Spotlight
"No no no no," Danny groaned, staring in horror at the ghosts flooding out of the Mystery Shack. Old enemies, rivals, and unknown spirits alike rushed into the suddenly darkened sky.
And through the windows, Danny could see his own silhouette. His vaporous hands clenched into fists.
Bill floated through the house at his ease, drifting through walls and floors. Danny phased through the wall and tried, once again to re-enter his body.
Without even looking up, Bill said breezily,
"No dice kid. This lovely transdimensional body is mine now. Well at least until I find the rift and give this world something to really worry about."
He said this as casually as one might describe the weather. Danny looked on helplessly as Bill drifted halfway through a wall, and transformed midway. The wood seized up around his body and Danny could hear ribs creaking as Bill wheezed,
"Now isn't this fun?"
"Stop it!" Danny cried, horrified at the sight of his body wedged inside the wall.
"Why? Why did you do this?"
Bill phased the rest of the way through the wall and turned to look at Danny. It was like looking in an unsettling mirror.
"Why? Everyone thinks I have to have some big reason for everything," Bill snapped, looking disgusted. "The shadows are fine for plotting, but the spotlight is where I belong. Now howsabout you help me find my rift, you get your body back, and we all go home happy?"
In response, Danny shot up through the roof.
Bill shook his head in bemusement.
"Seriously. I posses someone and suddenly I'm the bad guy." Shrugging unconcernedly, Bill phased through the floor.

"Mom! Dad! Ghosts!" Danny yelled.
Jack and Maddie Fenton looked right through him, happily watching uncle Dan try to shoot a gopher with a bazooka.
"Hello? Hey dad, I'm the one who ate the rest of the cookies! Mom, I broke your mirror when I was seven! LISTEN!" Danny shouted, dancing in front of them.
Uncle Dan sent a missile rocketing into the ground, causing the very house to shake. Jack applauded enthusiastically and laughed,
"That would make a great ghost gun with the right modifications!"
"GHOSTS!" Danny shouted in his face, hoping his favorite word would wake him up.
"GHOSTS!" Dan bellowed behind him.
Finally, Danny thought, looking around.
A sinuous snake ghost phased through the ground around them. Coiling itself up, it spat hissing sparks into the grass. Where they touched, the ground smoked and burned.
Finally catching on, Jack took up the chorus too.
"GHOSTS! Maddie, get the Wraith Wrangler! Let's test that baby out."
Before the words had left his mouth Maddie leapt into action. Within seconds, the serpent ghost was tied up as neatly and tightly as a Christmas ribbon and everyone was piling into the R.V.
Well at least I don't have to worry about them, Danny thought gratefully, watching the R.V. tear down the street at speeds only rockets should go.
