Tulsa
I never went back to that camp, I walked to Tulsa. Well, I walked into a town and called a cab to drive me to Tulsa, but it doesn't matter how I got here. I got here! I lay in my bed and think to myself, Soda will never want me now.
***************
"Dylan! Dylan! Open up!" Steve yells as he pounds on my door. I groan as I roll over in my bed. "Dylan, I am going to break the door down if you don't open up right now! Dylan open this door right now! Dylan, we all miss you!"
"Shut up!" I mumble.
"Dylan, just open the door," it's now Two-bit's voice.
"And if I don't?" I ask them all sassy like.
"We'll break it down," Dally declares.
"Cool," I shrug snuggling back under my covers.
"Soda, really missed you," Ponyboy informs me.
"I'm just busting the door open," I hear Dally grumble.
"Dally don-" I hear Steve start, but before he can finish the door is on the ground.
I groan as I stand up from my bed and look at my dark room and the gang -except Alex and Soda- standing in the doorway, "what?"
"Are you still upset about the lake house?" Darry asks now concerned as he sits next to me putting a hand on my thigh.
"No, just at life," I shrug.
"I hear ya loud and clear kiddo," Dally shouts making me laugh. "Now that's the smile I'm looking for."
"Stop makin' me laugh, I'm supposed to still be all sad!" I whine jokingly.
Two-bit cracks a goofy grins as he says, "that's the Dylan we all know and love!"
"Awe, you're just sayin' that to make me smile," I joke.
"Well it worked," he rebuts jokingly. "Let's go back to the Curtis house."
"I've missed ya'll let me just get all cleaned up," I smile before they leave and I jump in the shower.
The rest of the day flies by so fast, I can barley remember what happened.
