The Gravity Falls Carnival

Dedicated to LunaADHeart, who helped me out with the plot of the story.

(Just a heads up that Bill and Violesta are together/lovers in this chapter. Thought everyone would be confused while reading this chapter if I didn't explain. Also, Dipper and Mabel are at least 15 or 16 in this. The video/song belongs to MandoPony)

Dipper and Mabel were sitting at the table eating breakfast, talking about what they were planning on doing for the day. "Me, Candy, and Grenda are going out shopping today." Mabel said, taking another spoonful of her cereal in her mouth. "That's cool, me and Gruncle Ford are going to be playing Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons." Dipper said, writing in his journal. "Or, you kids could help me set up the carnival." Gruncle Stan said, walking over to the twins. "What carnival Gruncle Stan?" Mabel asked, not hearing of a carnival coming to town. "You see Mabel, to make money, you have to give the people what they want." Stan started to explain. "So, since people like carnivals, I have decided to set up one here in Gravity Falls. I'll charge $6 a person, and make money in no time." Dipper rolled his eyes, trying to ignore his Gruncle. Gruncle Stan was always trying to make money in any way possible, whether smuggling pugs across the border, or overcharging people in buying merchandise from the Mystery Shack.

"That sounds like a fun idea, Gruncle Stan!" Mabel said, almost knocking over her bowl of cereal. "I'll even help you out plan out some carnival games! Are you gonna help Dipper?" "No thanks, I'm not going to help him rip people off for some cheap carnival." Dipper replied, standing up from the table, grabbing his journal and empty bowl, and walking towards the kitchen. Mabel walked in after him, trying to convince him otherwise. "Aw, c'mon Dipper!" she complained, whining a bit. "It'll be fun, promise!" "No, Mabel, I'm not going to!" Dipper said, placing his bowl in the sink. "Besides, I'm going to be playing Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons with Gruncle Ford, remember? And didn't you say that you, Candy, and Grenda were going out shopping today?" "Oh yeah, I did." Mabel said, scratching the back of her neck. "Still, I'll at least help Gruncle Stan come up with some carnival games. You and Gruncle Ford can play your nerdy games." "It's not nerdy, Mabel!" Dipper angrily said as Mabel walked off, giggling as she did.

Dipper just sighed, and started to walk out of the kitchen, when he bumped into Violesta. "So, Stan's holding a carnival huh?" she asked, crossing her arms. "Yeah, and he's gonna charge people $6 a piece to get in. It's probably gonna be a really cheap carnival though. He'll probably even charge people to play the games and stuff." "Yes, that is typical of him." Violesta said, nodding slightly in agreement. "Well, I'll be sure to at least try to convince Stan to not over charge people too much. I can manipulate people's minds, so it should be easy." "Thanks, Violesta, at least you use yours powers respectfully." Dipper said, knowing that a certain yellow dream demon didn't. Violesta chuckled slightly walking towards the entrance of the Mystery Shack. "Well, I'm heading out. Tell Stan that I'll 'help' him with the carnival later." Violesta said, using telepathy to communicate with Dipper secretly. "Alright, thanks again." Dipper replied in his head, walking up to his room to get a few things. "Anytime." Violesta replied, heading out to who knows where.

"YES! I rolled a 32! Eat that you cardboard wizard!" Dipper yelled triumphantly, causing Ford to laugh. "And I thought I had you cornered there." Ford laughed, pushing his glasses up so he could see better. "Never underestimate me, Gruncle Ford!" Dipper said confidently. "I know all of your tricks." "Not all my tricks, Dipper." Ford chuckled, getting the next graph out. "You haven't seen anything yet!" Before the two could continue playing their game, Stan's voice called out to them from above. "Stanford, Dipper, get up here! I got something to show you!" Stan called to them, sounding a bit pleased with himself. "We'll be up there in a minute, Stanley." Ford called back. He then looked at Dipper, smiling at him. "We'll finish our game later, Dipper." Ford said, standing up from the floor. "We'll finish our game after we see what Stanley wants." "He probably wants us to see that carnival he made." Dipper sighed, standing up as well. "What carnival?" Ford asked, walking towards the stairs leading to the secret door behind the vending machine.

"It's this carnival Gruncle Stan came up with to make money." Dipper explained, walking up the stairs with Ford. "He's gonna over charge people on probably everything." "Well, we can only hope that he doesn't." Ford sighed, opening the secret door to the lab downstairs. After exiting the lab, the two entered the living room where Stan was, grinning proudly. "C'mon, I want to show you two the carnival me and Mabel came up with!" Stan said, walking out the front door, the other two following him. Stan had borrowed the place where the people of Gravity Falls had held the music festival to hold his carnival, which Dipper figured he would. "Where's Mabel?" Ford asked, following Stan to wherever he was leading him and Dipper. "She's out shopping her something." Stan said, glancing back at his brother. The three then arrived at the carnival Stan made, and it looked surprisingly decent and colorful. Mabel and I put our heads together to decide what the carnival would look like." Stan said, walking the two through the carnival. "We even made up some carnival games, and decided to hold some attractions and a talent show too. Also Soos and Violesta helped me build the carnival. Soos and I did most of the building, while Violesta mostly lifted the things with her magic, or whatever she uses."

"You did a pretty good job with this carnival, Stanley." Ford said, proud that his brother decided to actually help build something, even if it was to make money for himself. "Yeah, I'll admit, it looks really good." Dipper admitted, looking around the carnival. "I finished putting up the last of the decorations, Mr. Pines." Soos said, walking over to Stan. "Thank you, Soos." Stan said. "For helping me, I'll add fifty more cents to your paycheck." "Oh! Thanks Mr. Pines!" Soos said. "Still, it was fun building everything with you and Violesta." "By the way, where is Violesta?" Dipper asked, not seeing Violesta asked. "She left after we got everything up." Stan replied. "She said that she was going to go visit a friend of her's. Oh, also, I've decided on something. I've decided to charge people $4 instead of six to get into the carnival, and I won't charge people for the games." "That's great Gruncle Stan!" Dipper said, making a mental note to thank Violesta for mentally convincing his gruncle. "Yeah, something told me that people wouldn't really come into the carnival if I over charged them too much." Stan said, remembering the sudden change he had in his mind. "Well, that's probably true Stanley." Ford said, thinking that Violesta must have mentally convinced Stan otherwise. "Yeah, I guess I'll be generous for once." Stan said, continuing to show his brother and nephew around the carnival.

"And now Stan had decided to only charge people $4 to get into the carnival, and not to charge people to play the games at the carnival." Violesta explained to Bill, who had decided to pay her a visit in the woods before she visited her friend in her dimension. "Hah hah hah, leave it to you to do favors for Pinetree!" Bill laughed, placing his hands on his hips. "Well, he's my friend, Bill. What else do you want me to do?" Violesta asked, raising an eyebrow at the dream demon. "Play pranks on him and Ford with me." Bill answered, smirking at the human-fox demon in front of him. "Not any of your violent or "heart attack degree" ones, no." Violesta said, crossing her arms. "Well, at least the pranks that would scare them?" Bill asked, taking a step closer to Violesta. "Maybe, if I feel like it." Violesta said, a half smile tugging at her lips. "Trust me Purple, you'll love them. I promise you'll have fun." Bill said, teasing Violesta with the nickname he gave her a while back. "Well, we'll just have to see, won't we Yellow?" Violesta asked, starting to smirk. "I have very high standards to meet, you know. After all, you had to go to many lengths to find out that you met them in one category." "And I'm glad I did." Bill said, taking another step towards Violesta, causing her to look up at him to face him. "You also know that I know how to party." "I know, I know, and I'm the bookworm. You don't have to say that." "Yeah, but you're my bookworm." Bill chuckled, pulling Violesta towards him by her waist with one hand.

"Yes, and you're my trickster." Violesta said, smirking up slightly at Bill. Bill then closed the space between him and Violesta, his hand resting on the back of her head, while her arms wrapped around him. It was pretty strange for a dream demon and a human-fox demon to be lovers, not to mention that Violesta was royalty, but what wasn't strange in Gravity Falls? After a minute or so, Bill and Violesta pulled away for air, though Bill didn't really want to. "Well, I gotta go now, Bill." Violesta said, letting go of Bill. "Kalaria is going to start wondering where I'm at if I don't get over there soon." "I know, just wish that we didn't need air." Bill laughed, making Violesta blush slightly. "Well, we'll kiss all you want after this carnival Stan's holding." Violesta giggled, opening up the portal to her dimension. "I'll see you in a little while, alright?" "Alright, have fun." Bill said, waving goodbye. Violesta then disappeared into the portal, it closing up behind her. Bill usually didn't act calm or caring, but he made a exception for Violesta. He would really only tease her or something, or play with her fox ears and tail when she had them out. Bill never thought he could feel love, but he guessed having a 'meat sack' body came with that emotion. Bill then teleported off towards the carnival, deciding to see this carnival Stan was holding. "Lets see what chaos I can start here." Bill laughed to himself, sitting on the branch of one of trees as he watched Stan show Ford and Dipper one of the carnival's exhibits.

Meanwhile, in the forest, two young-looking women walked around, looking around the forest. "You feel nostalgia hitting you yet?" one of them asked the other, laughing while it. "Yeah, it's been a long time since me and you were here." the other one replied chuckling. "Nothing's really changed, has it?" "Yeah, except for the new mayor." the other said, looking around the forest. "Hey, I heard there was a carnival being held tonight in that old part of the forest we used to play in. You wanna go?" "Sure, why not?" the other one laughed, adjusting her glasses. "We could see if anyone there recognizes us." "They probably won't, since we haven't been here since we were, what, seventeen?" the other laughed, scratching the back of her neck. "Well, you never know, and it would also let people get used to us being around here." "Yeah, that'd be a good idea." the other said, tugging some hair behind her ears. "At least the cabin we used to live in's still standing." "Yeah, that's a plus." the second one laughed, walking off with the first woman further into the the forest of Gravity Falls, their hometown.
