For Tristan (Sneak Peek)
Book #1 in the Tristan series.
What happens when you ignore love at first sight? What about ignoring fate?
Find out as Damien and Lily find eachother once again in this steamy romance that takes you from their teenage years, to their journey to parenting a young boy named Tristan. Blood doesn't always run thicker than water as they both learn.
This story will make you laugh, cry, and things do get a little hot.
Damien and Lily's story is a mature read, intended for people over the age of eighteen. As with all my stories, the music attached means something to the book. I would advise listening to the songs when they're attached to a chapter.

Chapter One
Lily
"Damn, it's as hot as a nun in a cucumber patch," Dad said as he pulled a handkerchief out of his back pocket and wiped the sweat from his brow.
"Dad! Seriously!" I stared down at my feet as I walked between him and my cousin Bianca. My attempt to hide from my embarrassment was futile. Bianca appreciated my father's quirky personality. Me? Not so much.
Dad peered at me like I had two heads. "What?" He asked with confusion written all over his face.
"That's not appropriate. There are people everywhere." I reminded him.
"So." He said as he half shrugged.
"So?" I frowned, wondering how he could think it was appropriate? "You can't speak like that in public. It's your company picnic. Aren't you worried people will get the wrong idea of you and think your behaving unprofessional?"
He laughed. "Since when does an ironworker care about being professional?"
He stops at the picnic table and pulls a beer out of his cooler. "Do you want a beer?" He offers. And before I realized what I was doing, I gave myself a facepalm.
"Dad, I'm fifteen-years-old. The last time I checked, that wasn't the legal drinking age." Bianca started to reach into the cooler, but I slapped her hand away.
"There's pop over there." I pointed toward the coolers lined up under the shelter.
"You're such a party pooper." Bianca pouted, before walking over to grab herself a drink.
"You're one straight-laced kid. We need to take a DNA test, because I don't think you're mine." Dad chuckled as my mother smacked him on the arm.
"Darren, leave the kid alone." She walked over and kissed me on the temple. "Ignore him, sweetie. Now, Darren, be generous and help out on the grills, and Lily, go work the duck game."
I was happy to help, because I love children. That was until I met a little demon named Jack.
"Pick any duck you want, then flip it over and tell me the number. The number on the bottom will tell us what prize you win." I instructed him while his grey eyes scanned all the ducks.
"All these ducks are yellow, and I don't like yellow. I want a black duck." He pouted.
"Just pick a duck, Jack." I knew before I looked up it was a teenage boy's voice I was hearing, but the sight of him sent shivers down my spine.
"All we have are yellow ducks. Besides, you wouldn't see the number on the bottom if it was black." I tried to explain, but the boy just rolled his eyes.
"These prizes are stupid anyways." The boy walked off. "Sorry about that; he's a bit spoiled." The young man said to me.
"It's fine. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day." I shrugged it off, then looked at the little girl behind him and started all over again.
He lingered there for a moment before walking away.
After a few hours, mom approached me and told me I was clear to enjoy the rest of the day with Bianca.
Every year, my parent's company held a picnic at the local amusement park. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either. Kind of like a vamped up carnival. Bianca's dad, Gary, is my uncle, and he also works for my parents.
Bianca and I stood in line to ride the Ferris wheel. Some guys in line behind us were horseplaying, and it became difficult to ignore.
"I guarantee when you're in college, you'll screw around." One guy said to the other. I don't turn around. Instead, I look at Bianca, and we both giggle.
"Shut up; you don't know shit." I recognize the second guy's voice. It's the same as the one from the duck game earlier with his little brother.
"That's Damien Wesley and Logan Hennesy. They're seniors this year, and both just a couple of jocks. Damien dates Chastity Devers. She's the head cheerleader and kind of a pain in the ass." Bianca whispers.
As the line moved forward, Logan's voice grew loud again. "Hey, there, beautiful ladies. Which one of you wants to ride with this hunk?" He wiggled his eyebrows.
"Good God, shut up Logan." Bianca rolled her eyes.
"Now, who is this beauty?" Logan asks as he gives me a once over. Of course, I rolled my eyes before turning back around.
"She's out of your league, Logan," Bianca says.
"Oh, come on, Bianca. Don't act like you don't want a piece of this after, you know." Bianca turns toward me. "Ignore him, Lily. He's the school, buffoon."
"OUCH!"
Quickly, I turn around and notice Logan is holding his hand over his heart like he's been shot. Damien just stands there with his hands in his pockets shaking his head.
"You're a dumbass, Logan."
I turn back around and move forward in line again.
"Dude, seriously she's fucking hot. Look at that ass! Chastity has nothing on that chick. Go for it." Logan doesn't even attempt to whisper.
"Dude, chill out and give them a break."
At least someone has some common sense.
I was relieved when we were able to finally take our turn, except Logan jumped ahead, grabbing Bianca, and pulled her into the seat with him. So, instead of getting on, I stepped aside and decided to wait.
"Sorry about that, Logan is an ass," Damien announces.
I shrugged my shoulders. "There's one in every school, I guess."
"I'm Damien, and you are?"
He held out his hand to shake mine, and I wanted to laugh. Who does that in high school?
"Lily Anderson," I say while shaking his hand.
By the time the ride was over, Bianca was locking lips with the bafoon. My eyes widened as I stared at them in shock.
"What school do you attend? You look very familiar." Damien says as I watch Bianca, shaking my head.
"South Langdon."
"Oh. Is Chad Ditmer your Quarterback?"
I nod my head.
"Why do you look so familiar?" Damien questions.
"Just one of those faces, I guess." I tuck my hair behind my ear, feeling shy.
"No, that's certainly not true." He replies as he leans against the railing.
"I'm sure it's not. You would definitely stand out in any crowd." He glances down at his feet.
"Hey, we're going down by the lake. Do you wanna come?" Logan says with a huge smile on his face.
"There's my girl," Chad says and puts his arm around me.
I jumped in surprise. "I didn't think you'd be here till later," I said to Chad, who was supposed to be at football practice.
"We got done early, and I didn't want to keep my girl waiting. How is your Dad? Does he need any help?"
"Nope, they're done feeding everybody and now they're just drinking. The band started a while ago." I answered.
"Bianca, it's good to see you." Chad lets go of me and hugs my cousin. "Is this your boyfriend?" He asks.
Bianca laughs. "Hell no, this is Logan Hennesy, our team bench warmer, and Damien Wesley. He's actually a great quarterback." Logan glances at Bianca with amusement.
"Yeah, Damien Wesley. You gave Fairfield one hell of an ass kicking last season. I'm Chad Ditmer, the quarterback at South Langdon." Chad introduces himself, and they shake hands.
