The last month and a half of Kirstie's pregnancy seemed to just drag by. They were more than ready for this baby to be born. Kirstie was tired to being fat and not being able to see her feet. Tim was tired of Kirstie's mood swings. One minute she was a kitten the next minute she was a lion ready to draw blood, usually Tim's. Not to mention, the late-night runs to the store for Tim to get ice cream and pickles.

They had no more problems out of Mitch Grassi. Not long after Tim and Kirstie filed a restraining order on him, his family filed bankruptcy. The Grassi's had gone broke just as Scott had said. Mitch was too ashamed to show his face.

Scott had become friends again with Kirstie and Avi. He had even gotten to know Tim and Adam well. They all got along great with Mitch out of the picture.

Even though Tim loved his small apartment, he did have to admit that it would be too small after the baby came. So they decided to move into Kirstie's house. Her grandmother had passed away and left her a nice two bedroom house with a large living room, huge kitchen, laundry room and two full bathrooms. Even had a large storage building. Kirstie had plans buying Tim his own four-wheeler to go in there. 

Since the apartment Tim lived in came furnished with everything, he really didn't have that much to move. They have been living in Kirstie's house for going on two weeks and Tim actually enjoyed it. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and had a real neighborly feel to it.

They had fixed the smaller of the two bedrooms up into a nursery. Everything was ready. Just waiting on Bailey.

As they were getting ready to leave the shop after another hard day at work, Adam gets a frantic phone call from Avi.

Tim and Chance stop and listens while Adam tries to get his boyfriend to calm down and talk so that he could understand him.

Adam hangs up and stares at Tim.

"What? What's wrong?" Tim asks, looking at his friend's blank expression.

"It's Kirstie. Her water broke. Avi's taken her to the hospital." Adam says.

Tim's face loses all color. The guys weren't even sure if he was breathing.

"Tim?" Chance chuckles lightly taking the paralyzed man by the arm.

"Oh my, God." Tim says softly, letting go of the breath he was holding.

"We need to get to the hospital." Adam says, snapping his fingers in front of Tim trying to bring him back to reality.

"Hospital." Tim whispers and nods.

"You guys go on, I'll call Rob." Chance says. "Adam, you need to drive." He laughs.

Adam sped all the way to the hospital weaving in and out of traffic. Tim held on to the dashboard, praying that they weren't going to get killed.

They run into the emergency room and up to admittance.

"Could I help you?" The receptionist smiles at the two out of breath men.

"I'm having a baby! I mean, my girlfriend is having a baby." Tim says, trying to catch his breath.

"Her name?" The lady giggles at the panicked man.

"Kirstin ...Uh." Tim stops as his mind goes completely blank.

"Maldonado." Adam says with a chuckle.

"Yeah, that's it." Tim nods.

"Go through these double doors and down the hall. She's is room 5." The receptionist says with a smile.

"Thanks." Tim nods as he and Adam head for the double doors.

Their old work boots echo loudly on the tile floor in the empty hallway.

Tim stops at the door of room 5 and tries to take a calming breath before opening the door.

Avi sat in a chair next to the bed as a nervous looking Kirstie lay in the bed eating some crushed ice.

Both smile as they see their boyfriends enter the room.

"So?" Tim asks sitting down in a chair on the other side of the bed and takes Kirstie by the hand. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm alright, right now. The pain has eased." Kirstie smiles. "I haven't dilated all the way yet. So it may be awhile."

"Is there anything I did to do?" Tim asks.

"Yes, calm down. Your hand is shaking." Kirstie giggles.

"It's got good reason. I thought Adam was going to kill us on the way here." Tim chuckles.

"But I do need someone to call mom." Kirstie says.

"I'll go call her." Avi says standing up from his chair. "You coming with me?" He asks Adam.

"Yeah, I need some coffee." Adam smiles and takes Avi by the hand as they walk out of the room.

Tim leans over and kisses Kirstie softly on the lips.

"Wow, this is just ... mind-blowing." Tim chuckles softly.

"What is?" Kirstie says as she runs her hand through Tim's hair.

"It's just hard to believe that I'm actually going to be a daddy in a little while." Tim says as he tries to swallow the lump that was rising in his throat.

"And I'm going to be a mommy. It does feel strange doesn't it." She giggles. "It doesn't feel real."

The doctor comes in to check Kirstie, Tim leaves just long enough to call his mom in Texas.

As he walks back to the room, he sees Adam and Avi waiting in the hallway.

"She's still with the doctor." Adam tells him. "You alright?"

"Yeah, I think." Tim chuckles.

Suddenly a loud agonizing scream is heard from room 5.

The three men freeze in horror.
