A slight mix-up
Gideon wickedly rubbed his palms together, trying to see past the two monsters who struggled to place Marco in his glass - box prison. Once he was finally in, the monsters broke away, giving the freckled boy a chance to finally look at the other boy. He stepped up to the glass casing. Man, he couldn't wait to see the look on Dipper's face.
"Well, well, Dipper." He began. "Finally, today I get my vengeance on - "
Unfortunately for Gideon, Dipper was not the one in the protected glass box. Though, Marco did look up when he heard his friend, Dipper's name.
"What?!" Gideon exclaimed loudly. "You aren't - "
He suddenly turned his attention on Toffee, who stood a couple of feet away from him.
"You!" Gideon aggressively pointed at the lizard man. "You messed everything up!"
Toffee kept his cool and remained calm and collected, while talking to the angered boy. "I simply disagree. We have succeeded."
"Wait a second." Marco said, cutting Toffee and Gideon's argument short. "You thought I was Dipper?"
Toffee's eyes fell on Gideon, letting him be the one to explain everything. He giggled and blushed, then changed his mood back to yelling and frustration. "You know that fool, Dipper?"
"Okay, first of all, I wouldn't really call him foolish. He's more of a bit awkward and - "
Gideon cut him off. "Enough with the games, boy!"
"What games?"
"I didn't escape from prison to deal with an irritating brat like you!"
Marco couldn't hold back his laugh. "Woah, prison?! What did you do? Steal a lot of hair products?"
Gideon appeared bright red on the cheeks, aggravation quickly rising in him. "Shut it!" He snapped at Marco.
By this point, Marco was cracking up. When he finally was able to catch his breath, he said, "No, no. Don't tell me. The real crime was the hair."
Before Gideon could have his temper explode, Toffee stepped in. "That's enough." He said in a relaxed manner.
As Marco tried to straighten himself up, Gideon balled - up his temper in his gritted teeth and eye twitch.
"Okay, so I was the one you wanted. Why? What do you want from me, anyway?"
"Oh, don't worry." Toffee went on. "We're not after you. It's your friend we're really after."
Marco's baffled face made Toffee attempt to explain again.
"You see, Star Butterfly will come for you. Of course, she wouldn't come without her precious wand."
Marco, trying to wrestle his wrists free from his restraints in his chair, thought otherwise. "There's no way you will get Star's wand!"
"Precisely. That is, unless she has no choice. Do you really think she would give up her wand without a fight? Not unless it meant getting someone she cared about back. In this case, that 'someone' is you."
Marco settled in his seat, listening to Toffee speak through the glass box.
"I will only release you when the wand is destroyed, which only the owner of the wand can do."
"...Star." Marco whispered, though Toffee was able to pick up Marco's voice.
"Correct." Toffee said.
Gideon stared up at Toffee, wondering why he even desired to help him in the first place. He was wasting his time. How was he going to get his revenge now with a worthless teenager?
