Tony Stark's firstborn daughter was no secret to the world.

From the moment she was born, the world watched Josephine Stark grow up. They saw her, through Iron Man and the Avengers taking the world by storm, through the newspapers and magazines that covered her them. And when she was old enough to agree to it all herself, she began covering her own magazines, too. By the time she was sixteen, between her modeling career and her social media presence, yes, the world knew her.

But who the world saw her as, was not all she was. There were still things they didn't know about. There were still things they didn't see.

They didn't see her get caught in a laboratory accident when she was 18, and they didn't see the fear it had put her family through, when she came out of it with superpowers. They didn't know that that was the last time she had seen her father for nearly four years.

Her family hadn't meant for four years to go by-- four years since she'd seen her father and stepmother, four years since she'd seen her baby sister, four years since she'd seen the rest of the team, who were more like a second family to her than just her father's colleagues. But once that summer had passed and Joey had gotten her powers under control, Ultron struck, shaking things up more than anyone was prepared for.

Tony didn't want Joey around following the Ultron incident; not with the security issues, not when she was already a target for her relation to him, and not when she now had powers that would change the worlds opinion of her, should they find out. So when she wasn't at school, she was staying in her childhood home with her mom and stepmother, Heidi and May, and if the threat was extra high, she would stay in Missouri with the Bartons, for extra safekeeping. The rest of that year had come and gone, and as the aftermath of Ultron was slowly dealt with, so had the next, and the next, and the next.

But now it was 2025, and Joey was just shy of 22 years old. The craziness following Ultron and the fluke that was the Sokovia Accords was finally coming to a close, and she had just graduated college with her Bachelor's degree in forensic chemistry, all while existing as the public figure she always was-- now, with the secret of her powers.

Things were different now, even in ways she knew she couldn't plan for. Returning to the compound all these years later, seeing everyone again, starting her career... it terrified her. She wasn't just 'Tony's kid' anymore-- she was an adult, she was educated, she was Enhanced.

But there would always be people who saw her only for who her father was.
