Chapter Four

Oli scowled. "How the hell does that even work?" he demanded. He had no idea how sugar suited him at all. He could just imagine bumping into Zak in public and him calling him sugar. That was just asking for some guy to grab him to beat him up in an alley way. At least that was how these things tended to work for Oli.

Zak laughed lightly, "You're thoughts are quite strange." He smiles at Oli trying not to be weird, even though he was quite that. "Why is that how it seems to work." He asks.

Oli was confused now. What was he talking about? He fidgeted from foot to foot. The boy was extremely uncomfortable. I helped him so my job here is done he decided. "Oh... ah... look at the time. I-I should be looking for a place to stay. Um... seeya," he rambled awkwardly and turned to head towards town.

Zak laughed lightly, "May I follow you?" He walked over to Oli as he was walking away. "I've got nothing else to do." He smiled and put his hand on his neck.

Oli hunched his shoulders nervously. He could not figure out a why not at that moment. He was flustered, dizzy and very confused. "Do whatever you want," he grumbled, wondering if he was rude would the guy leave him alone or snap his neck?

"Why would I ever snap your neck?" Zak jogged lightly to walk besides Oli, "And you're not being rude." He puts his hands in his jean pockets and continued smiling, like his whole personality had changed after drinking Oli's blood.

Oli's mind put two and two together. Mind reading. Now that was more bullshit than that fast moving thing from before. "Stop that," he snapped, rubbing his head with a groan. He felt like kicking someone. This is frustrating as hell.

"I can't control it, one reason I don't like drinking human blood." Zak sighed and looked over at Oli, "Once a vampire drinks human blood, and they don't kill them in the process. I can hear your thoughts and you can hear mine now." He explain and moves slightly away from Oli, not wanting to be kicked.

Oli scowled. "Oh... Fair warning would have been amazing," he responded a bit sarcastically. He started to wonder why he could not hear Zak's thoughts like he mentioned then stopped half way through, not really wanting an answer. He did not like the idea of his thoughts being read. It made him feel exposed. After all, all his mean attitude was just an act.

"I forgot until I kept on hearing your voice in my head." Zak looked at Oli and was going to say something but closed his mouth, I should just try not to listen and not talk about it. Zak started thinking about what would have happened if he continued drinking Oli's blood.

Oli was hearing it now. He was alright up until Zak started to think about drinking his blood. "I'm dizzy," Oli said abruptly, a sort of subtle warning. If Zak did not want to knock Oli out and have to take responsibility of a dead or unconscious Oli he would leave him alone. He started walking again, already trying to figure out where he was going to stay. He hoped he would be able to find a decent place this time around instead of a dirty alley or breaking into some person's house.

"I have a house, not far from here." Zak said listening to Oli's thoughts. He pictured it in his mind for Oli then glanced at him. His mind started to go dirty, "No." He shook his head and started to think about his parents.

Oli hesitated. He weighed the options in his mind then hesitantly nodded. "Alright. You owe me anyways," he mumbled, the owing part was sort of for himself too. He felt like a burden when he got help but he helped Zak first so technically they were even, right?
