresser," I said. "I don't wear it throughout the day because it's valuable,"

"Cool, I'm gonna go get those," Josy said. She returned a few minutes later with them. "Samuel and Gray are just chilling in there,"

I smiled at the thought. "Do I keep this on?" I held up the silver ring which my cousin had bought me many years ago. 'Sic Parvis Magna' it read.

"Yes, it matches with everything," Sierra said.

They helped me slip into the dress. It fit perfectly, and it felt nice. They then worked on my hair, now that it wouldn't be ruined by changing clothes.

"Now that I think about it, I would have liked to put some light blue highlights in your hair, to match with the aquamarine," Josy said. Josy was known for her red highlights, and she jumps at the chance to have her way with someone else's hair.

"We'll save it for another occasion," Sierra assured.

"Are you going to put makeup on me?" I asked after they finished on my hair.

"No, of course not," Josy said while painting my nails black.

"Have you seen yourself love? There's no need to ruin you beautiful face with a layer of paint," Sierra chuckled.

I smiled. "Thanks, if you say so,"

"Yes, we do say so." Josy assured.

I stood up and looked in front of the mirror. "Wow."

The two women stood either side of me. "You look beautiful, love," Sierra said. And I believed it. I liked how I looked.

Josy bent to the floor and slipped my feet into the heels, wrapping and tying the ribbon around. "How does that feel?" she asked. I moved my feet a little.

"Perfect,"

"Good, it matches well," Sierra said.

"Now since Samuel bought you a nice aquamarine necklace, we got you aquamarine earrings," Josy said, bringing me a box.

My jaw dropped. "This is too much!"

They shook their heads, "No it's not love, put them on!" Sierra chuckled.

I gave them a disapproving look, but complied. Sierra came up behind me with the necklace and put it on for me. They matched, adding a whole new style to the look. Josy pinned the aeroplane pin onto the top left of my dress, over my heart.

"One last thing," Sierra said. She gave me a black metal clutch bag, and I slung it on. I placed my phone and other thing into it.

"Wait, don't I need to sling on my bat?" I said.

Josy shook her head. "Gray offered to lock it away in his vault,"

I smiled. "You guys are too good to me," I said.

"We didn't want you to have to carry it around the whole night," Sierra said.

The two women stepped back from me for a second, eyeing me up and down, to see if they forgot anything. Josy reached forward after a couple of seconds and adjusted my sleeves, so that the bracelet on my wrist could be seen.

"She looks perfect, doesn't she Josy?" Sierra said.

"Yes, yes she does," Josy agreed.

I looked back at myself in the mirror. For once in my life, I felt perfect.

"He should be here soon," Josy said. "Are you ready?"

I took a deep breathe. "Yeah, I think so,"

"Can I take a picture of you?" Sierra asked, and I nodded, smiling for the camera as it flashed.

A couple of minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Sierra and Josy gestured for me to open it.

I opened it, revealing Sam. We both drunk in each other's appearances.

Sam wore an all black suit, with one of the black shirts he had bought a couple of years back. The top two buttons were undone, teasingly. He had all black air force 1s on, and on the left side of his blazer, he had the Pacman and Ghost badges I had bought him for his birthday. In his right hand, he had one single blue rose. His hair resembled the same look as every other day, which I liked. He looked hot

"H-Hey, Rye," he started, his blue eyes returning to mine. "You- You look amazing" he said, grinning.

"You too, Sam," I smiled back.

"This is for you," he said, holding the rose out to me. I took it from him, thanking him. He looked past me, at Sierra and Josy, and gave them a small wave.

"Samuel, Ryder, can we take a photo of the two of you?" Sierra asked. I looked to Sam and he nodded. I stepped closer to him, and he snaked his arm around my waist, making me smile.

"You two look so good," Josy said. "Now go, enjoy yourselves,"

Gray stuck his head around the corner, and Josy brought my bat over. "I'll take that for you. You look beautiful Ryder," he said, taking the bat. He had obviously been with Sam for the afternoon, and hadn't seen me yet.

"Thank you," I said, before Sam led me to the elevator.

"Come on, let's go," he said, smiling.
