Episode Five 'KnightMare.'

Dipper, Wendy, and Mabel were hanging out on the roof of the Mystery Shack together, drinking Pit Colas.

"You guys got to battle ghost pirates while I had to watch Robbie and Tambry make goo goo eyes at each other? Dudes I am never skipping another fishing trip." Wendy said.

"It wasn't as fun as it sounds," Dipper assured her.

"Heck yeah, it was! I got to be a ghost! What could be more fun than that?" Mabel protested.

Dipper raised an eyebrow. "How about not being abducted by ghost pirates?"

Mabel shrugged. "That's not the worst thing that could happen."

Wendy's phone buzzed and she took it out of her pocket. "Shoot I gotta go, hey we're all going to do a bonfire in the woods later tonight and burn old school stuff, you guys should come. It'll be epic."

"A party?" Mabel's eyes shone.

"I don't know, Stan will probably say no, and Ford won't want us in the woods at night... Soos is an adult right?" Dipper wondered.

Wendy shrugged. "Well if you guys can make it you should definitely come. See ya!" Wendy jumped off the roof onto a tree and slid down it, then she ran off.

"Do you really think Soos counts as an adult?" Mabel asked Dipper.

"Absolutely not. But he's over eighteen right?"

"So you want my permission to go out in the middle of the night to hang with a bunch of seventeen-year-olds?" Soos confirmed.

"Yup." Dipper and Mabel nodded.

"Well, I don't see why not. What could possibly go wrong?" Soos asked obliviously.

"Never ever say that," Dipper said.

"Who cares! We're going to a party! We're going to a party!" Mabel cheered.

Dipper clamped his hand over her mouth. "Shhh! And it's not a party, it's a bonfire."

Mabel shoved Dipper off her. "Same difference."

"Can I come?" Soos asked.

Dipper and Mabel looked at each other with the same glance. You say no! No, you do it! No, you!

Later that night Dipper, Mabel, and Soos tiptoed down the stairs. Stanley and Stanford were watching The Dutchess Approves on the TV.

"Why do you like this?" Stanford asked.

"It's good! Just wait until the third act!" Stan assured him.

"How long is this movie?"

"Five hours. It's the extended cut."

"Ugh!"

"Perfect. We'll be back before they're done that movie." Dipper whispered.

"Why are they watching the Duchess Approves? Even I don't like it." Mabel wondered.

"It's probably an ironic viewing," Soos suggested. Dipper and Mabel nodded in agreement and moved into the kitchen where they slipped out the door, turned on their flashlights, and ran into the woods.

Wendy, Robbie, Tambry, Thompson, Lee, and Nate were sitting around a firepit that contained the charred remains of pencils, binders, and notebooks among other things.

"Dipper! Mabel!" Wendy said, waving them over. Everyone looked over at them and smiled, then they noticed Soos and frowned again.

"Wendy I thought you said only Captain Fun Times and Crazy Girl were coming," Lee whispered to Wendy.

"Hey man lay off, Soos is the reason they're here in the first place." Wendy told him with a glare.

"What's up guys, brought anything to burn?" Nate asked.

"Nope, why would we bring school stuff with us to Gravity Falls?" Dipper asked with a grin.

"Fair enough Fun Times."

"Robbie brought marshmallows so feel free to grab a stick." Wendy offered.

"Wow look at all this burning stuff!" Mabel said in awe. "Is that a backpack?"

"Yeah. It's totally stupid so I burned it." Tambry said, not looking up from her phone.

"Won't you need that next year?" Dipper asked, roasting his marshmallow slowly.

"Huh? Oh crap! Whatever." Tambry shrugged and continued texting.

"Hey, guysh! Look at dish!" Thompson said, revealing his mouth filled to the brim with marshmallows. "Twenty sheven."

"Thompson! Thompson!" Nate and Lee chanted.

"That's nothing. I can do fifty." Soos spoke up, everyone stared at him for a moment.

"No way man. That's like, not even possible." Robbie denied.

"I've seen him! Soos can do it! He's like, a wizard with them." Mabel defended Soos.

"I've got to see this." Wendy decided.

"Yeah, how about you show them, Soos," Dipper suggested.

Tambry put her phone down. "Now this I've got to see."

"Challenge accepted." Soos opened a bag of marshmallows and began putting them in his mouth, everyone counting as he did. In just fifteen minutes they had reached forty-eight, and Soos looked like he couldn't fit any more.

"This guy is awesome! He's like, cooler Thompson!" Nate said. Thompson frowned at the comment.

"There's no way he's getting to fifty," Robbie said.

"This is crazy, I'm like telling everyone about this guy."

"I can shtill do more," Soos assured them, he took another Marshmallow and put it in his mouth, somehow it didn't fall out.

"Soos I don't think there's any room left," Dipper said.

"Yeah man, you did great, don't push yourself too far," Wendy added.

"Soos! Soos! A good fellow! In his mouth rests fifty marshmallows!" Mabel cheered.

"Soos! Soos! Soos!" Lee began chanting, the others picking it up.

"Eh, what the heck?" Wendy shrugged and began chanting as well.

"You got this Soos!" Dipper shouted, now chanting as well. Just as Soos was about to put the final marshmallow in his mouth he was impaled by a lance.

Ford sighed, now only an hour and a half into the movie. "Why do you like this movie again Stanley?"

"Because this woman is super kick butt!" Stan shouted, focusing on the TV intently.

"Well, it's not the worst entertainment I've had to view." Ford decided.

"You just wait until Act 2!" Stan informed him.

"I'm going to get some more sodas. Need anything?"

"Nah, just hurry back!"

Ford stood up and walked into the kitchen. "I wonder if the kids are asleep? I haven't heard them at all. Well, I'm sure it's nothing to be concerned of." He opened the fridge and took out another case of Pit Cola.

"This is good Ford, take your mind off the statistics and enjoy some time relaxing," Ford told himself, he couldn't help but glance out the window, feeling like something was watching him. "You're just psyching yourself out, Ford." Ford took a deep breath and went back into the living room.

"Hehehehe. Our first move must be made. Implant the children with the probes." A voice ordered another.

"Yes, sir." The other voice said, and it moved from the bushes. Despite being a large creature it made almost no noise, staying hidden in the shadows. It began climbing up the side of the Mystery Shack to Dipper and Mabel's window. It peered inside, seeing two lumps buried under covers.

The figure laughed to himself quietly. "Perfect. They're asleep." He pushed the window open and slipped in, he took out the two small probes from the master and moved towards Mabel's bed, he pulled back the covers to find nothing but a pig fast asleep in her bed.

"What the?" He did the same with Dipper's bed to reveal a bunch of books. "They aren't here..." The figure jumped out the window and closed it behind him, then he scurried back off to the bushes.

For a moment nobody moved, there was just a lance sticking out of Soos's stomach. Then it retracted, but Soos had no marks. He spat out all the marshmallows and everyone's eyes fell on the wielder of the Lance.

The creature's top half was a knight with a long lance in his one hand, it had a white and black spiral pattern. Its body half was that of a black horse, it stomped its hoof on the ground and reared its lance back, this time taking a stab at Tambry, Robbie shoved her out of the way and took the hit. Once again he was fine.

"What the heck is that thing?!" Mabel finally blurted out, the beast turned its attention to her.

"I don't know. I've read all three journals a dozen times over and never noticed this!" Dipper said.

"Well, whatever it is it can't hurt us," Wendy said.

"This is freaky man!" Lee shouted.

"It's another ghost!" Nate cried.

"Not another one. I can't handle another ghost!" Thompson wailed, curling up into a ball.

Wendy took her ax from her belt and charged at the beast. She struck one of its legs and it back-handed her with its free hand in response, leaving the ax embedded in its leg. Instead of blood, a strange black liquid dripped from its leg.

"Not a ghost," Wendy said. Dipper and Mabel rushed to help her up.

"This thing is weird, its lance doesn't harm you but it still can touch you." Dipper murmured.

It loomed over Lee and Nate who hugged each other in fear. The monster swept its lance in a wide arc, going through both of them.

"What is it doing?" Dipper wondered.

"Whatever it is it can't be good," Wendy said.

"We gotta stop it!" Mabel decided. "How about we chop off its head?"

"That'll make a headless horseman," Soos told them.

"I know what to do, aim for the heart!" Wendy shouted and she charged at the beast as it struck Tambry with its strange lace. Wendy ripped her ax free from it and swung it at the beast's heart, the creature grabbed her by the neck and impaled her with the lance then threw Wendy back into a tree.

"Wendy!" Dipper shouted.

"I'm...fine." Wendy groaned. "Kill it."

Dipper, Mabel, and Soos charged at the monster. "Tambry, Thompson, Robbie, Nate, Lee! Help us out!" Dipper shouted at them. Everyone but Thompson charged at the monster, Dipper picked up Wendy's ax from the ground. Nate and Lee charged at it from behind and each took a hoof to the chest. The monster headbutted Soos and hit Robbie in the head with the butt of its lance.

Tambry took a picture of it with the flash on and the beast covered its eyes.

"Now's our chance!" Mabel said, the twins lifted the ax together and swung it towards the beast. It swung its lance wildly, hitting both of the twins multiple times. Then the black part of its lance began to glow and images flashed in everyone but Thompson's heads. Their worst fears appeared before them all. Dipper and Mabel dropped the ax as they experienced their worst fear, Bill Cipher returning and killing all of their friends and family. Then taking over the world.

Soos's fear wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other's his worst fear was his favorite fast food place going out of business. Despite this terrifying him he stood and picked up the ax. "Leave my friends alone!" Then he slammed the ax into the head of the monster and it shrieked, galloping off into the woods. But everyone else kept experiencing their fears over and over. Only Soos was freed from the creature's spell.

"Oh man. I gotta stop this guy. But I can't do it all by myself." Soos looked around and he saw Thompson, still curled up in a fetal position. "Thompson, you're still here! And you weren't hit by the lance!"

"B-b-because I was smart and h-hid myself!"

"Dude come on, we gotta find that thing and kill it," Soos told him.

"N-n-n-no way!" Thompson said, his face paled at even the thought of such an act.

"I can't do this alone man. You were the only one who wasn't hit by the lance. You gotta help me, do it for your friends..." Soos said.

Thompson clenched his fists and stood. "You're right! I gotta do this! For my friends!"

"Now! Let's go kill a KnightMare!" Soos shouted.

"Knightmare?"

"Because it's causing nightmares and it's a knight and a horse. Horses can be called mares. Whatever let's go!"

Commercial.

Soos and Thompson walked through the woods, shining their flashlights in every nook and cranny they could find. "This is freaking me out, man!"

"I know dude. But once we find it it'll be a piece of cake, take the ax from its head and hit its heart." Soos assured Thompson.

"Y-yeah right!"Just then they heard a twig snap and shone their lights in the location of the sound. The KnightMare stood there and turned its head to them, raising its lance, which now glowed white. It galloped forward, charging at them, slicing at tiny trees in its way and destroying them.

"The lance is real now dude!" Soos yelled and they dove out of the way. The KnightMare came to a full stop and turned around, moving to strike them. Thompson shone the flashlight in its eyes and it veered away. The two stood, trying to keep track of the KnightMare. Its lance glowed black and it stabbed Soos then it roared and Soos was once again overcome with nightmares.

"Soos! Get up, man! I can't do this alone!" Thompson cried.

"You've got to. Don't let your fears control you. That's how it beats its enemies. Be brave Thompson. Be braver than anyone else. Looks like I learned that a little late huh? No not the toys!" Soos cried, and he was overcome with fear.

"No. No. No no no no!" Thompson stared at the KnightMare, which waited for him to make a move. "AHHHH!" Thompson jumped into the air and grabbed onto the handle of the ax, using it to swing onto the KnightMare's back. The beast charged forward but Thompson had other plans, he turned it by forcing the ax to the right until it had completely turned around. The beast tried its hardest to knock him off using branches and all kinds of other things but Thompson didn't let go.

They began to approach the bonfire site and were heading straight for the fire, then Thompson pulled Wendy's ax free and leaped off the KnightMare. The monster plowed straight into the fire, destroying it for good. Thompson landed on his back and just lay there. The nightmare effect wore off for everyone and they all praised Thompson, Soos returned later and was also praised.

"Let's never do another bonfire again," Nate said.

"Definitely." Lee agreed.

"Maybe we could all hang out at my house next time?" Thompson proposed.

"Yeah Thompson! You're awesome!" Lee said. Everyone began chanting Thompson.

"Wow, that was crazy," Wendy said once her friends had cleared out.

"Yeah. We're never sneaking out again." Dipper said.

"Well at least at Gravity Falls." Mable corrected.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, nothing."

"Well we should probably get back before Mr. Pines and Mr. Pines realize we're gone," Soos suggested.

"Alright see you guys tomorrow," Wendy said, they waved goodbye and parted ways.

"You know I learned a real lesson today dudes, never say 'what could possibly go wrong.'" Soos said as they walked home together.

End Credits.

"Not there? Well, that means you failed to deliver the probes. Which means that's another setback for our plans isn't it! I knew I couldn't count on you! I'll just have to recruit someone else to our team, someone who cannot let me down." The voice smiled and laughed to himself.

*A/N I think I'm going to go for monthly updates at least from now on. I'm trying to be more consistent but the real challenge is sitting myself down. I have tons of great ideas for this story so I hope you all stay tuned. Thanks! Have a great day!*
