NARRATOR: Who is the villain of this story?

GIRL: Villain?

NARRATOR: Yes, villain.

GIRL: Why must there be a villain?

NARRATOR: What kind of epic story would be without a villain.

When we're young, we're taught the distinction between a hero and a villain. Good and evil. A savior and a lost cause. But what if the only real difference is just who's telling the story?

Eyes are the mirror of our soul ─ wasn't there a saying as such? I don't believe people can easily read you, read you like a book, see the depths of your soul and what you are hiding beneath the collections of faces hanging on your wall.

Faces change every day; we choose which face we want to put on today, what tomorrow, what next week. Fake smiles and bright eyes, most people put on such faces, one that will not have others whispering about them. Hide behind a mask so people would leave you alone. Hide behind a mask so people can't really read you ─ unless you let them. Because there are even such who would do anything for a bit of attention. Ask if everything is okay when they see a crack in the porcelain mask that hides the ugly truth. No, I'm not okay, but do you really care? No. They would laugh in your face and throw more knives to the cracks that begun to show. That's how world is, with people who would do anything to see you break down.

Hit after hit, punch after punch, and a person is broken to the bone. This time, for real. Blood on the wooden floor coming from her nose, broken bones of her body as she lays helplessly in her own pain. No one to help her. No one. Not even her creator. She pleaded and pleaded, cried and cried, trying so hard to defend herself against a monster of a man. Her spells are reflected ─ she's still young, she shouldn't be using magic, but his connections in the Ministry says otherwise. His words felt like bullets to her chest, cold and painful, venomous and chilly ─

"You're too weak."

"You're useless."

"If only I had firstborn son and not you."

"This family will die because of you."

"You're not my daughter."

At night, when it's the hour of sleep and house is quiet, she prays to gods to tell her, to explain to her why does her own father hate her so much. Was she too weak? Was she useless? Why was she born a girl? Would her family last when she becomes one in charge? Why doesn't he love her?

She's his whole copy ─ from the way she looks to the way she can do magic. And he hates it. He despise it. Dominic Crimson knew he was a bad man, a bad husband, a bad father. He knew he was supposed to die and he was waiting for the day to arrive. People would now think ─ if he knew he was a monster of a man, why couldn't he fix himself. He tried, believe me he did, but money, power and glory were a hard thing to fight of.

House of Crimson ─ wizards worst nightmare.

There was a book written sometime in the ninety thirties by the title of the Pure-Blood Directory. Every wizard knows of this book and what it has written in it. The twenty-eight families, all of whom are known to somewhat be of pure-blood descendant ─ A number of families appearing on the list deplored their inclusion, with many, including the Weasleys, proudly noting that they had Muggle ancestors. Others felt there was a certain prestige in being on this list, and adherents to the pure-blood supremacy doctrine made quite a big deal out of their inclusion on this list of "pedigree".

But why wasn't House of Crimson of this list? Many asked the same question.

NARRATOR: They couldn't be placed within one pure-blood family. You see, The Royal and Most Ancient House of Crimson if the oldest and wealthiest, not just pure-blood wizarding family, but around the world too.

No one really knows the exact date when the House of Crimson first originated, but nonetheless, they became the most influential family in whole Europe. What made them rich in the first place were the gold mines that were found by the founder of the family somewhere during the Middle Ages. Vyncent Crimson I is written in the books as a legendary man ─ founder of the House of Crimson and first wizard to start making change in the Wizarding community. He had wife bright future, full of luxury laid out for his descendants.

But greed was an evil thing.

NARRATOR: Can you see how House of Crimson is important to the Wizarding World? They create peace. They're the ones who find way for everyone to be at least a tad happy and still hold power over everyone. Folks knows not to mess with them or they know by the time they wake up, their coffin would be sealed and buried six feet underground.

In the beginning, there was only darkness.

Long before the Crimson name fell to whispers and shadows, before the curse was carved into blood and bone, there was Alder ─ driven by a hunger no man could tame. He sought to outlive the sun, to defy the moon, to steal from death what no wizard should claim. His heart, restless and bold, led him deep into forgotten realms, where light dared not reach, and the veil between worlds grew thin.

It was there, in the silence between breaths, that Alder found the Veil of Night, woven from the oldest magic, the black threads of endless might. It whispered to him in voices like a storm, promising power without end, a life untouched by the passage of time. But shadows, like all things, have a price, and Alder paid it with the fate of his kin.

He believed himself a master of the dark ─ yet darkness cannot be mastered.

The Veil bound itself to the Crimson blood, weaving its shadow into the heart of every heir, and with it, the curse of Morathos, the power of the forgotten night. From that moment, each firstborn child was marked, not for greatness, but for ruin. A crescent moon, carved in shadows, etches itself into their flesh, its tendrils winding through their souls. The more they wield their inherited power, the more they surrender to the darkness within, until there is nothing left but the whisper of a name lost to time.

The moonlight streamed through the large window, casting long shadows across the floor of her room. She stepped toward the window, looking out over the grounds of Crimson Manor. The forest stretched out beyond the garden walls, an ancient woodland that was as much a part of the Crimson legacy as the curse itself. The trees were thick and twisted, their branches clawing at the sky, their roots buried deep in the secrets of the earth.

And beyond those trees, somewhere in the heart of the forest, lay the ruins.

The ruins were where the curse had begun, or so the story went. It was there that Alder had found the artifact, hidden beneath the ground in a forgotten temple. Seraphina had never ventured into the ruins ─ her family had forbidden it and if she had disobeyed, she knew scars would hardly heal.

Seraphina Crimson is a monster.

She feels those shadows calling for her, how they become bigger and bigger, reaching out for her and into her soul. She's one with the shadows, and they're with her. She lives with the darkness as her source of light, trying to keep everything within her.

If she would to let the doors open, it would be the end of the world as we know it.
