I found myself actually not able to make the decision. I felt like I was slightly leaning more towards letting her go before one of her robot arms shot out to grab a glass bottle and smash it right into the hole and my mask. I grabbed my face in pain before I felt something shoot through the space between my chest and my left shoulder. I fell to the ground as she dusted herself off.

"You took too long to decide." C-1 said proud of herself as she dusted herself off. "Now to find a way out of here so red doesn't see me... Guess I could always just leg it. Superspeed and what not. But she could always track me from the lights it makes. Should talk to Janet about that. Cool in design, but tactically..." She said before looking back at me, my bloody eye glaring at her making her flinch. "Don't look at me like that! You would've done the same if someone was about to-"

"Let you go."

"...Repeat that."

"I was going to let you go." I told her.

"...Really?" She scoffed. "After I blind side you twice and destroy a majority of the area? You're pretty stupid for a hero." She said with a smirk as she kneeled down to my face.

"I'm not a hero. I just weigh each side and see which one is truly better. I was going to let you go and get your revenge on whoever tortured you." I simply said, still glaring at her. Her expression softened before looking away with a guilty look. She started to look around frantically while biting her nails before she found a first aid kit. She walked over to it and took out the equipment.

"Bare with me, I've never tried to bandage a laser wound before." She said. She began to peel my mask off before I spat blood in her face and it landed right on her eyepatch. She growled before sighing defeatedly. "I deserved that." She said before lowering my mask back down and trying to wrap the bandage around my arm. "...There. That should do i-" She said before I punched her in the jaw with my good arm. She stepped back a couple feet and felt her jaw before dodging an energy blast. "I thought you said you were going to let me go!?"

"Keyword in the sentence I used was 'was'." I said before shooting another energy blast at her.

"Alright I deserve that too, but I'm serious this time! Stop shooting and I'll just leave! No more cheap shots!" She said dodging more and more blasts. I didn't answer as I kept shooting at her. She jumped behind the counter and hid. "Please!" She shouted. It was at this point I noticed she wasn't fighting back. Her funeral.

"What the hell happened in here?" I looked behind me and saw Prodigy walk in.

"What did you expect from a cyborg resisting arrest?" I asked her.

"Jesus, your eye-"

"I'm fine." I said looking back at C-1.

"I'm telling you for real I give up! I'm not going to fight back anymore! Just let me go." She said once more in a defeated tone. I looked over to Prodigy.

"...What are you waiting for? Arrest her, hero." I said. Prodigy was taken aback before looking at C-1. C-1's sorrowful and defeated look turned into one of anger.

"I'm not leaving with you! I'll let him take me away but not you!" She said before shooting a laser at Prodigy. I tried to pull Prodigy out of the way with my good arm but she still got a laser in her left arm. I looked back at saw a neon green light slowly fade away leading out the door. I sighed aggressively before taking off my mask and looking at Prodigy.

"You couldn't have electrocuted her mother board or something while she was yelling at you?" I asked her.

"Why didn't you do anything!?"

"I did. I saved your life." I said before looking at my reflection on a piece of broken glass. "Mom's gonna kill me..." I muttered seeing half my face covered with blood. Stray hairs were glued to my forehead as I could feel sweat still falling into the blood and mixing. Prodigy took off her glasses and looked at her reflection in them.

"Dad's not gonna be happy either." She muttered. Then in unison, our eyes widened and we looked at each other.

"Did you just take off your..." We said before we both became quiet. Her eyes actually changed when she took off her red shades that at first glance look like shadows until you realize they don't match the pattern of her hair. Surprisingly they did alter her appearance. She didn't have a lot of blemishes on her face. A couple of scrapes, but not enough to distract from her other features. Her blue eyes were hypnotizing, her nose was somehow also attractive, and her lips looked pillow soft. Not too mention, at this distance you could see the faintest existence of freckles. They weren't prominent, just slightly darker shades circles on her cheeks that only started to stand out now that her cheeks were pink for some reason. We snapped back to reality when we heard sirens. I put my mask back on and shoved my hands in my pockets before beginning to walk away.

"Wait, where are you going?" Prodigy asked.

"Away. Can't do what I came downtown to do anymore so I'm done here. I don't like police. Even if you did catch her, I wouldn't have stuck around. Never be famous, always be Anonymous." I said looking for a back entrance.

"You can't just walk home like that! Come back to my place, at least. I'll fix you up so you don't..."

"Look like shit? Take the blood off and I still look like shit. So no thanks, I don't want to meet your 'heroic' Dad."

"How'd you know he was a-"

"Your name is Prodigy. Unless it's a metaphorical Prodigy and you're the daughter of Zeus and whoever the God of rocks is, your parents are superheroes." I said finding a window. I lifted it up and began to climb out of it before looking at Prodigy. "However, if you want, you can... follow me to my place and I'll bandage you up instead. As long as you promise not to memorize the address or the street or anything weird." I said before jumping down to the ground. As I walked home I checked my phone and I had like 12 missed calls from some unknown number and a text asking "are you alright?!?!?!". I raised an eyebrow at it before putting my phone away and looking behind me to see Prodigy slowly walking a distance away from me. She stopped when she saw me staring. "If you're gonna come with me, hurry up!" I said before she glided towards me before plopping down next to me and we walked in silence.
