Sam's POV

At 6 we went to eat dinner which was delicious: lasagne. Rye surprisingly hadn't had it before, but she liked it.

"I'll show you the bar now. I mean, we call it the bar, but it's actually multiple rooms, and only one of them is a bar. That's where most people spend their evenings," I said. "They're like rec rooms, or common rooms," I could imagine that what I had said must have sounded very strange, but Rye went along with it.

Like I had said, most of the people that Rye had already met were in there. I saw Samara, Mila, and Kara, and took Rye to introduce to them.

"Guys, this is Ryder, Ryder, this is Samara, Blake's girlfriend, Mila, Tex's wife, and Kara, Roman's wife," I gestured to them.

"Hi lovely, I haven't had a chance to speak to you yet. I'm sure you've met a lot of people in a short amount of time, so we can get to know each other once you've settled in properly, okay?" Mila said, one hand on her belly. I had already told Rye that she was expecting twins.

"Hi sweet, Roman mentioned you, like Mila said, I'm sure we'll see each other around and talk more. We don't want to stress you out just yet," Kara said, giving Rye a genuine smile.

Samara gave Ryder a fake smile, before walking off. I watched Rye's smile falter, and Kara and Mila were quick to her refuge.

"Don't mind Samara, honey, she's in a bad mood sometimes, it's nothing personal," Mila said.

"Yeah, don't let it get to you sweet," Kara added.

I placed a hand on Rye's shoulder, "It's okay, come on, I told you she could be harsh sometimes." I felt bad. The way that Rick reacted to her past had told me that it hadn't been easy for her out there, so I knew she could take the odd comment or bad reaction, but she didn't deserve it. She deserved so much better. She was such a sweet, genuine, interesting person, and I wasn't about to let Samara ruin her day.

We went over to Gray and Sierra, who were sat at the bar, having some kind of alcoholic beverage.

"We thought we'd have a drink, to celebrate our return," Sierra said.

"Samara's being a bitch again," I stated. Gray and Sierra gave me disapproving looks.

"Samuel," Gray started.

"Honey, we've told you before, calling her that only makes her hate everyone more." Sierra said.

"I know, but Ryder never did anything to her. She could have at least said hi," I sighed.

"It's okay," Rye said. "It's no big deal," she added. Why did she have to be so nice? I thought to myself.

"I'm glad you're taking it well, love. If she causes you any problems just come and let one of us know, okay?" Sierra said.

Rye nodded. We talked to the two for a little longer before I decided I would show her the room with all the instruments.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"The music room," I said.
