A few days later, on May 3rd, it was 10:30pm and my phone rang. Ashton's face was on the screen to indicate that he was calling. I hit accept, then his face got bigger.

"Hey Ash" I said.

"Hey babe" he said back.

"Anything new with you or the boys?"

"Not really, but I wanted to call you now so I wouldn't forget."

"What do you mean 'wouldn't forget'"

"We have an all-day long meeting today, and we probably won't get home until 11 or somewhere around there. I wanted to talk to you quick, but we have to leave in a few minutes"

"Oh okay. I'm glad you did call"

"I am too. Anything new with you or the baby?"

"Nope. Perfectly fine" But I lied, then said, "but I thought of one thing: I have a big head and you have a big head, so our baby will probably have a big head"

"Yeah.. Sorry about that.." He giggled.

"Ashton!! Let's go!!" Michael yelled.

"Just let me finish talking to Madds" Ashton said back.

"Ooo! Maddie, get Saige!" Michael ordered.

"Saige!! Come here! Michael wants you!" I yelled to Saige, and she came running down the stairs.

"Hi babe" Michael said.

"Hi Mikey" Saige smiled.

"Michael, we have to go!!" Ashton said to Michael, mocking what Michael had said earlier.

"Okay, bye babe" Michael said to Saige.

"Bye Mikey"

"Bye babe. Talk to you tomorrow" Ashton said to me.

"Bye Ash" And I hung up.

I fell asleep at 11:45 that night, thinking about how tired Ashton must be. I slept for a few hours, then woke up at 4:30 the next morning with contractions. They were now less than 30 minutes apart. I called for Saige, but she didn't hear me. The second time I yelled, I heard a bang and a crash, but then Saige ran into my room.

"Maddie, what do you need?" She asked.

"Saige, I think I'm going into labor"

"Oh my god, Maddie, we need to get you to the hospital," she started helping me out of bed, "and we need to call Ashton"

"No, Saige, don't you dare call Ashton. He is in a really important meeting. When he calls tomorrow, we'll tell him"

"Fine"

*Saige's POV*

Maddie told me not to call Ashton. I didn't. I texted him. I wanted to surprise Maddie with Ashton being there. I get he was in a really important meeting, but this is his child being born! His first child, especially.

*Ashton's POV*

I was in the meeting, and at 12:37 specifically, I got a text from Saige.

From Saige:

I think Maddie is going into labor. I'm taking her to St Vincent's Hospital. Come quick, Ashton!!!!

I started running out of the room and down the hallway of the building. While I was, I texted Saige back:

To Saige:

Oh my god, I'll be ther as soon as possibe. Sorry if the words are wronf I'm runing down the hallway now. I'll catch the nex t flight to Sydney!!! See you soon!!!!!!

Then I heard Luke yell, "Ashton! Get back in here!!"

Instead of stopping to talk to him, I kept running and texted him.

To Luke:

Madds is in labor. I'm catching the first flight back to Sydney. Also, cancel all meetings or practice from now until May 11th!!!

From Luke:

Ashton you can't do that! I get why, but we can't do that!!

To Luke:

Yes we can!! We have to. Talk to Adam.

From Luke:

Fine. I'll try

To Luke:

Thanks Luke:) also, can you guys, after you talk to management, catch the next flight to Sydney? Madds and I would like that:)

From Luke:

Okay. Will do

To Luke:

Thanks so much!! I owe you.

From Luke:

I was now already half way to the airport. I didn't care if I was texting while driving, as long as I didn't get caught. Because if I didn't hurry, my baby would be born, and I wouldn't be there. Once I got to the airport, I ran up to the desk and asked the lady when the next flight to Sydney was. She told me that it was actually leaving in 25 minutes. I got a ticket, then realized that I had nothing but my phone. I didn't care. I wasn't going back to the hotel now.

25 minutes later, I got onto the plane after texting Saige.

To Saige:

Getting on the plane:)

From Saige:

Maddie was just put into a room. You have time, Ashton. The doctor says that the baby won't come for probably another 13 hours.. I feel bad for Maddie.

To Saige:

That's good for me but bad for her:( the flight will take about 12 hours or so.

From Saige:

Oh then hurry..

To Saige:

Okay, I'm getting on the plane now! See you in a few hours!

From Saige:

Ok bye

I turned my phone onto airplane mode, and got into a seat. I couldn't sleep. I was thinking about Maddie too much. This was going to be a long flight.

*Maddison's POV*

I feel bad that Ashton can't come to the birth, but he is in a really important meeting. I'll tell him the next time he FaceTimes. Also, I'll have to lay on this hospital bed with contractions and all that shit for another 13 hours or so, the doctor said. I just laid on the hospital bed, and my family started to arrive. My mum, Anne Marie, Harry, Lauren, Logan, Layla, and Danielle came into my room. Danielle, as the doctors say, has only a few more days to live, but at the most, two weeks. I'm glad that she is going to be able to meet Ashton's and my baby.

Laying in the hospital was kind of boring, but my family, Saige, and Katie kept me company. It was now 12:30, lunchtime. I had to eat the horrible hospital food. It had been 8 hours since I woke up, and 6 1/2 hours since the doctor said I had about 13 hours until the baby came. So, 6 1/2 more hours until the baby comes. That's just great. I got out my phone and was going to text Ashton, but then remembered that he was in a big meeting. I decided to sleep a bit, or at least try to sleep through the contractions that were worsening.

When I woke up, it was 3pm. With 4 more hours until the baby came, I talked to my mum, Layla, and Anne Marie.

Layla told me that labor wasn't that bad, or as bad as they said, but from what I have experienced already, I know she is just trying to make me less nervous. Anne Marie kept apologizing because Ashton couldn't be there, even though it wasn't her fault. She kept asking why I didn't want to call him and tell him to come, but I told her that he was in an important meeting. She said she understood, but I don't think she did.

I was getting tired of laying in the hospital bed with contractions all day. I just wanted the baby to come already.

*Saige's POV*

It was now 6pm and Ashton still isn't here. He said that the flight would take about 12 hours, and that was 12 1/4 hours ago!! I know I'm being impatient, but I think Maddie is about to have the baby, and Ashton needs to be here.

"Saige," Maddie said, then I answered, "yeah?"

"Get the doctor"

"Why?"

"I think my water just broke"

"Oh.. Oh my god, okay..." I pressed the button to call the doctor, and the doctor came in about a minute later, wondering what was going on.

"I think my water just broke!" Maddie exclaimed to the doctor.

"Okay," the doctor checked Maddie, "yes, you are fully dilated. I'll have you push now"

I got out my phone. I wanted to videotape this for Ashton.

*Maddison's POV*

The doctor told me to push, so I did. I pushed as hard as I could, and it hurt. Saige was beside me, videotaping. Probably to show Ashton when he comes back on break. The doctor told me to push once again, so I did. After about four pushes, the doctor said, "I can see the head!!" I sighed, then kept pushing.

*Ashton's POV*

It had been 12 1/2 hours since the flight took off. The plane would be lading in 10 minutes. I need to hurry up, or I'm going to miss the birth.

*Maddison's POV*

After six hard pushes, the doctor told me that the head and shoulders were out.

"One more!!" He yelled.

I pushed hard, harder, harder, harder, and I finally heard cries. The doctor yelled out, "Congratulations!! It's a boy!!" The doctor placed him on the blanket covering my chest, and I got to see and hold him. He had a few dirty blonde curls, just like Ashton. When he opened his eyes for the first time, I saw that he had beautiful hazel eyes, just like Ashton. I couldn't believe that Ashton wouldn't get to hold him or touch him, but only see him for over a week.

*Ashton's POV*

I got off the plane, turned my phone off of airplane mode, and it dinged. I had a message from Saige. I opened up messenger, and there was a video. A video of my baby being born. I watched it as I was running through the airport. Towards the end of the video, the doctor yelled, "Congratulations! It's a boy!" Then, my phone dinged again. This text said, "Colby Fletcher Irwin, May 4th, 6:25pm. 6lbs 5oz, 17in long." I smiled, because the next picture she sent was Madds holding Colby right after he was born. It was so cute. I ran outside of the airport, and drove off to the hospital. I arrived at the hospital, texted Saige to ask what room Maddie was in, then ran up to her room.

*Maddison's POV*

I held Colby for a little after they cleaned him up, and he was smaller than I expected. Then my mum held him, then Anne Marie. Next, Layla held him, Lauren following Layla, next Harry, and finally Danielle. We got a picture of Danielle holding Colby because we didn't know if that would be the only time or not. Saige and Katie got to hold him too. I got him back, then everyone except for Saige left the room. I was holding him, and talking to her when I heard the door shut. I looked over and I couldn't believe what I saw.

Ashton came.
