Episode 6: The Rise And Fall Of Our Dreams
The blue light exploded for a second before all was quiet. Dipper slowly opened his eyes and peered at the peculiar scene around him.
They were in both Gravity Falls and Piedmont. But how could that be? Well, the Mystery Museum was in plain view, but the Piedmont library was right next to it.
What made it even more peculiar was that everything was in black and white.
Snapping out of his daze, Dipper realized what their task was. "What are we supposed to be looking for?"
"A yellow triangle with a top hat. Very hard to miss."
When Dipper nodded he heard a voice from behind him say, "Her name is—Mabel. That rhymes with—table. That also rhymes with—schmabel!"
Turning around the two boys were met with a familiar face—Mabel Pines. Except, she wasn't Mabel. She was wearing a pink sweater with a shooting star. Her pants was now a purple skirt and her sneakers had transformed into black mary janes and knee-high white socks. Also her orange headband was now purple.
Her face was also much bright—much happier.
"Mabel?" Gideon warily asked.
The girl giggled happily and shook her head no. "Nope! I'm Shooting Star! That makes me Mabel's conscience!"
Gideon and Dipper looked at each other, shocked.
"Her conscience?" Gideon asked.
Shooting Star giggled again. "Yup!"
"What was up with that rap?" He asked.
"I'm unappreciated in my time." She said happily, although Gideon couldn't fathom as to why she was so happy all the time.
"Oh, yeah!" She exclaimed joyfully. "I also represent all of Mabel's happiness!" Well that answered that question.
"Um," Dipper said, "what's a conscience?"
Mabel smiled at him. "A conscience is the person that puts all of the good thoughts into your head! A sub-conscience is the one that puts all of the terrible thoughts in your head. Don't get them mixed up."
She looked over to Gideon. "So you're here to get Bill, aren't ya'?"
Gideon nodded grimly. "Could you help us?" Mabel smiled even wider.
"Sure! But first," she pulled something out from seemingly nowhere, "grappling hook!" She yelled randomly and used her grappling hook to toss her into a tree.
Dipper did the same thing and the two looked down at Gideon, as if they expected him to do the same thing. Dipper and Shooting Star looked more like twins than Mabel and him ever could.
"So, Shooting Star," he yelled up to her, "how can we get him out of Mabel's head!"
Shooting Star waved a little and yelled, "First of all, we need to wake the Boss up! She'll know what to do! She's even smarter than Fear!"
Gideon and Dipper exchanged funny looks but didn't question it. Dipper and Shooting Star grappled their way down to Gideon so they could make a plan.
"Now," Shooting Star said, "Bill should be here any second now."
Gideon gave her another funny look when suddenly a one-eyed triangle appeared out of thin air.
"Oh, my!" It said. "You're smarter than you look, Shooting Star! Long time no see! Or should I say," it turned red, "long time no stone!"
With a start Gideon realized it was Bill Cipher. "Cipher! Get out of Mabel's head!"
Bill laughed a booming laugh, going back to yellow. "Why would I do that? I have a job to do. Your power would never match mine, Northwest!"
"Hey!" Dipper yelled. "How can you say that for sure? You would never be able to know unless we go up against you!"
Bill laughed again and his eye crinkled up into a smile. "I know everything, Shining Star! I know what you're thinking right now!" He snapped his fingers and two blinding boys popped up out of nowhere.
Both Dipper and Shooting Star squealed. Shooting Star clung onto the blue-haired one and Dipper took the blonde one.
"I'm in heaven right now!" They both exclaimed at the same time.
It was weird for Gideon to watch the usually calm Mabel explode like that.
"Yo!" The blue-haired one greeted. "Shooting Star, Dipper! Long time no see!" Shooting Star snuggled the leg she was holding onto.
"I'm never washing this cheek again!"
"Me too!"
The two high-fived each other.
"Smell you later!" Bill exclaimed before Gideon used his amulet to stop him.
"Why are you here?" He questioned. Somehow the demon could still freely move.
"Just to get a code to a safe and to find some dirt on Mabel to make you guys hate you, but no big deal. Bye!"
And with that he was gone. Gideon turned to Shooting Star. "What do we have to do?"
