I spent the next day at home repeatedly trying to call Marie to no luck. I knew that she wasn't answering her phone because of Freedom Fighter but it still hurt... unless she wasn't answering it because she's not... I shook my head at the thought. I guess I'll just have to talk to her on Monday. I sat in my bed thinking about the past couple of days when all of the sudden I saw a purple flash. I jumped up and readied an energy blast.

"You have exactly two seconds before-" I began to say before I saw it was actually Nix walking out of a portal. "Nikki?"

"What? Were you expecting the pope?... how cool would it be if I were the pope?" Nikki said.

"One, how did you find out where I live and two, why are you here?"

"Well the first one... that's not important. The second one is I'm here for our date you said we could have because I saved your little friend." I gritted my teeth when she referred to Winter.

"I thought we agreed on Tuesday?"

"I know but things have been kinda slow the past few days and I just couldn't wait to see your handsome face again."

"Look, Nikki, you seem like a... mentally unstable girl, to be completely honest.-"

"Awwwww, thanks! You just know the right things to say!"

"But, I only said I'd go out with you so you wouldn't kill my... friend." I said. I couldn't stomach to associate the word with Winter anymore.

"What, did you think I didn't know that?" She said before getting up onto the bed. "I knew you weren't really into going out with a babe you just met, no matter how smoking hot or insane she was, but now that I have you, I'm gonna make it worth your while~." She sang crawling closer to me as she did. She slowly brought her hand to the side of my face before I got up.

"Sorry, But I have too much on my mind right now." I said. Nikki looked at me before sitting down on my bed with her legs crossed.

"Like what? Tell me about it." She said.

"... What are you-"

"Showing that I can listen."

"...Well I guess for starters there was the thing at the carnival where Winter attacked me and my friend Marie. Things were going good between us then Winter throws it all away. Now Marie isn't answering her phone because of her stupid dad who's a hero convinced that I'm a super villain. Then I had this girl named C-1 living in my attic. She's this cyborg girl who got tortured and mutilated by terrorists before another prisoner saved her life. She was destroying the city before I caught her when she fell into a dumpster full of broken glass. She was being held prisoner upstairs where we actually started to kinda bond but then I guess her boss broke her out. And I forgot to mention that the entire reason I was even out that night to catch her was because of some sniper girl that I know nothing about-"

"Wait, did you say sniper girl that you know nothing about?" Nikki repeated.

":..Uhh, Yeah?"

"Did you see her?"

"I saw her once."

"Did she have hair that could be anywhere between black and dark blue?"

"I guess when she wasn't wearing a wig."

"Did she have a weird sniper rifle that turned into a grappling hook?"

"She had a gun and a grappling hook."

"I think I know who you're talking about!" Nikki said before jumping off my bed and grabbing me by the hand. "Come on I'll go find her!" She said before opening my door and running me out of the room. We ran down the stairs before and when we passed the living room with my mom watching tv, Nikki said "Hi future mom! Bye future mom!" before running out the door.

"Hold on, where are we going!?" I asked her.

"Don't worry about it! Just get ready to do that tough act thing you did when we first met!" She said.

"You couldn't... think of... a better way to get to downtown... then to run all the way there!?" I shouted at Nikki as we caught our breath.

"I did... but you wouldn't have been... a fan!" She said.

"Literally anything is better than running like that!" I said. After we caught our breath I said "Alright, now why did you drag me all the way to an alley way in downtown?"

"Hold on." She said before she slashed through the air with Jazz and a portal showed up.

"Why didn't you-"

"Don't follow me." She said before jumping in. She came back out and handed me my black mask. "Put this on." She told me before closing the portal. I put it on. "Don't question it just hide behind that dumpster over there." She said.

"So are you just gonna keep beating around the bush or?"

"Just do it. Trust me." She said with a evil smile on her face.

"How do you expect me to trust you after smiling like that?" I asked her before walking behind the dumpster. Nikki then walked over to a couple of boxes and pulled out a boom box. A song with slow guitar started playing as Nikki waited around. Before long a bullet went through the boom box and a girl slowly climbed out of a window.

"What do you want, freak? I told you that that's for customer's only." The girl said pressing the end of the sniper under Nikki's chin.

"C'mon, Recon! I told you just call me Nix! I like the name you guys came up with for me but you know I think superhero names are bullshit!... no offense." Nikki said.

"Just explain why you're here..." Recon said taking the sniper away from Nix's neck.

"Well you see..." Nikki said turning around to look over at me. "I'm actually here for a-" She said before Recon smashed the sniper in the back of her head. Nikki fell to the floor out cold and Recon pointed the Sniper at her head while she placed a foot on her back. She aimed her gun at her and smirked before saying "You can come out. I know you're here." I took that as my cue and walked out with my hands in my pockets. "I've been expecting you." She said with a smirk.

"Same here."
